A Day is always hard to really determine where your team is at. You have 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2, so 2nd string players can look better than 1st stringers. You don't have your full unit out there, whether that's because of injury or because some players haven't arrived on campus yet. You're not working with the full playbook you're only running the same 10 to 15 plays over and over again. Also no one is truly going 100%.
Listen to the way that they analyze Kalen Deboer's coaching ability..; I dont always agree with G-Mac but he's spot on here.... Kalen Deboar is a coaching savant.... He's a master of X's & O's..... He's having fun and analyzing what he's got in a glorified practice...... AND the man has been given a roster full of 4 and 5 star studs..... From what I saw yesterday mixed behind the scenes rumors defensively they will be JUST FINE.. 🙂..... This team will surprise a LOT of people....
Yea even though the defense might need a bit to catch up to shape up I think we gonna explode on everybody on offense this year gonna be too much to handle possibly another goat offense if the oline gells

ummm maybe not judge a coach based on his first year at all? It rarely turns out well. Let's say the team wins a Natty next year, that's great! but it could also be fool's gold and we could have mediocre seasons every year after. Or he could have a rough 1st year, and then really turn everything around after adapting to SEC recruiting and play and making adjustments towards his offense based on his new opposition.
Defense will be fine. Game calling was intentionally vanilla for most of the game. No Simpson is no. 2 a best. I wouldn’t be shocked if he transferred.

I expected to see both defenses look better than what I see. Granted, Milroe is a potential Heisman candidate but the defenses looked like a sieve on both sides. Not going to be a championship team if the defense isn’t any better than this.
Definitely gotta tighten the rigging in the middle of the ship. The middle of the d line got mowed down on runs between the tackles and the linebackers were hit and miss. They made a couple good stop plays but they didn’t get a lot of stops on 3rd down to prevent 1st down conversions until it looked like the offense had just let up on em.
it's not like they were throwing to wide open guys all day, the offense was just a bit better. in post interviews they said the defense wasn't allowed to pressure like they normally would. Wommack is an aggressive playcaller and you could tell they were being conservative mostly.
I've made several comments so far since Kalen DeBoer was hired. And mostly I've mentioned Milroe and what I think he will be in DeBoer's system. Which isn't a huge difference with what Saban's offensive play book. I have said that I believe Milroe is going to be the best player in the country in 2024. I have no doubt that he will be. He was 5th in the Heisman voting last season. And he had a rough start to the season. But I still see alot of people not giving this kid the respect he should be receiving. I bet if he won the Heisman and a national title, people would still say he isn't that good. It's just irritating to me. What you think Izallgood? Hope all is well!
Yeah I love his competitive nature. I believe he will once again prove the naysayers wrong. I believe he will have a great season and it's highly likely he will win the hesiman as well. I want to see how the season plays out but I think Bama can win it all with Jalen at QB.

Defense didn't really look good at all to me. they looked average. Reminded of Big 12 defenses who occasionally will get some type of turnover, or a late stop they lets the offense have an extra drive to pull ahead by a score. Then again, that's been about how Alabama's defense has been the past 5 or so years. Offense look a little better at times, but I wouldn't say they were good either. just slightly better than our Defense.

I’m gonna say start milroe at the beginning of the year but let be a competition and have the winner start week 3 against uga. Milroe hasn’t looked terrible so far but if he starts slow like last season he needs to be pulled.

Still not understanding why you all still don’t think milroe should start made some great plays with his arm today. He looks way more poised than last year which if that comes out in his play he’s literally gonna Win the heisman and could potentially win us a championship in Deboers first year. In my opinion I think between his passing and running abilities combined with the two dynamic running backs toting the rock this could sincerely be a hell of a year. Another thing if the defense shows to be mighty starting out it’s gonna be insane I will say one thing I’m very happy with the snaps getting fixed that looks a million times better so that’s not an excuse anymore
he's not consistent -- except at fumbling, still doesn't read the entire progression and there are better QB's playing I seriously doubt he'll "win" the Heisman. DeBoer will be gone in 2 years if were lucky.

I think Ty looks lackluster and robotic…like someone going thru the motions because it’s all he knows…He has zero leadership qualities…He still looks like a HS quarterback….He always will. Milroe…with Lonergan as qb2.

@@ethanchancey5892 he hasn't looked good either. I saw 2 passes that should have been caught. He took 3-4 sacks today. A few negative plays. Ty only had one negative play on the sack he took. Ty looked far better. Just my opinion tho.

I agree. I feel like people get so angry when they hear this opinion. But if you watch the entire game he’s just more consistent. Obviously hard to tell much in a spring game. I’m just worried he’s going to transfer next week. He’s too good to be a back up IMO.

Still not understanding why you all still don’t think milroe should start made some great plays with his arm today. He looks way more poised than last year which if that comes out in his play he’s literally gonna Win the heisman and could potentially win us a championship in Deboers first year. In my opinion I think between his passing and running abilities combined with the two dynamic running backs toting the rock this could sincerely be a hell of a year. Another thing if the defense shows to be mighty starting out it’s gonna be insane I will say one thing I’m very happy with the snaps getting fixed that looks a million times better so that’s not an excuse anymore

he's not consistent -- except at fumbling, still doesn't read the entire progression and there are better QB's playing I seriously doubt he'll "win" the Heisman. DeBoer will be gone in 2 years if were lucky.

On Milroes behalf we wouldn’t have gotten where we did without him last year. If you gonna talk about fumbles talk about the abundance of bad snaps he had to recover or track down and try to make a play on. It’ll be okay though I’m ready to watch this season and see all the good that can come out of it 14 team playoff bama is definitely gonna be one of those teams
