How to Outline Your History Textbook

- In this video, Mr. Cellini reviews how to outline a textbook, which is an important skill to master in college and in upper-level high school classes.
This video specifically refers to the World History textbook called, Traditions and Encounters, by Herbert Ziegler, Jerry H. Bentley, and Heather Streets, but the skills will likely translate to textbooks in other subject areas as well.
It is recommended that you stop and pause the video frequently, so that you have a change to really analyze the process of organizing and condensing information from paragraphs to bullet-points in an outline. For me the most difficult thing is trying to pick out the most important parts of a chapter. Even with the heading, subsections, etc. I instinctively want to add EVERYTHING into my outline.
You giving me the goal of only adding 2 bullet points (3 at most) is helping me to weed out the most crucial information.
