  • Today we’re going to be dyeing some xmaxx parts. This process can be used to dye most any porous plastic such as a arms chassis suspension towers etc.
    You will only be able to make parts darker not lighter and if doing any color other than black just be aware that the amount of time you leave the parts in will change your color saturation level and thus change your color outcome if doing black it doesn’t really matter how long as you can only get so dark.
    Items needed
    Rit dye {Liquid is preferable to powder}
    Pots to boil water in.
    Large heavy duty bucket or saucepot depending on size of parts.
    This can have the added benefit of causing your parts to be more flexible afterwards meaning less breakage. If doing parts black you may leave it in water until it cools as you do not have to worry about oversaturation of color

    For any black parts try using back to black for car trim. Get it at most parts stores. That stuff makes it black and shinny again and kinda a protectant dirt and dust wash off really easy. I did my wing mud guards rims arms everything. Shiny as hell looks better then new

      No problem glad it helped yeah lotta people don’t even know that really exist I’ve been using that stuff for years on small hardware. Total sideline there is a thread locker by permatex it’s the orange one it’s suppose has the holding power of red but can break like blue so it’s a good hybrid been using it on pinion gears so I’ll see how it works out but it looks promising

      Yeah if you can get something really light like a white or gray you can make it almost any color you want

  • @squonkmodchannelvapeth5643

    Can it be used in powder ?
