    When I worked in Kindergarten I had two colleagues. One was this mid 40's very jolly cuddly bigger woman with large breasts. The other one quite lean, skinny and, well, not really cuddly at all. We had this one student who was a little clingey and needed to sit on your lap for a while after lunch because that's usually when he got overwhelmed. That's fine, we can do that.
    One time my jolly coworker was off sick so the small lady took him to cuddle.
    This boy, hardly 3, dead-ass asked this woman "so, tell me, xyz: do you have breasts too?"
    She said yes.

    I agree with Bri and Rebecca’s husband on the last bit of the podcast. I graduated from high school in 2019 and I had some classes where the kids were definitely living to antagonize the teachers. There were multiple times I saw the sweetest teachers either lose their shit completely or be on the verge of tears because of the harassment of those three or four kids that were always disrespectful and disobedient. I was really close with one of those teachers and there were so many times she would cry during her planning period while I was in there with her saying how she didn’t want to do this anymore.

      Last year, when I was in math class, there were 2-3 students that would not SHUT UP. And they were so rude and so disrespectful. For example, the teacher (who always had a smile on his face and was super quiet and is pretty short. A lot of students were taller than him) had taken away one of the kid's phone, and he walked up to the teacher, grabbed a granola bar off of the teacher's desk and asked the teacher, "How do you like it now?". There was only one time that the teacher completely lost it with our class. The class would never be quiet, and so he lost his cool. He said, like, "Be quiet. You Have to know this!" and they still wouldn't shut up. It was rediculous

Legit was getting very angry and went as far as calling our teacher a racist because he kept arguing with the student. It was awful. He ended up talking to her at the end of class so I don't know what/how it got resolved but for months people talked about it

      I’m my high school social studies class when we did WWI, we had a quiz that everyone bombed so badly on our teacher was absolutely disgusted some of the highlight answers were:
      Who was assassinated starting WWI? Hitler.
      What reparations were a part of the Treaty of Versaillais? Cupcakes.
      When she started this I was very concerned because I was sure I had written correct or at least good answers on my quiz and she hilariously looked over saw my panicked expression and said “except for you Ana, you did fine.” Which at the time didn’t make me much less panicked but now I find absolutely hilarious.

      Celebrity culture has done such a thorough job convincing people that it's uncool to know anything that kids think it's cute to be ignorant. I can assure you that the rest of the world, undeveloped as well as developed, do not have anything approaching this attitude. We look the fools in front of the rest of the world, and rightfully so. And for all the cool dudes and dudettes who exclaim, "Who cares what the rest of the world thinks!", the U.S.'s economic power is about to collapse. Our society is about to collapse. We have to import foreign students for advanced science studies bc we can't find enough Americans up to the task. Every last aspect of life has been commodified in the U.S. People are dying bc they can't afford their insulin, and America seems a-okay with that.
      So interesting watching the end of empire, the collapse of empire. And all that those who are aware can do is try to stay out of the way.

      I taught 8th grade during covid and in one day was a teacher for about 125 students.
      About half of my students did zero work the entire school year.
      For context, the students attended school every other day. Alternate days were virtual. I was in school every day.
      Absenteeism was out of control.
      They rarely showed up on their virtual days despite the school providing them with laptops AND WIFI CONNECTIONS for them at home.
      Despite failing, the students were permitted to go to high school because of a policy called "social promotion".
      It was so sad. I tried over and over and over to contact parents by phone, email, text, letters home, and I rarely was successful.

    I wonder if the teacher you all were talking about (at the end) makes me wonder if possibly the teacher already asked the student to leave the room several times previously. I know my son would get teachers worked up and then play the good communicator when the teacher was beyond dealing with him. I fully supported the teachers because I know how my son can push people to the edge of just blowing up and then act all innocent. I always tried to back the good teachers he had and be supportive of them. Thankfully he has graduated and he is now realizing all the issues he caused can be done to him by others! He might be 20 but I still feel like he is a 14 year old trying to figure out this big bad world and I help guide him but it is on him to make the decisions and deal with the outcomes.

    I saw the same video as ms Rodgers, and as a student I was on the teacher's side! The tone of the student’s voice made me feel as though she had been messing around with the teacher for a while and was just trying to get a rise out of her. She had one of those smiles that looked like she knew she was being disrespectful. Interesting how differently we read those vibes!

I am a new assistant teacher at an elementary school and would love to watch a video from y'all on your schooling (college) and how you figured out which grade you wanted to teach! I want to go to school for teaching, but not really sure which grade or subject and all of that. I would also have to do online school. Please keep the videos coming! 💗💗

    In regards to the teacher who was silent, I saw it completely differently. We never saw the beginning of the interaction. It’s very possible that the teacher had already given the student instruction/direction and the student ignored it. I saw a child ‘performing’ for the camera, speaking disrespectfully to a teacher, and barely hiding the smirk. Interesting how points of view can differ when people see the same thing.

    • @KDu400
      @KDu400 Před rokem +3

      Yes! Thank you! We have no idea how many times this teacher spoke to the child and directions were not followed. To me, that was a disrespectful child performing for her instagram and TikTok

      I completely agree. I graduated from high school in 2020 and I had some classes where the kids were definitely living to antagonize the teachers. There were multiple times I saw the sweetest teachers either lose their shit completely or be on the verge of tears because of the harassment or those three or four kids that were always disrespectful and disobedient. I was really close with one of those teachers and there were so many times she would cry during her planning period while I was in there with her talking about how she didn’t want to do this anymore.

    So I have a "fun" bus story. My bus driver turned the bus around and just kicked off 4 kids because someone was cursing and he didn't like that so he picked 4 random boys and kicked them off and said if they want to get back on and go home, they had tell him who on the bus was cursing and when they said They didn't know who it was he said ok then, bye. And left. Those poor kids. Ik they didn't do anything and tbh I didn't even hear any cursing.. but the driver has stomped at a girl and cursed at us and called a boy stupid or an idiot (one of those 2) so I was scared to say something. But the only reason he is sending the kids back is because the super intended is on the bus so he is acting like he is a good bus driver. Don't get me wrong, I have mad respect for bus drivers bur mine speed and almost hit 2 people this year with the bus and curses at us. I wish I was making this up, but should I report him? Sry this is so long.
    Edit: I found out that one of the kids kicked off was the one cursing but honestly I don't think it was right for him to kick off kids for something that they didn't do

    The teacher who was on the video mentioned- you have to think what happened BEFORE recording started. Now - kid knows she's being recorded. Of course she is on her best behavior.
    I have kids of my own. One is 21. A few years ago she would try to "set off" adults and then would start recording. Suddenly 😇 she's the voice of reason. And her stories about adults... "I was minding my own business when suddenly... for no reason... the neighbor started yelling at me. "Really- you were just strolling down the street and got screamed at for no reason? No reason at all?" Now she's more mature.
    So the student was being an angel and suddenly for no reason the teacher starts pointing to the door and glaring?

    Online classes were insane. The first week of sophomore year we were on zoom and kids were hacking into the accounts under our name and typing slurs into the chat. I was one of the people they did it to and almost got in HUGE trouble with my English teacher. She didn't know me yet and was extremely upset with me and I spent an hour bawling my eyes out because she genuinely thought I was saying such vulgar things in chat and she contacted my principal. Probably the worst experience of my life. I was the reason our whole district switched to Google meet and I am so glad lol. (Especially glad we went back to all day, in person though. Virtual school was stressful)

    I have Braces so the thing with the rubber bands. It depends on how a child has them on. I have mine going from my K9 tooth to the last tooth in the right side of my mouth and the same with the left side. Some people have them all over their mouth so you have to take them out to eat. It is physically impossible to eat with them on. Plus the orthodontist should tell the child how to use them and put them in and out.

    • @_the_
      @_the_ Před 2 lety +1

      When I had braces and tried to eat with them on they literally always tore, also my orthodontist told me to take them off before eating, exactly for that reason.
