This is right before he went to live at Mt Baldy Zen Center. He says that he was drinking sometimes 3 bottles of red wine before and during performances, but I can't see that he's affected. A great performance from a man who says his life was in tatters at this point.

Even Leonard Cohen’s music struggled in the US when he was alive, he was popular in Canada and in Europe. With American mainstream being the one that dictates what music is truly popular in the West, I fear we won’t get another Leonard Cohen for a very long time, if ever again :c
@@cmondude.. You're definitely right. How many years has it been since we've had a true genius come along. They won't put the spotlight on them now, they want it dumber and people fan the flame. I hate what has happened to music and life in general. Business monopolies are destroying the world.
Lots of talented people out there getting drowned out by algorithms and the flood of crappy AI content. If you told me the last 6 or so years of pop songs were written by AI I wouldn't even be surprised.

@Batman10166 you're so right, somoetimes I go through the day, and suddenly realise I haven't listened to him, andI feel so happy as I put his music on. And I cry because I love his work and want to see him again. My favourite at the minute is Closing Time. my partner and I drive along in the car singing the words with him. he makes me so happy.

Thanks 'MoltenCoreMusicr'.I saw Leonard Cohen in Stockholm, SWEDEN. Was it 1982? I recall now. It was a freezing cold February evening. Inside the Concert hall in the center of Stockholm city, where Mr Cohen and his band were on the stage bringing us so much poetry and music. A night to remember. Afterwards Karin and me we drank red wine in her small apartment. A week later a popular Swedish DJ Kjell Alinge (dead and gone like Leonard Cohen) called the Canadian L. Cohen jokingly: "LEONARDO COHENSKY" in his popular weekly Eldorado radio program. Later in the autumn before the cold arrived I left Sweden for Bangkok, ASIA. Today I am 72 married and I live in Thailand and became a CZcamsr in 2021.(czcams.com/video/ktZEIvKTfTw/video.html) Karin found a tall accountant or maybe an actuary Sven G. Andersson and moved in with him. They live in Stockholm. But, Karin & Johnny (Johannes) we both still remember and cherish LEONARD COHEN!

Where did they played the show, in all Canada? Who is Rebecca DeMornay? Men what a great performence of L Cohen, ( love the chors ) he must be a hero in your country... I lived in Toronto for a summer and was in Montreal to. . . great expirence. Good old teen memories!

Other than him changing the line "give me crack and anal sex" to "speed and careless sex" which I suppose he did for t.v. this is the best rendition I've heard of this prescient poem/song. Too bad though, because when he wrote it crack and aids seemed to be the modern plague. The latter still is unfortunately and there have also been two genocides in Africa (Rowanda & Sudan)since other than the one in Bosnia/Serbia, at the very time this was performed.
