I think that this had to be Alabama's most disappointing season in my lifetime. 2010 might have been right there too. But Alabama had run off to a 7-0 start with all kinds of NFL talent - Cornelius Bennett, Bobby Humphrey, Derrick Thomas, among several. Then you get the best teams on your schedule at home - Penn State, LSU, and Auburn - and losing all three games with turnovers and penalties.
At the beginning of the 3rd quarter, they’d open the gates at Legion Field and me and my buddies would sneak in and watch the games. This is one of the games I snuck into and after the game, I met Joe Paterno. Even tho I was 14 year old kid, I knew he was a legend. I was waiting outside the locker room hoping to get some tape or wristbands and he just happen to come out. I extend my hand and he gave me a handshake. All these years later, the memory is still vivid.
@@TempeSoldier123 That is a great story! I always looked forward to the Penn State game when I was growing up. The only game I ever saw in Tuscaloosa besides A-Day was the 1990 Penn State game. Just lots of great memories there!
I remember watching this from the TV lounge in Snyder Hall. ❤
YES! Been waiting for this full game to hit CZcams for a loooonnnng time. Thank you.
44:30 - Dozier scores! 1:06:13 - Blair Thomas scores!

An even moderately competent coach takes that Bama team to a conference championship at the very least.
@@rypo59I agree…Penn State had an amazing team so I get this loss. But they gave away LSU and Auburn, both at Legion Field.
