Nice to see you two hanging out. You make a good team.
3-way collab? ;-)
Shine a tree into the air and Baxman & Meg will come running.
Lake District was just so beautiful! Definitely, a place I want to explore more! :)
Looking forward to the videos Mads
Woodland!!! YES!! That little chair makes me look very small and why do I keep pouting? :P
I was going to leave a comment mentioning that either you had a very tiny head or Thom's is absolutely massive! I've been on a workshop with you, Simon, so I know your bonce is standard. I can only conclude TH's head is the size of a water melon :) Great video, by the way. We should visit the Lakes more often...
Excellent chat 😀
I kept thinking we were going to see Meg pop into the frame. Nice to see you two corroborating on a video.
Yeah I was wondering if I’d signed up to go on a workshop with a miniature photographer
I was wondering that when I was watching!!! lol I think TH gave you the joke chair so he could try and look more important :D
You make a great double act . You should do more . It’s brilliant . Well done guys 👍
I think they do workshops, which might be coming again soon. surprise!
Enjoying a cold one with Thomas and Simon! Great way to spend the evening...More of this gents!
Great video, loved the humour! I like these style of videos, I haven't been to the Lake District yet but this video will be a great help when I do. It looks like an amazing place to explore and photograph.
Nice! Love when photographers introduce and share locations from their point of view. Really good view of The Lake District.
Impressive photos as always, and thank you for the in depth information pertaining to the area. Cheers.
Ha, ha! Two of my most favorite landscape photographers and workshop hosts! Enjoyed seeing the two of you talking about some of the places we visited during the workshop. I really like these "Photographer's Views," they are informal and informing. Brilliant job you two-cheers!
That was hilarious...and extremely informational. Thanks for these Tom (and Simon)!
1:15 in and I've decided that this is probably the best video I've seen so far on this channel... just sayin...
Excellent again. More photographer's views!
Good to see u guys together
Always enjoy seeing Thomas and Simon together. And I like the 'A Photographer's View' series very much., and have put the Lake District on my 'must visit' list.
Looks a nice place to visit and maybe try and get down later in the year.
Brilliant! Great Duo!!
.........and woodland! Seriously, my dream trip would be a week in the Lake District in the Fall bookended by weekend visits to Old Trafford and Anfield.
Got myself a Square Filter system for my 70-300 VC Tamron Lens. Cant wait to shoot some landscapes. :p
You're a Legend.
Wtf, I Subscribed to Simon Baxter yesterday...
Thank you! ;)
just subbed to you Simon :D
Great video. I was at Derwent water for the first time last week and wish I'd seen this video before hand. Such a nice place even just walking around the lakeside
Brilliant! My two hero's together again!
Really loving this new series you've got. Keep up the good work and looking forward to hearing about other locations. Nice to see Simon pop in as well :-)
I watch your videos weekly love them. Unfortunately, I will travel 17,000km from Sydney to the Lake District and will miss you by a week at the Rheged show, bugger!
The lakes are beautiful ! I have visited many times and can see this beautiful place across Garlieston bay where I live on a clear day over 35 miles away as the crow flies and about 130 driving!
Keep up the great videos and a great inspiration!
I love this series
Wed afternoon with Thomas love it :-)
?
More! Enjoyed the banter between you two and the enthusiasm talking over each other to tell us about the best bits. A welcome change from the monologue.
Awesome to listen to , full of info
thanks for that, really appreciate you share your knowledge
All ways love your videos
Awesome!
A nice surprise to see Simon pop up there! A good overview.
Awesome detailed video.
Brilliant!
Hi Thomas loved this vlog can't wait to get there planning a trip there in June my self.
I really loved this! I thoroughly enjoy learning about locations. I'll have to check out the lake district the next time I'm in the UK.
Good episode.. ..thx
Great vlog guys looking forward to more in this series
All the best ....to your jeourny of photography.
This place looks so insane. I really need to visit there. Great stuff.
seeing a guest photographer im just expecting these two lovely, gorgeous gentlemen to say nothing but lovely gorgeous words to describe the landscape in the places that they went XD
Been going to Borrowdale for hiking for years, but learnt of some new areas to explore with the camera. Thanks
travelled 3 times to the lake district, did the skiddaw, scafell pike true honnister pass but my favorite was the hay stacks. Used the Wainwright guide book great and nise souvernire. Stayed at the Pepper family in Keswick. Great hiking depending on the wheather.
Hi. Very entertaining video on the Lake District, one of my favourite places. There is a fantastic hostel in Borrowdale.
I saw simon 😍i got excited!
Great video. Love the photographers view series and so nice to see Simon on here as well. Well done boys.
Two favorite photographers together on one vlog, brill
Thank you! Thank you!
Honestly, you two together are like Ant and Dec, Morecombe and Wise, Simon and Garfunkel. Well, perhaps not the last one, lol.
A great informative video guys injecting your wonderful humour. Nice one. Tony
And i thought that Morecambe & Wise were dead and gone !! Great stuff you two. Magic.
Simon Baxter!!!! Wooooooooooooooo. I've been subbed to him for a long time!
Loved this video and great to see your ‘double act’. Most enjoyable.
Another great episode of the new series and maybe a feature to repeat as its very enjoyable hearing the views of accomplished and inspiring photographers. I vote for Mr Johnson next :)
I live near the Lake District. The area directly west of Keswick is good. North West of Cat Bells which is always mobbed with people because Cat Bells is easy to get to. Also near Keswick to the east is Castlerigg stone circle which makes for a great foreground subject but this place is also often mobbed so you have to wait for a space in the crowds. The Lake District can be very dreary weather and end up no good for photos but when the weather is right, it's a photographer's dream.
Also near the Lake District is the Solway Firth. Quite a bleak location but often there are spectacular skies and great sunsets.
Great video - loved the collaboration with Simon. Great advise on locations in the Lake District!
great video guys. cant wait to go there its been on my list for a while now.
hi Thomas, can you tell me which program did you use for map?
Awesome format, more like this please!!
Sunrise for the win. Always. Great vid T-Bax, you guys make a good team for sure.
Great video. Thanks for showing me what the lake district is all about. It appears to be a popular place and no one has ever explained it as well as you two - you two remind me to Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
Great vlog Tom & how cool to see Simon , what a double act- you 2 are great. Love these 'Photographer's View' vids, so valuable :) Hope you do a few more. Absolutely adore Keswick & the Borrowdale valley, breathtaking views. Although, ALL of The Lake District is, very special place :)
Loved it guys. I'm lucky enough to live on the eastern edge of the Lake District and get to photograph it every weekend but you mentioned a couple of locations that even I didn't know about and need to check out so thanks for that. I'll shall try to get to the show in May, it'll be a good opportunity to meet up with a few of my CZcams buddies.
Holy crap Thomas!! Fabulous series and your sophisticated video effects and presentation are awesome! I hope you can keep it up, maybe weekly? Thank you
Great video and really, really good fun to watch with lots of interesting info.
My favourite place
Who needs Ant& Dec? Thomas and Simon all day for me :-)
Geography is fascinating! Thanks for putting in the effort to give us the map and aerial views in your discussions. I thought this was very fantastic. Well done Thomas!
Just got back from Borrowdale 2 hours ago..a bit surprised to see this pop up in my notifications!
Loved the video makes me want to head to England even more, Was great seeing Simon!
Great video as always!
Very interesting, and great interaction in between the both of you. Makes it very dynamic. Thanks!!
Two great photographers in one video! I would like more videos on locations in The Lake District. This one was great.
Pretty good video. Would want more of these
I'm loving these! Now when you reccomended to start early there is going to be plenty people about during sunrise, no parking to be found :) hehe . You two make a good team!
Sooooo gooood!
I drove from Scotland down to the lake district for your talk today at the Rheged Centre, it was great, loved the fact you worked at Celtic Park. Your an inspiration to all photographers. Wish my CZcams channel would take off like yours, I need to up my game and start to vlog.
Back in the lakes at the end of May. Personal favourite view is Fleetwith Pike and Buttermere, but Borrowdale is fantastic, and I’ll definitely try a few of these locations!
Very helpful, Thank guys :)
You two make a great team. Very hilarious.
Brilliant ant and dec of photography lol love see more of this kind of vlogs
Love the dual com video, great chemistry :)
Love Borrowdale! If you need a hotel, check out the Royal Oak in Rosthwaite. A homely feel with great traditional food and a dedicated drying room for wet clothes! I've been for years and it's always a great stay.
Absolutely love this video! My favourite place in the lakes is Keswick and this gem has given me some fresh inspiration. Looking forward to the Northern Photography Show 👌
got my first camp of the year this weekend. heading up place fell, mainly thanks to one your videos. may have to try borrowdale next
😮 I love it! Great to see Simon here! Two of the best! 👌🏻
You should have signed off with ... and it's good night from him. Nice review. I only did the Lake District once but one of my trips back to the UK I will plan around spending a few days there
Hi Thomas. I stay at the YHA Youth Hostels spread all over the Lake District at very good prices. I am 72 and they still let me in. Take Care GarryUK
The Ant & Dec of photography !!!
Couldn’t agree more. I go on a Photography trip staying in the Caravan Park in Keswick - just me and my dog every Feb and October. Don’t care how cold or rainy it is and I’ll take it any day over a crowded beach in Spain :)
Thank you for yet another incredibly inspiring vid! I became so excited when Simon Baxter jumped in! :D you guys are phenomenal! great info and tips, will sure to get a membership in the nationaltrust fond as well! Cheers! looking forward for more great colabs with you and Baxter! :)
Now all we need is for a Heaton, Baxter, Danson, Popsys road trip to the states to go on a 10 day hike with Dave Morrow and my life would be complete!!
Nice info abt Lake District ,,thanks for sharing . Loved the great sense of humour at the end ..
brilliant v log love Keswick
Please make A Photographer's View for Zion!
Great to see you two together. Great information as always. Would like to see Sean Tucker as a guest
Amazing video 👍
Great video. Really useful to hear about locations you both like. I made lots of notes!!!
I am glad you mentioned mobility isues. Its easy when your a spring chicken, but I am limited in the distance i can walk, so such information is good .Thank you. I do love the lake distirct just need to leave the wife behind. so i can enjoy the walk lol.
I’m really liking these A Photographer’s View videos. My biggest regret about moving back to Canada from the UK last year was that I never got to see the Lake District. I was in Guildford and never had the opportunity to make it up north. One day I’ll return, and thanks to you guys I know where I’ll head to now.
At least for the moment I have Banff National Park here in Alberta to satisfy my landscape photography needs - Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, kananaskis country, etc.
Thomas, have you ever thought about coming to Canada for landscape photography? I think you would enjoy the scenery.
Please keep these videos up. They are terrific.
Cheers.
Great vid!
From memory legal wild camping is limited to no more than three nights in the same place,100 meters from any main road and you must leave no trace that you were there.
I'm off to the Lake District starting early July for a week and a half. Not ideal I know, but it's the only time I can go this year.
Oddly enough the place I'm most looking forward to seeing and photographing is the valley seen looking North from Dale Head that is immediately to the West of the one you're talking about.Maybe I'll get both done on the same day,if not it's not too far from where I'm staying near to Ambleside.
