    I don't have issues with the Far Cry 5 map lacking variety, it has it's clear regions of farmland, riverlands and mountains. My big issue is rather that the map is too crowded with peggie/resistance events all the time. You can't drive for five seconds without something happening. It feels spoofy and really breaks immersion for me.

    I was MUCH MORE excited about playing wildlands at first, and was iffy about Far Cry 5 because of some of the things I heard. Maybe its because I never played the ghost recon series much, but despite the interesting setting and story set up, I got bored fairly quickly with the wildlands mission repetition. It also felt like FOREVER to get anywhere unless I found a helicopter to use. FC5 on the other hand was able to get its hooks into me. I enjoyed solving the underground bunkers and many other side activities and found the world and gameplay to be a lot more enjoyable, and a lot less empty space between objectives. I also really enjoyed Far Cry 3 and 4 before this, but I normally prefer 3rd person shooters over 1st person. Idk maybe it was I felt the open world in wildlands was almost TOO big for it's own good and far cry 5 felt just right, though I completely agree about the silent protagonist being a dumb decision. I plan on giving Wildlands another shot, just figured I'd throw my 2 cents in. Just weird because Wildlands initially interested me way more but it was FC5 that I saw through to the end. Weird how that works out sometimes.

      I found that the map variety and size made me and my friends ecstatic. I am a creative minded and intuitive person, I enjoy games that are mechanical and free roam. Wildlands seemed to have many different ways to best each mission. Some "levels" want you to deploy cameras without being detected at all. It could take 5 to 20 tries to best them with each one bringing something different to the table. The RNG feels refreshing, no situation exactly the same as the next. I flew a helicopter around the entire map with a friend and it took nearly 2 hours with still some grey spots. I love that personally, it feels endless and I can appreciate that. I hate being bounded by a closed knot story. The mercenaries mode and DLCs also add to the endlessness for me. Not to mention to variation in bioms, there are salt flares, snowy tundras, mountainous jungles, swampy estuaries, cliff side wastelands, so much more than I can even mention off the top of my head. In addition, I find myself while travelling to enjoy the length of the trip as I get run into transport trucks and random gunfights that add to the RNG experience. I feel boundless when playing Wildlands, if it had some more diversity in animations and graphical upgrades like Breakpoint, it could be unquestionably the greatest military shooter free roam yet to date. I respect your opinion, this is just my take. Thank you.

    I really don't get A) why they removed the system from Wildlands in breakpoint of choosing targets, because that was super cool, and B), why "outpost liberation" and radio towers are a thing in far cry where it makes no sense at all, but not in Wildlands where your entire plot revolves around liberating an area of operations, but you are never actually capable of doing so?

    • @yousillygoose6958
      @yousillygoose6958 Před 2 lety +1

      Wildlands wants to be boundless in that no matter how many missions you complete, you cant completely liberate the sectors as then it will limit the liveliness and action of the game. It also ups the realism is some sense as these drug posts are often replenished in real life. Only once the drug lord is defeated are operations unstabalized, but still, there is always another boss. It's a cut one head and three more grow out of it type deal.

    I played Wildlands for a while, actually i felt bored after the repetitive mission and also the gameplay and the physics in this game was not good despite of huge map, maybe the huge map and a lot of missions which you can play it in the same way every time made me feel boring, on the other hand Far cry 5 really have more physics improvements specially driving cars, flying, swimming, weapon's detait and climbing . About the story, i found Far cry have more solid story the Wildlands, voice actors in the game was really amazing speciilay the voice of Joseph Seed and John Seed . missions different, main missions are made creatively, side missions not repetitive and the best missions to earn money and perks was the prepper stash missions which are very good and need to think how to get in to the room, mine or a cave ...etc ...
    Well, i liked Far cry more and i didn't feel boring when i played it .

    • @yousillygoose6958
      @yousillygoose6958 Před 2 lety

      The damage physically and touch to reality are amazing in Wildlands. Sure you cannot jump and barrel role, but that's not reality. Real operatives only do what's present in the game. The RNG of the game and diverse location layouts (not to mention 11 different bioms) removes the repetition for me. I find people who cannot utilize creativity and do the same missions the same way every time complain about the repetition. The developers have provided us with a game with no boundaries, or many boundaries if you play guns blazing the whole time. You can choose to take out generators or shoot lights, distract with bullets or grenades, attack from behind or from in front; you can choose to have a sniper mounted above reckoning while you push down, make faction wars whole you impeccably infiltrate unnoticed, you can knock bodies out and carry then away. The possibilities and contingencies are a rejuvenating addition, but only to the characters that know how to use them. Still I understand your take, maybe try playing solo or if you have maybe with a mellow friend?

I decided to fly over the whole map with him to excite ourselves further. The map is absolutely ecstatic and lustrous. From salt flats, barren wastelands to wet marshlands; snowy mountain tops, hot deserts, to mountainous jungles, reflective rivers and lakes to massive farmlands. I love the feel for the game, the strategy, the constant chess game happening along with the seamless RNG based interactions. The repetition is all subdued by the player. It's your decision whether you make it repetitive or not. Also, dont you think its immersive because in real life, operatives go through their training fro mission very similar very often. You cant expect drug lord to each have different defense system s and whatnot. To be honest, I can tell you haven't played that far into the game because later on the cartel has different fighting styles, behaviours and weapons as well as a various base layouts. It takes a few hours, but once done, you unlock a whole new world of wonder.

    Far Cry 5 feels like Far Cry, where as Wildlands (and Breakpoint) do not feel like Ghost Recon to me. They feel more like a GTA V map with functional gameplay that riffs hard on MGS V, which makes sense since The Phantom Pain and GTA V were (and still are) both kind of a big deal. Plus it was released around the time of other Ubisoft games like AC Origins and Watch Dogs 2 that also both tried outside inspirations from what the series had been known for. Whereas Far Cry has just tweaked, improved, experimented and modified the formula over the years. So I'd have to give it to FC5 just for my own personal opinion.

I think Wildlands has a lot more realism as opposed to far cry 5 for example things like the bliss, or the fact that you can jump like 50 feet forward with 50 pounds of gear or just holding 4 weapons in arsenal including rocket launchers and flamethrowers you just pull out of no where. Don't get me wrong Wildlands isn't completely realistic either but I think it has the edge over Far Cry 5 and Far Cry has always been unknown for being a lot more arcadey and using things like magic in its games. I mean no disrespect just stating what I think, it is totally fine to like Far Cry 5 more.

    I hope Ubisoft hurry up with another recon game I played breakpoint and I played for 4 hours and sold it. The map was difficult to understand far cry map is great. Although motherland was great and fallen ghosts

    Wildlands control and gameplay just felt goofy after spending significant time in FC5. (Played through twice: once on normal, and once on hard.)
    I was kind of looking forward to trying out ghost recon as a late entry to the series, but couldn’t get into it at all. Actually refunded wildlands after an hour of play. Maybe Breakpoint??…but I’m skeptical now.
    FarCry 100%. Sorry but it’s a no brainer for me

    Also I want to add that far cry five’s world is actually better than wildlands in my opinion. the reason why is there is a lot less human activity is because remember the cult has taken over a county and unlike in Bolivia were santa blanka would only harm the people if they interfered with their drug trade, the Peggie’s would take anyone who they believe to be a sinner straight from their homes and this is another reason why you don’t see much people or activity also this is Montana we’re talking about each piece of land is acres away from other houses so obviously there’s not gonna be much life other than the animals between those spaces but that’s what makes far cry five so beautiful, it’s the perfect blend between forests, fields, mountains and any other recreational areas that the county has built up around. its perfect, from the prison to the towns to just the beautiful mountains and I love far cry five’s world so much more than Bolivia‘s.

  • @sirscraggy420
    @sirscraggy420 Před 2 lety +2

    Far cry 5 was the worst of the series in my opinion. Making your character was cool, but them having no personality made cutscenes feel off. Far cry 5 told a story, but was insanely predictable. Far cry 3 and 4 were great because of the character development, as well as the characters in them. I can't say I remember the names of any Far cry 5 characters other than Cheese Burger the bear simply because it was meme. I just bought Ghost Recon Wildlands, I loved future soldier and have only heard good things about its open world and storyline. These seem like odd games to compare, but I believe I will ultimately enjoy this game more than Far cry 5 - one of the biggest disappointments from a great series.

    • @quartermaster2809
      @quartermaster2809 Před 2 lety +2

      I understand it's your opinion but Far cry 5 isn't the worst of the series, infact it's one of the best. And why do you say the story is unpredictable? It's not a cliché by any standards unless you've been playing other games with a manbun villain with his cult taking over your town.
      The protagonist part is understandable, I agree with no protagonist being a down of the game but the way it was made... The protagonist of the game is you, if you notice Joseph seed and his brothers and sister you will see that they are talking directly to the player than the deputy.
      You can't argue on the story part since not only is it subjective but also the story is well written, specially the Jacob arc of the game.
      Far cry 5 is the only game in the series that never got me bored after finishing the campaign, there's always something to do.

      @@quartermaster2809 for many people who liked the other Far Cry games Far Cry 5 is the weakest. The region checkpoint kidnapping system is really, really annoying.
      Yes the sidequests are more fleshed out in 5 but the characters are all over the top and forgettable.
      The tone of the game is silly yet at the same time it wants to be taken serious with the whole cult thing.
      Me not being an American I also didn't connect with the setting at all, at least that I think must be the reason why so many like it yet I didn't at all.
      I had expected a deep story about religious extremism in America instead I got a parody of American culture.

    • @quartermaster2809
      @quartermaster2809 Před 2 lety +1

      @@mad_fleming i agree with you on that, like the regional kidnapping was annoying and an hinderance to the world exploration. But I think it's necessary for the plot, it's based off miraculous events and just spiritual all the way with drugs and all.
      I'm not American but looking at Montana made up my mind to visit that part of the country one day. I never really liked to visit America as a child, never really took interest in it but the beauty of Montana shown through the game is just really something.

    Far Cry 5 should've been in 3rd person and you can see your character, and also be able to go 1st person like Wildlands does. Then it would be much better. If your character was a person and talked and you could see him it would fix this issue with Far Cry 5.
