The memory saver how does that work ? Is that just an ordinary OBDE device ?

The memory saver plugs into the OBD port and supplies a low amperage 12v to the system.

Shouldn't you connect negative terminal last?

At 3'01" the video does show the negative terminal being reconnected after the position terminal.
