depends on the machine, but typically they dont hurt, as over stressing your axles will really limit there life, limit straps set properly fix this

Ok but you WILL increase your chances of a rollover even in slow conditions as now the body is free to lean/roll on steep edges where the sway bar would have helped to keep the unit more flat.
