I Have the northac p11 and it's the worst Dot I own. The refresh rate is terrible and the brightness adjustment is atrocious.

I have one as well, the brightness works fine and the refresh rate is good, but the auto on feature needs to say auto slap on feature as it needs to be slapped in order to turn on. The battery cover has to be insanely tight too in order for the dot to work. I much prefer my Atibal or any of my Primary Arms optics over the Northtac.

I mean, with the shake to wake not working, it had issues to begin with. But I was surprised that it passed the drop test. Yea, weird looking paperweights! Lmao! Thanks for watching!
In balance, I've got two of these and both have been good on 9mm's so far after about 2500 combined rounds. Shake awake and auto sleep works perfectly every time, and there are no weird refresh rate issues. They're on range guns and havent been drop tested or smacked on anything, so while I 'can' say they've held zero under recoil, I cant say if they still would if they took some abuse. As you mentioned, they're relatively large so I dont (and probably wouldnt) use them on self-defense guns.

As soon as you noticed the optic's shift just by looking at it...I knew it was toast. We get that wind up in Northern AZ too. Your mic-work is a lot better than mine though.

I woukd agree that Northtac needs to implement that level of attention to detail and quality that they do for the packaging into the dot itself, all their dots I would say lol. Thanks for the honest review Matt, we need more people to be aware of the shotty high marketed gun products out there that are simply a waste of money and with today's Bidenomics, that's very important to a lot of people!

Holosun, Gideon, Riton... The Gideon Rock is my favorite new red dot. I have a video on it. Those are all that have passed the test over and over again without fail. Of course Trijicon RMR as well. I'm currently testing the Viridian RFX 45 and have been happy with it. But there hasn't been a full drop test yet. Thanks! And thanks for watching.

I don't think this is a bad review. It does show the limits of cheap optics. Cheap metal that won't hold zero under abuse. Their website only showed auto-off but no shake awake feature. If they drop the price to about $100 then you could say it's competitive for that price. Then again you can often find a Holosun 407a for about $179 when PSA runs one of their sales.
This is one of a sloo of issues with these cheap Chinese optic companies that don't care about anything. The websites are either misleading or mismatching of what the optic is. For instance..yes, the site says auto off. The literature that came with the optic says...
"Shake Activation
1. For shake awake feature to engage, the unit must be left idle for 15 minutes to auto-shut off."
And half of the websites call it a 1x27, when Northtac calls it a 1x28. I have no idea who is right. But this POS isn't even worth $100.
That damn p11 has directions of use written by an engineer... not end user friendly

Riton has worked out well for me.
These are junk! I had a Ronin P12 optic, and that was junk!!! The battery only lasted about 2 days,if you are lucky. The dot, well it started flair and then had it had extra dot. Customer service is, how can I put this, If you had nothing, you had more than their customer service. I can go on and on about this over priced paper weight.
💯
