Missed a chance to say “the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell”
What I learned with many years of aesthetic treatments is that more powerful or stronger is not always better.
Lol that applies to everything, literally everything.
So true. My red LED light mask has given me incredible results from the get go. I saw results literally after the first treatment. 'Just' LED, but wonderful results!

I use irestore pro and my white hairs are still going strong.
Yeah, anecdotally it has helped with my acne. I see no downsides (aside from perhaps buying a fake product with the wrong wavelength).
It could be stimulating your melatocytes!

I love that you are unafraid to put the necessary details concerning these kinds of topics in your videos. It is much needed to see the research and sources when looking into these kinds of treatments. It's how you can tell that you are not just out there selling an image or just playing into hype. You are really showing people what they need to know and I am grateful for that.

There were so many videos about red light therapy on CZcams, including some by physicians like yourself. But this is the best explanation of the differences in wavelength. Thank you!
I love how your videos pop up on my feed whenever I'm trying to expand my knowledge or I need to talk to or teach a client even share information with colleagues. In my research on hair growth I started looking into micro-needling a few years ago. Moving from using it on the face and hands to the scalp. You and I even had a brief exchange on that subject.I've been following you ever since. Now this video! I just did a commercial shoot for hand held treatment devices. When the producer sent me the prodduct images and asked if I had ever heard of it, I sent him back a picture of my own device that i've been using for the past two years. Thank ubfor all your great information
Dr. Linkov, I have had many IPL treatments over the the last 28 years, as I had a very advanced case of Rosacea. I had always had Rosacea, but entering my 4th decade it worsened dramatically. My dermatologist began IPL treatments and the Rosacea cleared. Later treatments also cleared the broken capillaries etc. My skin has dramatically improved as I have continued to have 3 or 4 Broadband treatments a year throughout the years.I have reaped many benefits from this technology!
My very oily skin has calmed and, although it remains oily it's not as bad. Overall my skin looks great.......I believe in this technology!!!!
Same. My skin began looking “off” and I couldn’t pin point exactly what it was, but using a 10x magnified mirror, I saw that I had a bunch of thread veins, and without the magnifying mirror, I realized I had dilated capillaries (which many people inaccurately describe as “broken” capillaries) around my eyes, which was giving the illusion of dark circles. IPL completely got rid of the small dilated capillaries in one session, and the larger ones were gone after 3. They haven’t came back since. Unfortunately, we were able to pinpoint that tretinoin was the cause of my the small thread veins. My skin handled the tretinoin well, but any little scrape or touch pressure in one area would immediately result in thread veins. So I had to stop so that they wouldn’t come back after tretinoin. Inadvertently, the nasolabial folds I was beginning to notice over the last few years were dramatically reduced 4 weeks after a single ipl session. I did a second IPL session about 6 weeks later, and now my nasolabial folds are completely gone. I didn’t think or know that could even happen. Now my skin looks as it did when I was 23! I am a big believer in IPL. I will never do fillers because I think it looks highly unnatural, and there’s too much room for error with filler. Plus, we now know that filler doesn’t actually fade away within 6-24 months as previously believed; It migrates slowly and most people don’t really notice. So they keep filling, then it continues to migrate, and you get buildup that can last a decade. Scary
Thank you for sharing!
I have rosacea too, would love to hear more about your skincare routine in conjunction with treatments! 😊
IPL is not the same as red light therapy.

Coincidentally, I started using an at-home red-light therapy treatment shortly after I had a thyroidectomy. My scar looks incredible. It's completely flat and unnoticeable from a distance.

I have been using Celluma pro device since 2019 almost daily. My skin looks incredible, people think I wear foundation, but I don’t. That’s how amazing red light therapy is. Learned this from my mother in law who had parkinson and was using a Red light device for her tremors. Her skin transformation was unbelievable. This was in 2007. She got this machine from South Korea at that time. Red light therapy definitely works if we use it consistently.
What would happen if she stopped using it?
This is fascinating! I have muscle fatigue, brain fog and have a mild essential tremor, but it can be very cumbersome when I need to be sharp at work. Did your mother-in-law actually see improvements on her parkinson's symptoms? I've been tested and ruled out of Lupus, MS and Parkinson's, but definitely have a host of auto-immune symptoms that I want to treat.
How often do you use it and how long for? x

Thank you so much for this MORE THAN HELPFUL detailed information! I learned a lot!
It's so cool and crazy how people figured stuff out like that.
It's been used on Chinese acupuncture practice over 40 years. I had my first red light treatment back in 1990 on my right leg and my back when I injured myself at school. I didn't believe it at first, but it reduced inflammation right away. I mean within 40 minutes under the lights.
What a wonderful and thorough explanation. I read a book on RLT to learn how to use a device decided to buy an at home device, and I saw such remarkable results after consistent use following the manufacturer's directions.I only wanted to improve the skin on my face and hands, and I am happy that I made the commitment to use my device consistently. I also committed to good sleep habits and sunscreen, every day, and a diet containing the necessary ingredients for healthy skin and collagen production. It is fun, now, to do things that I would not have spent the time on when I was younger. My younger self would be laughing. I just want to be an old grandma with a less scary face! I wonder if all of the hours that I spent outdoors , until I was in my 60's, I was receiving lots of red light from the sun!
Thank you doctor!! I was thinking about this. And you helped me made my mind!

Thanks for the information, it was well broken down and saved me a lot of time and headache, It's hard to pinpoint these days rather or not if something like red-light therapy actually works for people personally, due to the scattered information that contradicts each others research and it getting discouraging to try something new when trusting any given data.
Thanks Dr Linkov. I appreciate the research.

Question for Dr. Linkov: is red light therapy or a lasers effective for EYE BAGS or DARK CIRCLES?
While I was first interested in the anti-aging aspect, I primarily use my panel for inflammation and the improvement has been incredible. My shoulder, back, and foot pain is significantly better immediately after use. I also use it after workouts to speed recovery in addition to my theragun, perfect duo.
I have a Mito panel that does red and near infrared, highly recommend if one can afford the panels for more fullbody use.

I have Neurofibromatosis type 2 and have been using my LED face mask nearly everyday for about a year for melasma and anti-aging benefits. I haven’t really noticed a difference with my fibromas, though mine are not that bad.
I recently got and started using a MitoRed Adapt Mid panel. It uses four wavelengths that you can customize. I’m not sure about face but definitely noticing a short term improvement on my lower back. I have only been using for a little over a week but for the first time in many many years I can get a few hours of little to no pain. It has been worth the cost for that alone. I am excited to see how much it will help. It certainly is promising enough to keep me on schedule.

@@joyshuman2727 Hi. At this point I have been using the panel almost two months and see bigger improvements. I had an odd but significant back injury that dr’s say in most people would have, at least, blown up to three and maybe four discs. I have hyper mobility in my joints so my back was affected differently. It is the lower area at the bottom of my back. Imagine where your dimples on lower back are. My injury was straight across from one dimple to the other. I tore muscles, ligaments, etc under both of those areas. I have nerve endings, muscles, etc protruding through the tear which is really bad. There is no surgery to correct this. I also screwed up the area around the discs and now have arthritis in those discs along with the painful area on the sides. I generally always get the nerve block injections every three months to be able to function at all. Since using red light panel the last few months I was able to extend the time between injections to four months. I know it doesn’t sound like much but is HUGE to me. And this is after only using it a few months.
My rosacea has been greatly improved since using my red light panel. I don’t notice a ton of tightening in my skin, but that could be a result of not noticing such slow effects

Hi Doc, I reside in Toronto and recently a light therapy clinic has opened. I signed up because I was intrigued about the technology. So far, I have attended for Jan and Feb. Even after this short time, I have seen the pores on my nose get smaller, my neck has gotten firmer and I had a little finger nail fungus completely disappear. It is the most relaxing 20 minutes I can spend. I lay naked on a table (the door is locked obvs) and I spend 10 mins on my back and then 10 mins on my stomach. I have tried Botox, IPL, Potenza, fillers and TCA peels. I’d put red light and near Infared right at the top of my anti aging techniques. Tomorrow should be interesting because I am going to go again tomorrow morning and then do a Muay Thai class at 1 pm. I am excited to see if the red light gives me more energy. Even if it doesn’t the physical changes I have seen throughout my body thus far have convinced me. This is my two cents, thanks for reading and talking about this technology.

The near infrared system at the gym I go to when used regularly has helped me with a variety of issues. Skin conditions including eczema, ligament and tendon health and joint issues associated with arthritis all improved. It increases energy levels to some extent as well. The key is regular use. The one I use also incorporates vibration in addition to the light. It probably increases blood flow and decreases inflammation.
I'd say that a person in general terms needs to use it 3-4 times or more every 7-10 days. Less than that, the benefits are going to be minimal. That's my experience anyway. It's not a miracle by no means but can be significantly helpful. Maximize affects when used in combination with self care and other therapies and treatments. If a person doesn't take care of themselves in a variety of other ways from nutrition to exercise to rest and other factors, it's not going to compensate for it.

Did you mom look more than 10 years younger?
Would this red light therapy also increase any cancer cells? This is a serious question that needs to be addressed first.
He did mention something about it possibly helping prevent skin cancer
Thank you this has helped.
Does red light therapy work for rosacea? If so, which wave length/device type would you recommend?
Do you have any opinions on whether getting a panel for the whole body, can also treat your face and hair? Do you need to get a hair cap and a face mask, plus the whole body or can I cut costs by buying a full panel?
When I bought a red light device a few years ago, I used it on my right hand every other day for three months, my right hand looked younger for about 5 years.
what device did you buy please
what strength of devide did u buy, how far away was your hand from devide and for how many minutes per day did u do
Are there pics ? 🤔
Whenever I see comments like this that don't do a follow up with people asking Q I just assume it's a bot tbh.
That's a great experiment!
Thanks!
I redlight helps- not for exercise (can't confirm) but for wound healing, scars, and skin irritation and pores. Skin looks much better. I wish I could find my cord charger, my skin needs it!
Love this! I need you to tell me which body panel to buy lol. I already have a celluma face panel, which I love. I still don’t understand the difference between leds and the lasers in the hair growth devices.
before you buy check out the improvement with pulsed rlt panels
Can you do one about micro currents?
For muscle recovery and achey knees from 21 years of working out its a game changer. I've noticed a benefit with my face especially if i dermaroll and my face gets inflammed from rolling so I'll do redlight right after & the redness goes away fast after 15 mins of treatment. I've been doing it for a year and a half with a $40 LED panel from Amazon. There's very little incentive/profit to do more studies since anybody can make a redlight device and not be prescribed by a doctor.
In Australia dentists are developing an infrared device they can direct a a nerve to switch it off for treatment that looks promising, doing away with lidocaine injections
Great, once it's approved by TGA, I will make an appointment with my dentist.
When I lived in Brisbane in the early '90s my dentist had what he called a 'laser' which he directed on the tooth he was going to fill. It basically stunned the nerves I think! I could have deep fillings without feeling anything. No local was needed. Ever since then every dentist I mention it to seems to have no idea what I am referring to. It was great, I'm not sure why it was never continued.
@Tyler-iu7fu interesting, maybe he was trialling it. Trials take a long time (supposed to) & funding may have been slow. My mum had a red light therapy lamp from the 70's so you'd think what's available today is better quality & better understood.
@@Tyler-iu7fu , I'd love to see it reintroduced!
I'm 2 weeks post face lift. After asking my sugeon, i have the go head to try it. My ENT surgeon said he looked into it and didnt think the evidence was that strong, but that it wouldnt harm. Besides, placebo does have an evidence base.
