TRX-4M gearbox mod

This is surely the first gearbox in the world to contain ATF Dexron III.
Here is how to modify an aftermarket alloy gearbox case, so it can run with automotive ATF gear oil. I also change from medium to low range gears.
If done properly, it will not leak.
The advantage of this mod is to provide long service intervals, whereas without it, you would have to take the 'box apart to clean and lube the internals every now and then.
Now I can just drain the oil and refill with the gearbox still on the car, just like a real one!

Much simpler than with its 1:10 big brother, surprisingly. I have been playing around with this for a while now and it is not leaking at all. Quite happy with the way it turned out so far. Making the links sounds easy, but it was tedious, to say the least. I am not a professional machinist, lets just leave it a that. Hehe. Thansk for sticking around, it means a lot to me.

I just started to get into the hobby. I like what you do but never will have the skill or knowledge to design or build custom parts like you do. I would however, pay for time and work. :D
