Hi, on the keyboard thing:
1. Actually invented by a company called Multi touch that apple acquired. Bayesian methods were already in use in input methods elsewhere too, but the patent expired before 2010 afaik.
2. Is in use in all major phones and this specific instance has more subtlety: it was actually inspired by the implementation of Google's spellchecker for search input at the time of launch, which is quite in/famous as the Absolute Argument For Machine Learning in modern software. It has since proliferated everywhere.
Memberships sound okay. I'd like to know what the actual terms are, of course. The Costco of filament printing supplies? Also, I love my subscription. It's so stressful to guess how much filament I'm going to use and decide how much filament I want to buy to get bulk discounts. Keep it coming!
If you start PETG that will be the change you need I think
I whould suggest on the keyboard thing, google, apple and microsoft touch keyboards all have practically infinate budgets and know everything eachover are doing. what makes you prefer the apple keyboard is that you probably learnt it first and apple have mantained it matching those original mussle memory, those of us who leant with google swipe type etc. and in societies where it is around us struggle a bit bit on apple keyboards.
Said in a different way as to "my design is the greatest"; I have always considered my designs as "a work in progress" that can be improved through the input of others.
Membership yes. I Second that motion!
Surprisingly enough I will be in Austin over that very same time. Would be interested in meeting you and discussing the future of printing.
Membership Yes
Love you and what you all are doing, just placed an order for filament and cant wait to get setup on your etsy app!
Hope you enjoy it!
U could do one with shelves with printers on them the has the words print it don't store it
Now you need to make a factory where shelves make the shirts, so merch will be available on demand, without storing costs.
I mean, with knitting it would be possible…
I totally get it. One of my products is on its seventh iteration with no end of further improvements planned. This has not changed anything but make the clients happier and something that shocked me is that they come back, just like Apple, for the next improvement.
Membership sounds like a good idea. I tried the subscription, but had to pause after a few months because I just couldn't use it fast enough (especially all being black).
A Tangled membership is a great idea.
Note that any membership incentives will lead purchase demand peaks near end of membership periods, and/or incentive periods. Similar to what Costco, etc. experience with coupons and membership offers. This can be a good thing as it can be used to manage demand and timing of demand over a longer term cycle. Slant 3d will need anticipate any peaks in the context of annual consumer holiday cycle as relates to internal resource allocation.
Suggest considering a couple of membership levels: one geared to longterm commitments, and another geared towards hobbyists, etc. that can be stopped and restarted after a period of time.
So basically Apple (or, apparen;tly, Multi-Touch?) just took the basic principle of the QUERTY keyboard and made it dynamic? The layout of a QWERTY keyboard is explicitly designed to separate not only the most common letters but the most common lettery *combinations* to both reduce the priblem of typewriter arms striking each other but also the user hitting the wrong key.
That's both very cool as an idea, and a good example of how a small iteration on a concept can make a big difference to the user experiences.
I tried the Etsy plugin and was happy to see how easy it was to setup. I was not prepared for the cost of my STL. Are you planning a video with tips on reducing those costs? I am willing to modify things, but don't know which direction to head in.
Membership yes! Would this apply to us up here in Canada?
How are the shirts printed? I love the design, but don't want one that'll come off in just a few wash cycles
What are the dimensions of the desiccant drying canisters? I need to make sure that they will fit in my Sunlu s4.
I would be interested in a membership if there is a discount code.
I could also be interest in the ongoing subscription if I could sign up for shipments of filament every 3 month for example. Or perhaps the subscription could be for 400g per month with the physical rolls only shipping once I have met the 1Kg threshold or something like this.
T-shirt could be way funnier. Like needing another toy boat
I like your videos man
When might you ship your filaments to Canada?
It’s user pref… Apple KB sux. Had an iPhone since 2020 and still cannot deal with it vs. Android. Cannot get cursor within a word to save my life.
Pretty sure the Microsoft SwitftKey keyboard does something similar. It's also adaptive and can show you a heatmap of where you've typed. It's probably the best general-purpose keyboard I've found for Android. Also allows swiping, which some people like.
I use SwiftKey and it's terrible at predictions now. Used to be better I recall but now its consrsntly making mistakes as I type this very sentence.
Do you all plan on doing anything for MMRF in June?
We don't do conferences generally
So... When are you guys going to tackle Nylon filaments? Because $100 a kg is freaking stupid. A "Prime" or "Costco" style membership is fine with me as long as the price is reasonable. Subscription definitely doesn't work for me because my monthly usage is too variable currently and subscriptions don't really work for commodity products anyways.
Please make a Word Press plugin . Etsy is good but we need sumthing for my site . Thank you
For WordPress I think what would make the most sense is an eCommerce integration that can display inventory, capture customer info, and collect payment. WooCommerce is the big player in that field. Let's just say that some of us are already working on that. :D
What about if someone has a membership to Flix, got my warrant sell on East store like eBay Facebook or Etsy?
Second order in! I don't print pla unless it's Tangled 💯
Awesome thank you!
You should learn about the original 1984 Macintosh mouse and Job's insistence on a single button. Not 3, 1! Had to be one.
