Major sock knitter here. Your sock will be perfect on a little persons foot, the leg ribbing has lots of stretch in it and will stay up on her leg. Knitting is my first passion, so portable and can be mindless comfort knitting. There’s knitting for thinking and knitting for drinking is my motto

Knitters call them podcasts because that was the original format! They started before video had a good platform. I used to listen to knitting podcasts in 2005 and onward! I love that the visuals are now part of it!

Here an idea for your nieces socks...knit a tube sock...they are super easy to knit...just start at the top and knit down until you get the length required, then start the toe decreases.and finish toe as usual...she can wear them like this..or, add an after thought heel once the tube is finished..I have switched to tube socks and I love how they fit...
You can leave your channel name because quilting, applique, paper piecing, knitting -- it's all stitching things together or stitching them up. I'm also a multi-crafter so I love the variety. Football and crafting (or baking) -- YES please. I just finished the Floral Motif Sampler. It's just so pretty!

My thoughts regarding the sock: do ribbing on the top half of the foot. Then it will fit even if it's a bit big, but can then stretch as her foot grows.
And when you figure out what to call the "all the crafts" videos, let me know. I want to start a floss tube/knitting podcast/share all the projects, but I do everything, so....
I've always wondered by knitters refer their CZcams vides as podcasts. Hmmm. It is standard in the US to give needle size along with the project description, but I have never really understood why. Everyone's gauge is different, so the needle size is really irrelevant. I really like the way you have divided your video into segments. This seems logical to me. I love the diversity your various crafts give to your channel. Have a great week!

It was a 45 min drive and I was like a kid in a candy store. OMGoodness; what a Fantastic store! I want to go back asap. So enjoy that trip. Hi, your toddler socks look pretty typical/normal for a stockinette foot But you can knit the top stitches of the foot (half of the stitches) in the the same 2x2 rib as the cuff. You'll get a snugger fit on the foot and no changes needed for the number of stitches. It's fun watching you get back into knitting!

Yes!!! Come to Salt Lake! We have a couple of cross stitch stores including Shepherds Bush which is 😍. But we also have SO. MANY. QUILT. STORES!!!! You could spend the whole weekend at all the quilt stores we have up and down the Wasatch Front and still not see them all. If you need a guide/chauffeur, I am happy to volunteer!❤

Yes you did go over the haul love it. I was at the Gatherings yesterday! You need to visit there! The Quilt shop is right next door! You would love it! I had a awesome day and got a ton done. Love 123 Stitch. I have to learn to stitch in smaller counts.

I love watching your channel because I, like you, do so many different types of craft. I enjoy seeing what you're working on. I would love to see a "knitting video" I am mostly about knitting and EPP at the moment. My cross stitch has taken a back seat for the time being! I am also looking forward to seeing your quilt video, a machine pieced quilt is something that I would love to have a go at sometime soon so I would also be very interested in a pdf if you were to produce one.

Good idea to call and check on the times the shop is open. We just passed through Ogden, Utah and I was so excited to stop at Shepards Bush. I don’t live anywhere close to a shop to I knew I would be overwhelmed. My plan was to spend an hour Friday just looking around and then do my actual purchases Saturday. I arrived at the store at 3:30 only to find a notice that they were closing early that night and would be closed Saturday 🤦🏻♀️. I did manage to choose one pattern but was so disappointed.

Liz your yarn colors are the absolute cutest colors, that variegated yarn for Halloween socks was superb! Before I know it I will be getting out my needles as you have sparked my interest. My first sock has never been finished yet🤣 but I still love knitting scarves! The baby quilt is going to be very special! Thank you for filming your project from start to finish. I know the new quilters will enjoy all you show them on your video. Quilting has been in my life since the 1970’s and I’ve enjoyed gift giving of many of my completed quilts. As a multi-hyphenate crafter myself, I love your channel! BTW - I have also been perplexed about the reference to the 'knitting podcast; it's so funny how different communities identify themselves on CZcams. For me, podcasts are the things that entertain me while I'm walking my dog. 🙂That said, I appreciate all the splendid cross-stitch, knitting, and quilting channels out there!

I also like all the things. However, I have never learned to knit and seeing your socks is making me think I need to change that. The Silver Needle is an awesome shop. They have been in business for over 40 years so be prepared for lots of eye candy.

As a veteran sock knitter, I just want to tell you your little sock will be fine!! Kids grow so fast that by the time you frog that back, do the math and reknit it, she'll have outgrown it! 😂 If it is a wee bit big, she can wear them as slippers until they fit just right. Your knitting is just lovely, and the yarns you choose are just scrumptious!

Your excitement and enthusiasm makes me want do it all too! I love my cross stitch and need to get back to my quilting! I love my Piecemakers needles. What a difference they made for me. Oh I wish I could join you at The Silver Needle! It's my LNS and it's great! You may need to plan another trip soon to spend more time. We also have a yarn store. I don't know how it compares to others though, it's the only one I've been to. I hope you have a fabulous trip!

I have heard that the reason knitting videos are called podcasts is historical. Before you tube was a thing there actually were knitting podcasts that were audio only and people talked about their knitting and yarns, etc. it’s a holdover from that era. Or so I have been told.
Such beautiful needlework items!! I love them all. I used to be in the Be Stitch Me fabric club and I love her linens. They are wonderful to stitch on and her colors are all so pretty. Have lots of fun making it all!!

I love seeing all of your projects! I wonder if you would feel better about your niece’s sock if you continued the ribbing across the top of the foot as well? That’s my favorite way to knit myself socks actually.. I do 1x1 ribbing for the cuff, then usually a 3x1 rib down the leg, a heel flap and gusset, then continue the 3x1 rib across the top of the foot and plain stockinette on the bottom of the foot. It really helps with the fit because I don’t like when socks get all floppy 😂

I am with you, I don’t understand why most people use the term podcast for their knitting videos. I am not okay with that lol.
Also, I consider knitting “stitching”. When you think about it, you have a knit STITCH, a purl STITCH, a cross STITCH, etc etc. it’s all technically STITCHING. 😅

I’m a Saturday football stitching fan. Believe it or not I’m from Texas and my money and son go to Alabama. The entire time Bama plays a Texas team…I feel like my mother in law just drove off a cliff in my new car! I also stitch, embroider, knit, crochet, professional painter,EPP, sew , quilt, read, furniture artist and stained glass! Jack of all trades….but man…I have had some fun.

16 inch circulars for hats is the sweet spot 🧶. I loved everything about this episode because I too like to dabble in all the crafts!

Re toddler sock, when you pick up stitches for the gusset, continue your rib pattern from the leg on the instep stitches only, keeping those stitches in ribbing until the toe. That way the sock will stretch to fit her foot. 😊
