Global History Regents Review | January 2024 Multiple-Choice Section
In this video, I review the multiple choice section from the January 2024 Global History Regents. Watch as I read and explain the readings and visuals, as well as provide background information that corresponds to each question.
It is always a good idea to brainstorm information you may know about the topic being discussed in each document before reading. This will help you activate your prior knowledge. It is also recommended that you practice using the process of elimination when answering multiple-choice questions. You can exponentially improve your chances of success if you can eliminate a couple of answer choices.
Here are the various topics that appear on this section of the exam:
- Centralization of power in France under King Louis XIV
- Enlightenment ideas and philosophers
- Size and advantages associated with the Ottoman Empire
- Breakup of the Ottoman Empire
- Simón Bolívar and nationalism in South America
- Imperialism in China and the Opium War
- Protest movements during World War I
- The Scramble for Africa
- Decolonization in Africa
- African nationalism
- Vietnam War
- Fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War
- Reforms in China during the rule of Deng Xiaoping
- Tiananmen Square Massacre
- Globalization and the positives/negatives associated with free trade
- Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- Human rights violations in the former Yugoslavia

Hello I’m not sure if your gonna be seeing this but I have a question for regents! Is the essay graded separately with the multiple choice and short answer? Because I think I ddi pretty bad on my multiple choice… and the essay I did freedom speech as my ending issue topic
I have received my global grade for the test today, and i got a 100, this is all thanks to u, my teacher gave us 0 assistance with the essay and i used the methods u have been using in your essay videos and it helped me write my essay
Congratulations! Thank you for your kind words. You earned this!
I have never in all my life found someone who is knowledgable in history and not boring. It seems like you live and breathe this stuff. You are truly an amazing teacher. I am sure I'm not the first to say this.
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words!
Good morning, Mr. Cellini. I did the test. For the essay part, I didn't pull out a quote from the documents, but I summaire it insteaed and put (doc.5) at the end. Was that right to do?
For sure. It’s not necessary to use direct quotes.
That test was so easy 🙏🔥
We don’t get results until 2-3 weeks from now
Hopefully sooner than that 🤞
@@MrJCellini not possible, our school is built different, they release all regents grades on the same day for all regents exams, and we have to wait until July 5th
I gotcha. That’s a long wait.
I chose inequity for the essay, doc 1,3,5. The multiple choice tho, there were always 2 that were tricky.
what 2?
@@jynxzidailyclipz 2 multiple choice options
Thanks so much got an 89
Fantastic!
I have a question I was asked to pick 1 enduring issue that supported my 3/5 documents but I accidentally picked 3 for the 3 documents, are they going to take point off for that even though I gave good explanations, I explained many things that happened in the past and why it affected each thing! Are they still giving me credit for it
Yeh Im def passing due to you thank you Mr. Cellini😭🙏
Happy to help!!
just took the regents today, felt a lot better with your practice. you are a very well-spoken teacher. big thanks mr. cellini. 🙏
Thank you so much!
Quick question can you use more then three documents for the essay
Absolutely
Thank you man. You eased a lot of my stress before taking the exam and really helped me prepare for it. I wish you the best for your baby and hope you have a good summer!!!
Thank you so much!
Looking back the exam wasn’t bad, the documents kinda sucked for the essay, a lot of people picked human rights violation but I picked the impact of power and lack of response from government to correct the issue. Multiple choice was quite easy as well.
Yeah, the exam overall wasn't that bad, the mc and crqs weren't hard at all, but the documents for the essay were...weird. I put down nationalism as my enduring issue so...guess I'll hope for the best!
@@MN-eb1ks The docs were just bad, I saw the common theme of power abuse and non violence so combined them.
@@FNBRVolts Fr though. I'm just glad there are multiple possible answers for the essay, power abuse and nonviolence also sounds about right.
@@MN-eb1ks Im lowkey kinda confused how u pulled nationalism out of 3 of those documents, can u elaborate?
@@FNBRVolts Oh uh, sure. i used documents 2, 3 and 4. if i remember correctly, document 2 was ho chi minh wanting reforms to be brought to vietnam, which was a nationalistic movement leading to the vietnam war. document 3 was india saying they don't like the british, also a nationalistic movement. and document 4 was all about estonia maintaining its nationalism through singing throughout rough times. i just saw those three and thought "ah yes, nationalism".
For the question that said what leader supported Marx and Engels idea, WHO THE HELL IS FIDEL CASTRO, AUGUSTO, AND CHIANG???
I believe it was fidel Castro
@@muslimyemeni3630 i dont remember learning anything about him i chose chiang kai shek
@@Kevin-pr5bd I don’t know who chiang is to, but the answer was fidel Castro
Can liberty be an enduring issue?
Perhaps lack of liberty. An issue is usually something that is problematic.
@@MrJCellini i wrote an essay and the enduring issue was liberty and i wrote like how to documents were struggling to get their liberty... Can that give me some point or..
Yup you should be fine
@@MrJCellini u just made me feel comfortable thank you for ur help and support 😭💗💗
Is protest an enduring issue??? I finished my essay today, I wrote my essay about protest and people are making me doubt that it’s not an enduring issue
Absolutely!
Just took the test. your guide helped a lot for this years essay
Happy to help!
I want to thank Mr Cellini for his help, For his time that he spent for us. Thank you for your explanation, I had regents, and already finished it, I answered all questions, and essay also. Thank you mr Cellini, If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to write this test as well.
Thank you for your kind words! I hope you did great!
@@MrJCellini Do you know when the regents will grade?
Hey I really appreciate the work you put into the videos, they helped me improve my essay writing for the enduring issue essay.
So glad I could help!
@@MrJCellini I did the exam today, I feel good about it 👍🏽 thank you again for the essay format
THIS HELPED SO MUCH WITH TODAYS TEST! I did protest as the issue and used the suffrage, indian independence, and tiananmen square documents
Perfect!
i did too lol, they gone think something up with all these tests about protest
For todays regents in the CRQ that was about turning point, could I have chosen WW2? I chose that caused I remembered this video and the correlation of European colonialism and then their liberation, but the second document in todays regents was I think more about the nationalism Africans starting feeling (the example being the song) in order to eventually become independent, so I’m not sure if what I chose was correct?
Sounds good to me!
@@MrJCellini yayy ok thank you!!
that was so hard
Tough test for sure! Fingers crossed for you!
For the multiple choice of todays regents, there was one question that showed a document that showed Karl Marx’s ideas and it asked who most agreed with it but I couldn’t remember who the people in the answer choices were! After using process of elimination, I narrowed it down between 2 people and just randomly guessed from there. What was the answer to this question?
It should had been fidel castro as he was the only communist leader out of the other four choices. The article talked about karl marx which is about communist.
@@NoobieNub_ thank you! I recognized his name but completely forgot who he was or what he did. Unfortunately when I did eeny meeny miny moe between him and someone else it did not land on him so I got that question wrong😔
