In this episode, notice how every time Luther sees Alice, he goes to see his wife immediately after because of what she tells him. Luther has a whole team of detectives working on her, but Alice only has herself. Just another example of her brilliance and the writers'

But more to the point both Londoners and New Yorkers look out for their own--if someone is being assaulted in broad daylight the likelihood that someone will intervene is far higher in London than it would be in most less densely populated places

Haha anyone who knows London knows that that is quite some distance from Barbican (where she lives) to BlackFriars Bridge. That she follows him for all that time with a knife in her hand is unrealistic.
I am not from London, so I had to google this ('cause I have no life at this weird moment). It says 16 min walk. She looks pretty psyched, so she made giant strides. They both could have covered the distance in 10. Why would the knife have to be in a plain view for the whole trip?

Trying to understand the general plot surrounding this show. I didn't know Idris has a regular show. I thought he was 100% silver screen. 😁 Can somebody help explain?
He's big in the UK and I heard he likes going back. Plus, the bbc shows are like movies too because each season(series) only has around 4-8 episodes for 1hr-1hr30 mins depending on the series.
It’s just like any other crime show kinda. Basically it’s centered around DCI Luther and his life and his job. His connections and how he works. I know it’s been a year but if you haven’t watched it you should !

Hi what I believe it meant was that Alice asks why love if all it makes us is corrupt, well, Luther answers the question by throwing the remnants of the gun on the ground to show the futility of not showing love.
I think that after she questions the sense of love, he realizes that she is right. That's why he takes out of pocket the remnants of the gun that we all believed were thrown in the Thames with the urn. Luther throws it to her because he knows she needs them and he will not use it against her.
He shows her love and saves her momento for what she thinks is love to save his love for his wife
