  • In this special episode, Marty & Moog head to LA to try and impress the car department of Fast & Furious with a cheap car they’ve bought off the internet.
But with no tools, no parts and no time, they’re against the clock to try and convince the Vehicle Effects crew that they have what it takes to make it big in Hollywood…
A huge thank you to Universal Studios, Dennis, and Vehicle Effects for giving us your time, and access to the workshop!

We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.

The biggest thing about the c4 corvettes is that all of parts can be striped and sold on eBay. The lights for example are 400 dollars a piece used. The dash board is 500 dollars used, and the engine parts are worth a good chunk too.

reasoning : 84' was also the first year of the 700r4 trans , which couldn't handle the output of a properly tuned engine ..
there was a very specific procedure using ( at the time ) chevy only service tools to synchronize the throttle bodys , set tps sensors , minimum iac , and reset timing .. sure it will never be a 427 crossram , but gains of ~100+ hp could be had .

Obviously the 1984 was the dog year of a c4, but the later years saw lots of improvements. They can be acquired for cheap, modified easily and affordably. Pretty reliable too for what they are. I've owned many cars, and 3 C4s. Don't judge them until you experience it for yourself.

A 350 is a 350. Not hard at all to make these cars fast if you have even basic mechanical ability.
Crossfire is also not shit either. Its a long intake runner with dual TBI. Easy to tweak and tune. Larger injectors, freer intake and exhaust, change cam and retune.

CA used to have a rolling 30 year rule, but that was ended in 2004. 1975 and newer are not smog exempt. This smog compliance rule is what makes it so difficult to import foreign market cars to California.

The 84 was the only terrible year for the corvette in terms of power, that is it. Most Americans didn't like it since it wasn't a C3. But it had and has really great handling abilities and was better then most of the European competition. Now it got better every year like most cars, not all... in 85, literally the next year they got rid of the Crossfire Injection for tuned port injection and it instantly added power, more importantly torque... up to 325 ft lbs of it. And it went up each year since. Horsepower is a meaningless figure in terms of actual power, it only measures top speed honestly, torque is what you really want. And 325 isn't to bad. It's also just a small block V8 so it was super easy to modify. So it could be made even faster, just look at the Callaway Corvettes of the era. It is the most underrated Corvette of all, because older car guys hate them and newer ones aren't interested.
