- Video 1 of a 4 part series! My father took these shots on a March 1996 trip on the VIA's "Skeena", a then overnight train from Prince Rupert, British Columbia to Jasper, Alberta. Although much of the landscape hasn't changed, a lot of the road power on the Canadian National has. In these scenes you will find a GP9RM working the Prince Rupert Yard, SD40-2Ws, SD50Fs and a C40-8M sitting at the super port facility near Prince Rupert. You will also see a meet with two SD50fs leading a coal train to Prince Rupert! A majority of this power is now gone off the roster, including the SD50Fs, which all retired by the end of October 2008.
