- In this video you can see how to enable AUX on your BMW e90 car.
You need to make 1 change for this option:
1) search for AUX and change it from no_aux to aux.
The same procedure can be used to code BMW E81, E82, E84, E87, E88, E89, E90, E91, E92, E93

And BMW standard tools software, I got it from bimmer geeks website, but it seems germans did a german thing a decided to be super not cool about it and forced them to pull it down.
I got it on an ooold notebook somewhere who knows where, sorrz, but it must be on the intranets somewhere or on some warz site.

Hi, if AUX is visible on the screen then should be only an connection issue, maybe the connection cable from AUX connector to the Radio is broken, you can check the connections

Hi, first you can try with ISTA D to see if you have correct communication, also an idea is to check all data from. MAN file, this should be empty before starting, if you have something there delete it. 😊

Great video, exactly what I need to do. This is the first time I use NCS Express, when I try to select FRM I get an error (COAPI-2000). But, when I select CAS it loads the VIM properly.
Is there anything I must do to be able to access the FRM?

Hi, thanks for your comment, there is no special thinks which need to be done to access FRM, should work similarly with CAS, please check if you cable is set on D-CAN or on K-CAN (if you have a switch there in cable). Thanks for making this video. Quick question regarding the chasis selection . I have a 2009 5dr hatchback 116i (E87) and noticed in your video when selecting chasis it doesn't show E87 (it skips from E85 to E89). Does this mean it won't work on E87?
Hi, I'm very happy to hear that my information helps you. Regarding your question, for E87 you need to select E89. E89 is for (E81, E82, E84, E87, E88, E89, E90, E91, E92, E93). So in conclusion will work also for your car. 😊

Is interesting, you should have an TRC file, in that TRC file are read the data from the car when you do read ECU. Did you perform read of the ECU from ncs expert?

Hi, I do not have experience with updating one of the car modules yet, but I assume what can help you. I assume somehow you need to update the year of the car using NCS expert and from what I know you have 2 modules where the year is stored (you can search on Google how to do this, I didn't do this until now, so I do not know exactly the procedure) and if you have a new RAD module from an 2004 car, I assume you need to change the yer at 2004. I sow somebody doing this with an e60 or e90 with an FRM module, I can't remember exactly now. You ca try this, and after changing the yer I assume the car will be capabile to identify this new RAD. Is just an assumption, maybe you can read also on forums other opinions. 😊

Hi, I knew at some point that you can reset ECU by flashing an empty .MAN file, but if somethink like this is not working please try this (I found this on a forum):
1. Load NCSExpert.
2. Load Profile and select Expertmode
3. F1 (VIN/ZCS/FA)
4. F3 (ZCS/FA f .ECU)
5. Choose E89 (for the E9X)
6. Select CAS
7. F6 (BACK)
8. F4 (Process ECU)
9. Select the Module I want to Revert back to Stock.
10. F2->Choose "SG_Codieren->ok
11. F3->to start coding the ecu with factory settings according to the vehicle VO.

Hi, if you want somebody to enable this option for you, you need to search for somebody in your are who can do diagnosis for BMW and ask him to enable this, If you want to do this alone, you need to learn some basic coding for BMW. You need an BMW obd "INPA" diagnosis cable, an pc with this applications installed on it (NCS DUMMY and NCS expert). You can see in my firs video about programing what you need to start programming. 😊

I'm this case you need somebody with an OBD to code it in Radio module, you can do an search on internet, maybe you can found somebody in your area, also if you want, you can buy an OBD for you and to do it on your own😊

Yes, if you what to work AUX you need to enable it from the Radio module, there is no other posibility. I assume your car is an bmw e90.

Hi, I assume will not work with default profile. But I have here in comments of the video a discussion regarding how to create this profile. Also I copied that message here, try to follow this instruction : I will put here what is inside this profile, maybe is benefic and for other people if they want to see what is inside. So, you need to go where is installed NCSEXPERT and then to go in to PFL folder and there you have more profile, my recomadation is to create a copy for one of them and rename this copy as "01_expertenmode_ver_3.0.pfl" and change what is inside (you can edit the file with Notepad) with the following:

Software are NCS EXPERT and NCS Dummy and I have an INPA bmw cable wich is connected to the OBD2 connectors of the car and to the laptop.

@@BMWEMS When trying to load the chassis e89 (and specifically I need for e87) in ncs dummy, the option is not there. In the log it says that it has only loaded files for e39 and e46. Could you please upload your SP-Daten file for e89 to the onedrive? It should be in C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN. If it is not there then I don't think the tutorial will work for other people who need e89 etc - maybe putting a disclaimer in the description about this could help too. Thank you!

Hi, no, it will not work, for f10 you need another type of cable, is an ENET cable an you need another type of application, I think the name is "E-sys". 😊

Hi, this depends by your new Radio, but if you will do an upgrade I assume the new one will already have this configuration. Also if you want to enable AUX this is an very easy job and maybe you can found somebody in your city who can enable it. 😊

You are welcome. You will fond the software on the internet, some people are giving you also the software with the cable. Yes, will it work, will be nice if tha cable has that button on it (is a button to change the protocol), I think without that button will work any on the cars until 2008, I have one with button and I'm using it on BMW e90, car from the video is a BMW e90 from 2005

Hi, yes, you are right, but please take care to open "FSW_PSW.trc" since there are more files with. trc extension. NCS Dummy is only an easy readable interface over that "trc" file. 😊

I think no, at least no without an device connected to OBD connector, because you need to change this from Radio memory. (from what I know there are also some device which are working with mobile phone, but I think the question is if is possible to do this from on board menu or something like this) 😊

Hi, I didn't try with other tools, I tried only with NCS expert, but if you have acces at radio module configuration, I assume you ca do it with any type of tool. 😊

Seems to not have the radio module, may be bluetooth adaptater will work with ncs expert.
Hmm, from what I know, the NCS expert is working only with INPA cable and some ethernet cable... But you can try 😊

Hi, I didn't use this tool, I checked on internet and I observed that this tool can be also used for coding.You can check if you have RAD component there and check what can you code for RAD module.

Didnt manage to get it started at first, cable wasnt detected until I change port setting to COM1. Ignition and Cable now detected.
I did all the steps but had no RAD1, had RAD2 instead. I used that.
Followed all the step just to see that AUX was active in NCSDummy.
Unfortunately, the radio still doesnt display AUX - just TUNER, CD, USB (which I cant click too).
Whats the best step forward? Any thoughts on what the problem is?
Hi, so you found RAD module (RAD2 should be also ok, depend on RAD variant), you found there AUX, you set it on aktiv but is still not visible in the menu? Can you check again if the settings (set to aktiv) were taken?, maybe this configuration was not flashed in module.
@@BMWEMS Yes, same as your vid. It was already set to aux (2nd option). Tried it two times. Reset the whole process and same results. Still not active on the radio. Radio works good btw, CD and Tuner works fine.

This is a good question, I think depend on the options of the car, but is not nice to have entire equipment and is only disabled 😁

Hello, I have done this tutorial, for me shows that the Aux is already active so I don’t need to coding. But on my Prof. Radio I just get the options Radio, Cd and USB. I lost Aux while installing a Android head unit 10,5 inch on my dashboard. Now I lost a lot of money for it and I can’t use because is necessary to be connected on Aux. Hi, let see if I understood correctly. So you changed your BMW radio with an aftermarket radio with Android, right? or somehow android unit is connected at your BMW business/professional radio?
@@BMWEMS no, I still have the bmw prof radio installed, it’s just a android display for the dash, it’s connected on Bmw Radio and needs to be connected on Aux to listen to music. But now I have no Aux anymore whit or without android head unit on the dash. I hope you understand me
Ok, I understood, is veary interesting what is happening there. I heard people who tell me that the AUX was missing after some works, but it was disabled form coding. If in your case, in the RAD module on NCS expert/dummy is still there, I do not have an soution, but maybe you can try to check all conections from the BMW radio, maybe there is an Hardware check for AUX. Also you can try to disconnect all wires(wich are connected to BMW radio) of Android unit and check again the menu and also the coding to see if is still set to active. Also you can try to set it to inactive, to code it and then to set it again to active and to code it. :)

Do you have the sw available?
Also didn’t have the same profiles as you in NCS EXPERT (0:37 time)
I added the 01.expertenmode_ver_3.0.pfl but get the error while trying to launch it “prufsumme falsch!”
Even if I use another profile, the “Start” option on F1 doesn’t show.
Instead “FG/ZCS/FA shows (0:41)
And if I were to choose “Chassi” that shows up in F2, and choosing car model, no FRM options shows up.
Are my files correctly installed?
Is not mandatory to have there FRM, also is ok if you have any module with "expert" in name, if you don't have FRM, you can select CAS, or something else, this selection is used only to take some coding information about the car 😀

In my NCS expert I can load profiles, but after that my F1 button doesn’t change to “start”. But “chassi” appears, and after choosing my chassi, no other pop up window appears, where I can choose ECU (Cas, frm or nrfm).
So I can’t continue; l can not “process ECU” and search for the radio module.
Is my NCS EXPERT set up as it should?
Try to reinstall ncs expert, download standard tool from here : www.bimmergeeks.net/downloads and inside the archive there are some instructions about how to install this tools 😀

Hello mate I've managed to get the coding for aux sorted but now I am having problem, my brake pad sensor is showing after playing about on ncs and I can't get it to go off, I am having the 5de1 and 5de0 error codes show.
Any help will be appreciated
Hi, I assume this errors has no connection with coding of the AUX since this are different modules. Maybe your service interval reached value 0 for break pad or you have an issue with brake sensor, maybe there is a bad wire connection or the sensor is damaged (can be damaged even if is looking good outside). First maybe you can try to reset service interval for brake pads (rear and front) and after that maybe in the second step you can check the sensor. 😊
I think it is down to me playing around on nscexpert not knowing what I'm doing😂 the service interval for the brake pads is showing _ _ _ _ _ and reset does nothing, think I'm just going to remove the brake pad sensors tbh 😂
Yes, I think is a good idea to check the sensor, you can also try to do an power on reset to the ECU (by removing and reconnecting one of the battery terminal), also you can try to reverse the changes, there is a procedure te recover default data in a module but with this procedure you will lose all configuration done until now 😁. But if you are seeing there - - - - when you are trying to reset the interval I assume is something wrong with the brake pad sensor. But is only an assumption. 😉
@@BMWEMS I have already disconnected negative terminal and I'm going to leave overnight, if this doesn't do the trick how would I go about reseting to default module as I've kinda figured out how to use ncs and would be able to code the aux back in. Thanks
I do not remember correctly the entire procedure but I will search on forums were I found this, but you changed only in RAD module, because I'm almost sure that this module will not impact the brake system, maybe only if you changed something in other module.
is the program free for laptop ?
Normally you can receive it with the cable or if not, you can search on forums for this applications and I'm sure you will found some version for free. I received them with the cable.

I checked today the RAD1 setting an here is what I found regarding PDC in RAD12.C10:
- PDC_ON_OFF - I asuume used to enable/disable PDC;
- VOL_PDC_MIN/MAX_RAD - I do not know for what are this SETTINGS (maybe this settings are about volume depends on shape of the car) but there you can select the chasy type, so I suggest you to not change something here;
OFFSET_ENT_PDC_RAD - here I assume is difference of sound between volume of radio ond volume of PDC sound;
DELTA_PDC_ENT_RAD - here I saw you can decrease rad volume during PDC on, but I do not know what value should be there;
PDC_ADAPTATION_F_R_RAD - Heare are also setting regarding the chassy shape, so I recommend you to not change something here;
These are all options found by me regarding PDC.

You are welcome 😊. You can also check with ISTA+ to see if there are visible. Maybe is a bad connection somewhere.

@@zohaib445 yes, basically the BMW has almost the same modules on all cars, I think all series 1 and 3 has the same modules from 2005 to 2011 (sometimes there are small differences in the name, for e.g. FRM on older and NFRM on newest, but is the same module with some updates). In ncs Dummy you have there (e89) and under this you can see all cars which are included in this series.
so for my e87, I will choose the e89 chassis and frm ecu on NCS expert ?
@@zohaib445 yes and no, you will select e89, but depend on what you want to do you will select a different module. For e.g. in this video is RAD (radio) module selected to activate AUX, you can follow exactly the steps from the video an will work. You can see that in first steps you need to select a module from where ncs Expert to read some identification code of the car, there is the step where I selected FRM, but you can select each one you want form that list (there are only 3 modules on the list on my car).
