I feel like people are sleeping on Konsta Helenius. Habs are likely staying away from a project and will look to grab a more NHL-ready player. Helenius is similar to Reinbacher and Slafkovsky in the sense that he is also well-rounded, smart, two-way player with pro experience. With over 80 games played in Liiga, he might be the most NHL-ready prospect in this draft.
Enough of well rounded player ! Lets go for the most skilled player out front. We need scoring!! Catton, Iginla, Eiserman, Demidov or Lindstrom, any of these guys I'd be stoked with
helenius will be a useful player, but i see him as a 2C or 3C in the NHL. he won't be a superstar, and he's not what we'll need at 5. and he won't be around at the jets pick.
Nah Iginla. Just as well rounded but more skilled.
MTL needs a big fast tough skater to help Dac line mtl do not need another small guy. they need size talented size player.

Those useless points gained near the end of the regular season hurting the Habs chances at an elite player for the second consecutive season.
we were 28th and 10 points ahead of 29th. last year we were 28th and 8 points ahead of 29th. our draft position was as good as it was going to be without a lotto win. you have no idea what you're talking about.

Hadi has Reinbacher as the 2nd best D if he were in this draft.

Hawks grab Demidov, Ducks take a defensemen (so many options take your pick) Blue Jackets take Lindstrom and Canadiens take Igilna. He will be a great player for us.
i worry that we take iginla and get disappointed because we expect him to be what his father was. i don't see him displacing CC or slaf on L1. if he can get 30 goals and 60-70 points consistently on L2, that's probably his ceiling.
but if the draft goes as you say, is there a better option?
The Habs apparently have a great interest in Sennece. Scouts have him eith a higher ceiling than Lindstrom.

To me it is very simple... If Habs get their hands on Demidov, then the Shrimp cocktail Caufeild [8.00$ mill, perimeter player, no crease entries, does not hit, cannot play P.K. can not play on 3rd and 4th line, limited use as he ages] becomes expendable in double quick time. His asset value is as high as it will ever be. People must stop calling him a core player, a superstar in the making... he ain't.
There's always people like you who make stupid comparison like this. Demidov and Caufield aren't even the same type of player, Caufield is a sniper. Teams can't have more than 2 talented players in their top 6 or what? why trade one when you'd have to get another top 6 player to replace him?

He won’t be untouchable, but he is a core player. He was paid as such.
He doesn’t need to do those things at a high level, he has grown his game and few of those things are a weakness, a few he will never need to do. He’ll go back to scoring like usual next season (got all the same chances this past year just low shooting percentage due to his injury like most with that injury). Nothing to worry about. You want Demidov and Caufield.
