Yup it's lamb. I wanted the same material as used in the film. Lamb also weathers very easily. I had one goatskin Indy jacket and I wasn't a fan of it. Ended up selling it to someone else. But you are totally right -- goat is built like a tank!

great video, I've had to use these fixes on my Indy jacket a couple of times. by the way if the hole in the sleeve opens up again when you go to fix it glue some fabric behind the hole so it has more structure and is more durable, you might have to open up the lining in the sleeve to do it but it really helps in keeping the hole fixed.

@@MickeyLeeBukowski Except you’ll have to open up the lining to get the to the leather beneath the surface then you have lining problem...one problem replaced by a larger one...did Wested send with the coat leather patches or swaths as sample leathers? If so, use tweezers to insert a tiny leather fill cut from the sample swath of leather matching the coat straight into the perforation and glue. Place a heavy weight and let sit 24 hours...only a penitent hombre will leave the coat alone for this process to complete itself and restore the coat to its full luster.

Happened to one of my Legacy LC jackets right on the action pleat. My solution was to make it my sloth at home jacket now. Did you get the Legacy version of ToD also?
I sure did! But that's not the Legacy. I got that one in 2016. The Legacy has not been weathered yet.
@@MickeyLeeBukowski All my current jackets are Wested Legacy versions. How do you find the fit between legacy and the older style, did you go the same size for both? Ha, the trick is have 3 of everything, one for daily, one incase you tear it, one to wet treat and weather the crap out of for cons.

You have to weather it if you want to look like the film jackets. There's just no way to do it with normal wear.
I have a strong feeling that the real Indiana Jones wouldn't worry about a small tear in his jacked... :D
