I like that you mentioned shopping your wardrobe first. In VA we have 4 distinct seasons and with a small closet, I only keep the current season out so it's easy to forget what I already have when I make plans for the next season. Now that I have been sewing more, I am trying to be more aware and look at what I already have, as well as plans I had and fabrics that didn't get sewn this time last year.

That’s exactly it. I try and shop my closet first- especially because I forget what I have after having my clothes put away from the previous season. You could always plan your colors around what you have in your fabric stash. Thanks for watching!

I live in VA, too. And since I’ve been a sewing, I like to shop my closet first and sew what’s missing.
