This method WORKED for my 2004 GX470!!! Don't bother with other videos! By far this was the SIMPLEST method to program the key remote. The last part with the key inserted is most likely the tedious part. You gotta wait for the dash red light to completely stop blinking... could take up to 40 seconds [seems FOREVER...] keep watching the light... once it stops blinking, take it out.... wait 5 seconds... then insert it, turn on ignition, engine should start! Take it out, try to unlock/ lock the doors via the remote, if it does, SUCCESS! CONGRATULATIONS , you're done buddy! Thanks Ry!

Thanks allot! Got my keys from 1010keys, followed your direction and it worked perfectly on my 05 GX470. I did have to reset the truck to eliminate all old keys with the 6 key insert and 7 door openings before reprogramming.

Furthermore, the 04’, Lexus, RX 330 has a red “Security” light, NOT an “Immobilizer” icon…

I lost my 2nd key for our 2004 ES 330. I got a new key from Amazon and had it cut locally. The programming did not work the first time I tried it. However, I tried it again and it worked perfectly. Thank you!

Hello. Thank you so much. My ECU broke and put a new ECU from eBay.
Your Video helped me with many more problems. your solution helped me so so much.
Otherwise I had to change the coil parts which is behind the air bag etc.
Also that unit has a special bolt I would have problems too.
Worst scenario was to find IC900 chip and move 2 of them from my old ECU to the new one.
I don't forget I am an amature, who just follows CZcamsrs like you.

My son got a used 2007 Lexus GX470 with only 1 key (no buttons) and we assumed it was the 'master' key. I went to Ace Hardware and got a 2nd spare key (no buttons) but the guy had to wipe all learned/programmed keys and then he reprogrammed them both - but he didn't tell me which one he made the "master" key.
We just got a 3rd key (WITH buttons) and when I tried the instructions with the original key (which I thought was the 'master' key) it didn't work. When I tried the 2nd spare key, THEN the instructions worked to program the immobilizer in the new 3rd key (with remote).
So the moral of the story is.... you must use the 'master' key as your original key. But other than that, your instructions worked perfectly! Thank you!

Yup worked on My 08, now for the remote features.
This worked great to revive my aftermarket key that had lost its security pairing with the car. I didn't need to bring a second key I just did this routine and I was able to turn it in the ignition again

Hi Ry, just came across your video while doing more research in troubleshooting my immobilizer/no start issues on my 99 gs300. Wondering if you have any advice or recommend a qualified mobile locksmith to look at my car? A couple people have said maybe it's the antenna in the key ring area or communication with ecu? The issue is the immobilizer light will randomly not recognize the key when inserted and i would have to wait 15-45+ minutes with key in for it to possibly "re learn" but it seems to be getting worse after dealing with the problem for a few years now. Thank you

Great tuto. Worked on my 2005 GRJ120, that has NO DVD entertainment. Only one additional key pairing was possible, thus might have reached max keys paired. Kinda scared running thru the whole keys wipe procedure with 6 and 7 cycles ... thanks you.

Would it work if the master you have is the one that came from the original dealer where you have a key (to use for cutting) without any keyfob and the chip is not in the key but on a card with Lexus info, 1800 number and key code? Thanks :)

How long does it take for the key to programme with the light flashing...I've tried this twice and given up after waiting like 5 minutes with it flashing after doing the key lock and doors thing.
My 2005 Lexus gx470 I followed your instructions but at the point I put the new key into the ignition with the red light on steady it starts to blink 2 times then pause then blink once and keeps repeating this sequence do you have any idea what that might mean?

I purchased and had 2 keys cut. I was successful in programming the first key. But the second key I have been sitting for 15 minutes with the light blinking waiting for it to stop. It didn't take this long with first key...by far. What's wrong? How long should I wait?

I can’t for the life of it get my (new to us) 2005 ES330 into key programming mode with the 5 key inserts and 6 door openings. Same with an alternate procedure of hitting the gas pedal 5 times and the brake 6 times. I have 2 reportedly original keys for the vehicle (one with remote fob and 1 without). Might both these keys not be “masters”, like the valet key+card ? Is there a way to tell? My Autel 806 Pro unfortunately doesn’t program keys 😢
Hey does this work to program the lock/unlock buttons too? And do you happen to know if those upgraded switchblade style key fobs actually work?
Look at another video for programming the remote for the door lock/unlock and hopefully the trunk/hatch too. It is a different thing where you get the car into program mode, then hold both the lock/unlock buttons on the new remote.
This worked to program the key to the ignition but it doesnt work on the doors and trunk

I’m floored how you got it to start your 2009. If in fact you do have a rx350 2009 (didn’t mistype year) you were very lucky as dealer said you must have OBD scanner to complete. Meaning trip to dealer or buy your own.

Yes, do not do it. You need a "Master Key" to reprogram using this method. You will need to bring it to a dealer.

TBTH probably not. When brands switch generations they frequently change these processes at well. Many make sure it cannot be done by the consumer anymore. :(

Do you need to have a master key with buttons? I only have one spare key only (no fob). I am going to by an after market lexus key with fob and get it cut. Just want to make sure this will work.
I would imagine that the master would have buttons, but I would think that you would just need a working key with a chip that is already programmed to make this work.
A bit late, but understand that a Lexus valet key is cut to unlock the car and start it, but NOT able to UNLOCK Glovebox nor the Trunk.

You need to get it towed to a dealership, prove that you own it, and they can re-key it for you.
It doesn't work on my 2006 Lexus es330. When I did all steps with my current working key, and pull the key out, the Immobilizer doesn't not sit there solidly, back to blink again.
Did you try the pedal method? That one didn't work for my vehicle but it might for urs

That sounds right. Programming the remote is a different process. This is just for keys.

May be best to go to the dealership with proof of ownership (title) and pay to have them cut & program a key for you.

Tried this and other ways. Must have Master Key, which is what we lost; only have valet key which runs the car but this process won't do it without old key being a Master. Also have a OBD tool which says same thing, have to have Master key to work from. No Lexus Dealer in our county, going to check with locksmith tomorrow. Do like your video, clean and concise as compared to others.

was the key you started with a master or valet? did you make the new key a master or valet? How would you make a master key if all you had was a valet?
Need the dealership for that. You can do this procedure only if you have the master.
