I've heard from dermatologist that studies showed that 10% of niacinamide is too high and doesn't work better than lower percent. Over 5% it's a bit too much irritative for the skin.

AAH THIS CHANNEL!!! ❤ As a girl with eczema prone skin, I’m a crazy skin enthusiast and over the years I’ve been learning a lot about my skin. Salicylic acid toner made all of my pimples/sebacious filmanets to disappear. And I used it together with hyaluronic acid serums. BUT I’ve been struggling with hyperpigmentation around my mouth, neck, armpits, knees and inner thighs for a long time and wanted to try something to solve this issue. I found your channel and the videos about lactic acid. I cannot tell you how much this channel has helped me!! But I’m still struggling to decide wether I should use lactic acid or glycolic acid for my hyperpigmentation. I would appreciate a helpful answer. Thank you!!! ❤ (I no lounger use salicylic acid, therfore I want to replace it in my routine with lactic or glycolic acid)

Could be hormonal, or you may just need clinical skin treatments + products instead.
*importante usar bloqueador solar y gorra
      *enjuagarlo al siguiente día

Moisturizer, Wear big sun hat and cover my face mask while treating it. If I have to go for a night out, I just use Purlisse BB cream with spf 40+.

    • @SkinZoneTV
      @SkinZoneTV  Před rokem +16

Unfortunately with the Ordinary you cannot mix niacinamide or retinol with their vitamin C.
      Morning:
      Cleanse, Vitamin C, moisturise, sunscreen
      Night:
Double cleanse, niacinamide followed by retinol in squalane, moisturise
You can incorporate lactic acid 2x per week in morning or evening routine as long as you wear sunscreen but use alone and without any other actives.
E.g - cleanse, lactic acid serum, moisturiser, sunscreen ☀️
Or night time - cleanse, lactic acid, moisturise.
Every skin is different so if you find that is too stimulating - you can reduce the retinol nights and do this instead
      Double cleanse, niacinamide + moisturiser

  • @SkinZoneTV

Hey guys! Here is an overview of starting with Vitamin A (Retinoids or Retinol)
We have a video in the works that will take a deep dive into this topic as we know it can be confusing!
    1. Granactive Retinoid = beginners
    2. Retinol = more advanced users who have already used vitamin a before
Retinoids and Retinol belong to the same Vitamin A family however Retinoids are less irritating then Retinols.
This is why we recommend you start your skincare routine with the Granactive Retinoid 2% (0.2 HPR Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate).
Once you have finished that bottle and your skin responds well, you can then order the Granactive Retinoid 5% (0.5 HPR Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate).
If you are starting with Retinol, keep in mind you may have some skin drying, flaking and sensitivity. Always patch test prior to use.
Retinol 0.2% - Advanced users who have already been using Vitamin A in their routine
Retinol 0.5% - Once you run out of 0.2% and your skin is responding well, you can use this stronger form of Retinol
Retinol 1% - advanced users who have been on the previous 0.2% and 0.5% Retinol for a few months
We hope this helps, and if you have further questions. Pop them in the comments because we will try and respond to you!
We will also consider your questions to include in our upcoming videos. XX

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation - both azelaic and lactic are great to help brighten the skin and fad dark spots.

Acne scars are deeper within the skin and will require a series of skin needling sessions by a professional skin therapist. Home care will be your Vitamin A, B, C, lactic acid liquid exfoliant.

    • @SkinZoneTV
      @SkinZoneTV  Před rokem +6

Hey Sara! Awesome sounds great, you just need to use them seperately in your routine. Try this routine for 4-6 weeks to allow your skin to adjust to the new actives.
      Every day in the Morning:
      Cleanse
      Tone (optional)
      ascorbic acid + alpha arbutin
      Moisturise
      Night 1:
      Cleanse
      Tone (optional)
      Exfoliant
      Moisturise
      Night 2:
      Cleanse
      Tone (optional)
      Adapalene
      Moisturise
      Night 3:
      Cleanse
      Tone (optional)
      Niacinamide
      Moisturise
      Night 4:
      Cleanse
      Tone (optional)
      Niacinamide
      Moisturise
      REPEAT
After 4-6 weeks if your skin is going well with no irritation, you can step up your retinoid by removing niacinamide from night 3 and replace with Adapalene. Continue with niacinamide for night 4 and then repeat back to night 1
Also cystic acne scars are tough to treat with skincare alone, as they are deeper within the skin. A series of treatments of microneeedling gives great results for deeper scarring. It will just depend on the scarring. Remember consistent use of the skincare is important and results take time (months) so be patient xx

OR you can use Alpha Arbutin in the morning and Niacinamide in the evening.
