Gilberts felt like those free to play mobile games that show ads everytime you take 1 hit whereas alex made a game that actually looks and feels semi-complete.
I am a begginer in game development and for me it's so inspiring to create something like this in 24 hours, both of u guys are so amazing 😍, i hope one day i could also achieve that level of skills 😁

Can you little graphs in your animation tab and how did you smoothly add this shooting animation where the impact or the force exerted by the bullet actually animated s the gun so well
OK so here's an honest un biased vote, I like the roller robot one, the mechs look cool, has a mwnu, sound affects and unique game play, but I like the other ones voice and accent very soothing

This is Alex Rak. My American arch-enemy. He's challenged me to the ultimate Unity gam-dev face-off, where we each get 24 hours to make a game, where the winner gets this exclusive print-out of this Minion art-and in the end, only you, the viewers, can decide who wins.
But what you don't understand, couldn't possibly understand, is how badly I need this print-out. I don't expect you to get it, sitting on the other side of this screen, slack-jawed, gawping, munching on stale crisps you should have thrown out weeks ago. It's that kind of action I respect from you, fine, but the negative aspect of "men of action" is not the thoughtlessness but the inability to think. You cannot consider, you can't project yourself outward, you cannot, under any circumstances that could be devised to facilitate it, ever come within a thousand yards of comprehension of my indelible, my desperate, my aching and slavering desire for this print.
That's fine, that's fine, O.K.? So you're not good at thinking. Good. Don't. Don't think. Just do what I tell you. Vote for me, it doesn't matter what I make, it doesn't matter if you see it or like it and it doesn't even matter if you're personal friends with Alex Rak or that you play golf with his father on the weekends. Don't think, don't even _feel._ Just do, do what I'm _ordering_ you to do right now, and vote my game the best, because not getting that print is unacceptable, not just for me but for you, and everyone you know. After having watched quite a few of these game jam videos, I've come to a few hardline rules:
1. Never scrap work
2. ALWAYS do something you're familiar with
3. This is not the time to be creative and experiment, get serious and efficient
4. Never fucking scrap work

Hi! Really nice video! I have a couple of questions, how did you make the pc to be interactable and it rendered UI elements on it's screen. I'm trying to make a phone that would be called when a certain key is pressed. Using arrow keys you would be able to interact with it. Thanks in advance!
I apologize for the late response. It’s actually very simple. In this game I just used cubes and 3D text game objects. You can make the different menus by using empty game objects as the parents with the objects as the children. And toggling the parents on and off.

if you go by complexity then shooting the running men heading towards you is better but if you go by creativity then the go cart game was the better choice I feel but overall both have their own unique taste to it and so Gud job guysss

curious both of em had magnets involved, but i think magnetic rumble got more done in less time, or felt more complete, while the other has mechanics ive never seen before, which seems more fun if fully developed, i know that u lost a couple of hours developing another idea but, i would consider it fair

I made them! It’s just a simple grass texture from free textures.com or something then I just overlayed a graph thingy. Thought of Garry’s mod for that.

I actually love Gilbert's game idea, and most of the implementations, but the problems are just too great, as-is, to enjoy it. The enemies become too numerous, intolerably persistent, and there's no buffer between them touching you and you taking damage. At first it seems really easy, but then it quickly becomes annoying as you try to buy upgrades.

100%. Split screen would be so much fun
Returning trash to some point for small monetary reward is a no-fun mechanism. Rule of thumb: if it feels like work, probably not a good mechanism.

@@GilbertGames Well idk about other people but I absolutely would be. Heres some of my suggestions: add more types of enemies,
an actual map,
a movements system (look at Titanfall 2 as an example) would be fun
And weapons, you should do them as evolutions, start with a pistol, reach a certain lvl (5 or something) by killings enemies and then choose a base weapon aka shotgun, sniper, AR, or something more unique like knives, and other types of weapons, and then the more you level up every 10 levels or so you get a choice to evolve your weapon but there's multiple paths, an example: Bloons TD FPS
