- In this video I share my opinion of the Abus Gamechanger after about 10 months of use, off and on. Check out my review to see the weight, how it ventilates, and if it can be used for other events besides the fastest road races.

“If I was bald, if I didn’t have any hair, that would be great” me: I have entered the chat 😂
So the abus is about middle of the field in most aero helmet tests when it comes to pure speed. But I think it looks awesome, and the glasses dock is amazing. Actually the ultimate aero helmet right now would still be the evade 2. But that thing is stupidly expensive. I myself use the met Trenta 3k, which is also very narrow and this performs well in aero testing, as well as the kask Utopia. The latter is very well ventilated, much better then the gamechanger and evade, but it gets uncomfortable because of pressure points on my forehead.
I really appreciate your input here! I have been testing the MET Trenta for several months as well and that helmet ticks a lot of boxes. It is a great summer time "aero" helmet. I will have a review up on it eventually.
Worth the expense, or are there cheaper and better alternatives to its aero credentials and for all around use?
I am not sure about cheaper but there are several options out there now that are aero-ish and also have better airflow, like the MET Trenta, POC Ventral, Giant Rev Pro, LEM Motivair to name a few.
@@BlackWaterCyclist My issue is that I cycle in Canada, so early morning rides can get pretty breezy on my nut. The interest in the aero is the limited ventilation openings, besides the obvious aerodynamics.
I'm using probably the cheapest aero helmet, wich is Force Orca used by pro team Intermarche Wanty Gobert. U Can have it for under 65€, with mips is about 20€ more. Only downside is it haven't sunglasses port.
@@romanpramuka2703 I love comments like this! Thank you for helping out Poalo with finding a cheaper aero helmet. I know that Ekoi will have some cheaper aero helmets occasionally as well. Also LEM has the Volata with more vents but it is $65 USD. lemhelmets.com/collections/road/products/volata-gelmotion-road-bike-helmet
@@poalotesta7743 I mentioned a few more to Roman below like the LEM Volata: lemhelmets.com/collections/road/products/volata-gelmotion-road-bike-helmet
Abus Gamechanger looks awesome. However, it is not comfortable to wear. The pads are too thin. I own one matte blue. Although I like the colour and the aesthetic , the feeling doesn’t work with my head.
I prefer my Kask Protone and Valegro. They are much more comfortable to wear.
So, would you say that it could be downright uncomfortable on a bald head? Cause I'm on the lookout for something that won't let too much light through and this thing is otherwise a perfect choice.
@@nagylevi3827 it depends on the shape of your head. Also please consider how hot for this Gamechanger to wear. The aero dynamic design will keep your head hot.
Hang on giro sold is helmets back in the 80s by telling us they were faster than a naked head ! Marketeers. Grrrrrr!!
Skip helmet you need radar!
