Your results were awesome.I want to stain a bunch of flowers on a grey plastic storage bin using a stencil, thanks for the color chart...but I am going to try to do a test run of purple using pure liquid rit and some nail polish remover. I am going to use a stencil brush slowly over and over (prevent drip) and see if it works, If interested, I will comment reply my results.

I have a 48" PVC pole that I want to dye. It's too large to be placed on my stove. Do you have any experience with just adding in hot water to a bucket, rather than leaving it on the stove? The only other option I can think of is perhaps cold water dying but I don't know if the heat of the water helps the dye soak into the plastic.

Hi, I dyed my mini e revo chassis. I used 350gr of black dye and i boiled it around an hour. After 10 minutes it turned out red and no matter how long it stayed in it stayed red. I kinda like it this way but I was wondering what I dit wrong? Maybe I didn't use enough dye? Could anyone tell me this?
I've successfully done it before but there's a few problems. First of all water will get inside of the tire. If you drill 2 very small holes in the tires you can spin the water out. Second, the hot water can cause the tire glue to come undone so you might have to reglue the tire the rim.
Mine warped also. Tried black on white grasshopper wheels and it didn't even take. They were new wheels and I cleaned them first and rinsed them before putting them in.

Maybe the reason why you can't predict the color changes because you're using the wrong product. Use the sythetic version of RIT, it's called DyeMore

You can wash them immediately and put them on your RC right away. You don't have to wait for the dye to settle.

Some of Rit Dye colours have a new formula, black is one of them. Plastic won't turn out as great as it used to be.

when i use rit dyes if you add alot of salt to the water and dye the color will take faster and be a brighter color

I just dyed my shock springs yesterday and they turned out grey. Once before, I've had springs turn out blackish-purple.
