Mary's advice is to have any facial treatments at least three days before the big day and to test the makeup you plan to use on your face first to avoid any nasty surprises.
Mary started by applying a thick moisturiser (Hydra Beauty Nutrition Nourishing Cream, £55, bit.ly/1wNZxnq) to the face and chest to give the skin a dewy glow. She then chose a foundation that matched the skin tone on the neck and applied it to the face using her fingers for better blending (Perfection Lumiére Velvet SPF 15 in No.30, £33, bit.ly/1pQuB14).
She then used Estompe Éclat Corrective Concealer Stick in No.10 (no longer available but try this as a great alternative; Correcteur Perfection Long-Lasting Concealer in No.10 Beige Clair, £27, bit.ly/1tKa4fD) under the eyes to give the area a lift, tapping it down against the cheek to blend any lines between the eye area and cheekbones.
Using a slightly darker concealer (Estompe Éclat Corrective Concealer Stick in No.20 - no longer available however try this as a great alternative: Correcteur Perfection Long-Lasting Concealer in No.20 Beige Ivoire, £27, bit.ly/1tKa4fD), Mary covered any spots and blemishes on the face using her fingers to apply the product.
Next, she applied Illusion D'Ombre in Utopia, £25, (limited edition, no longer available) to the eyelids and using Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Marron Glace, £19 (bit.ly/1vUubqX), drew an eye line through the roots and lashes.
In order to set the makeup, Mary used Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Tisse Rivoli, £40, bit.ly/1tSUUE3, on the eyes to define the socket, adding a darker brown around the edges to make the look more intense. Using a smaller brush for more control and contour, she brushed a lighter brown under the eyes and curled the lashes for a doe-eyed look.
Next Mary applied Le Volume De Chanel Mascara in No.10, £25 (bit.ly/1lkXbr7), and a soft pink blush (Le Blush Creme De Chanel in No.64 Inspiration, £28, bit.ly/1u52JFX) directly to the cheekbone before blending lightly.
To contour the face, she added Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder SPF 15 in No.50, £39 (bit.ly/1n3AuDs), brushing down from the inside corner of the ear until level with the eye and then blending up. To add more shape she blended the bronzer up onto the forehead and shaded it.
Using Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-colour SPF 15 in No.1, £39 (bit.ly/1tSPybW), she lifted the cheeks, then applied Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder SPF 15 in No.10, £39 (bit.ly/1n3AuDs), with a large brush to the forehead, nose and chin to prevent shine.
Finally, Mary applied Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in No.61 (due to be discontinued soon but try this as a great alternative; Rouge Coco Shine in No.92, £25, bit.ly/1pcBTHl).

Absolutely stunning of course!
My fave thing about Mary is that she doesn't claim you need 827 brushes for every purpose, says you don't necessarily need to curl lashes.... very refreshing!
Mary Greenwell has magical hands and fingers. She could probably produce 24 kt gold out of thin air. I never fail to be amazed at her ability to produce a perfect look using no more than a couple brushes for powder products.
This is the most beautiful bridal makeup I've ever seen! So natural but still fits perfectly for a wedding. I just love how her face isn't absolutely covered up with products. Heck, she is the only one I've seen that still looks like the same person before and after, only a bit more enhanced after of course. If I ever marry my wonderful boyfriend then I'm definitely set on the makeup. Thanks Mary!
Malin Dravegård me too like this and sarah victor bridal make up
Beautiful look, Mary. Very soft and natural without a ton of fake eyelashes and contouring which seems to be the trend nowadays.
wow i love your technique! refreshing to see a makeup artist on youtube who knows what theyre talking about (besides lisa eldridge and pixiwoo of course)
Reem A And Val Garland :)
Reem A Wayne Goss, Monika Blunder, and Jordan Liberty are awesome artists too.
+Reem A And Jamie Greenberg! Love her :)
Reem A DIVE DEEPER INTO MARY'S BACKGROUND....SHE'S A MASTER!! XOOXOXOXO
Someone should video record Mary Greenwell every make up session. Then post it on CZcams daily/hourly. So I can have fun sleeping lulling to her make-up tutorial. That would be a bliss.
The model is beautiful to begin with but omg the makeup is just absolutely beautiful and naturally gorgeous!!!
the model is gorgeous
amazing how the shimmer in the eyeshadow has an almost "wet" look.. so stunning
this is by far the best bridal make up that i have seen
She has PERFECT face, perfect skin, perfect everything 😭
Thank you for bringing Mary back! She is amazing! This tutoriak was the best thing that happened to me today!
What a gorgeous model!
THANK YOU for bringing Mary back! I can't tell you how many times I've rewatched her other "Masterclass" tutorials on this channel. Love her approach to makeup & the way she applies products. It makes it so easy for us non-professionals to do! The base she did for this tutorial was amazing. MORE MARY PLEASE! xx
Mary Greenwell, what a legend.
Please have Mary Greenwell as a regular feature! She's simply marvellous. Love the eye shading and contouring!
This makeup artist makes me want to get rid of all my brushes. =)
Imagine being as naturally stunning as the model. She could go makeupless on her wedding day and nobody would bat an eye.
Gorgeous! I've watched so many makeup tutorials on CZcams and now, I've found my hero! Thank you, Ms. Greenwell!
Is the most beautiful bride look i have ever seen! Perfect!!!
I absolutely adore Mary. Great video. I love the way she just gets right in about it.
Incredible makeup artist and great model! We need more videos with her artistry lessons!!
Absolutely stunning! I loved this look, gorgeous. You are incredibly talented, Ms. Greenwell!
I worship at the Church of Mary. Love her. Cannot get enough. That said...I would like to see her use a model (probably a person off the street) with stronger features and perhaps show how to soften them. Thanks!
Love seeing Mary work her magic. More please!!!
Oh Mary I love your tutorials so! Please make some more soon! Thank you for this wonderful video btw.
Mary thank you this look is beautiful!
"It's a bit wired to wear too much blush on your wedding day" . take that Ms Charlotte Tilbury :D
XIAOMENG ZHU agreed. Charlotte Tilbury, in my opinion, always completely overdoes her models. Always toooooo much!
... and Kate Middleton too, oops! :P
It's the most beautiful makeup I've ever seen.
stunning yet subtle
Ms. Mary Greenwell, it is so refreshing, pleasant and entertaining to see you doing makeups ❤ What a gorgeous and great Make-up Artist you are! You make everything look so easy and uncomplicated, thank you 👌🏻
Good lord she looks a little rough putting on the moisturiser and foundation! Regardless this woman is fantastic. Love her accent and how she explains each step.
Great as usual Mary!!!!
Long live Queen Mary! I would die happy if Mary did my make up. Thanks GTG. More Mary please with her Chanel magic x
Wow absolutely stunning! I am getting married in May and will try my best to recreate this look! God bless you Mary! X
Dewy and wonderful!
This is sooooo delighful :) Thanks
wow stunning xx
simply amazing, so enjoyable!
So gorgeous! I have a laundry list if a Chanel products that I want- that cream blush and eye shadow quad are right at the top!
Sos muy Genia !!Gracias!!!!
I would love to see more skin variations in skin color, all these videos are so great but sometimes they dont adapt well
I adore Mary Greenwell. A wonderful lady she is.
gorgeous
LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely
More Mary Greenwell please!
Using a light concealer is a bad idea, because it's almost 10 shades lighter than the dark circle, the greylish color will pop out after application
Si I think she knows what she is doing
Oh, I forgot to ask, does anyone know of a dupe for the cream eyeshadow that she used? It's been discontinued.
The lipstick listed in the description box appears to be a misprint. May I suggest that in this video Mary Greenwell uses an understated peachy nude Chanel Rouge Coco in 61 Cheri - limited edition. A very enjoyable tutorial by the inimitable Mary Greenwell. Genius!
Okaaaay? Haha love Mary
I know someone else has already asked but what contour brush does Mary use??? I've seen her use it previously but it's never listed !
The bast makeup
Can someone please tell me what brush was used for contouring ?
Beautiful look. I wonder whats the name of this lipstick.
The make up ist beautiful, though you see at the end of the film when the model is posing with that veil (?) that the shadows are already starting to crease...
What was the brush she used to contour?
Weird... I've actually met the model. She's the Canadian singer/songwriter Elissa Mielke.
What brush is she using to sculpt the face?
WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE SONG???? PLEASE
Thats my everyday look. What am i to do for a wedding????
look like yourself on your wedding day :) that's my plan, brown eyeliner rose gold eyes and a warm lip in a pink or berry
I suggest to brides to look like themselves. If they already wear makeup every day, perfect. If they don't, it's ill advised to suddenly wear a lot. You want to stay away from trendy makeup. You might not like your photos 10 years later. Hair should be tidy and not too ornate. Skin should be fresh and not too powdery or shiny. Brows should absolutely NOT be blocked.
I'm sure you've gotten married by now lol. But for everyone else, I'd say just look like yourself (whatever makeup you'd do for a natural day look) and maybe amp up the intensity a BIT, if you're planning to take photos.
the makeup it's perfect, but it's also because the model has a perfect face.
What is the model's face shape? Mine is very similar but I've had the hardest time figuring it out. Looking to get a haircut soon. Any thoughts would help. Thanks.
was thinking somewhere between round/oval/heart shape
I thought it was diamond? :)
i would have liked to know what products you used and what ones you'd recommend
Question : how dyou use hands and fingers to apply concealer without leaving any fingerprint marks ? Everytime I do it it leaves fingerprints !! HELP!
You have to make sure that the skin is sufficiently moisturized.
Pat VERY gently like a billion times.
Did Chanel come out with a new concealer? What is it?
All Chanel products
Ps I'm counting the days til I can get that new eye shadow in pink ....
is this really right? Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in No.61 ? beacuse the google shows totally different colour, almost plum. Please chceck it again
ok it should be rouge coco
Every time I see Mary apply makeup, I go all Wayne's World. I'm not worthy!
I wonder what products and brushes she used...
Want her to touch my face :(
Looks so relaxing to have her put makeup on you
The model kind of looks likr natasha poly
I love this look but most of my clients would think it's not enough they like the instaglam make-up the graphic brows, heavy contour, strobing
cut crease, basically daytime makeup for drag queens that's how they like it. I'm the complete opposite I've always liked making skin look like skin not plastic looking and perfect, natural lovely skin doesn't look like that. I believe in just enhancing your natural beauty not masking it with piles of makeup. I do like a full brow but not when they look like cartoon brows. Don't get me wrong I also love dramatic makeup but there's a way you can do it without it looking like a drag queen and I love drag queens as well but drag queens paint their face is so heavy and so dramatic because they're on stage. Without it being heavy they would look washed out because of the stage lights. It's like women looked at drag queens and thought oh yes I want to look like caricature of a beautiful woman not an actual natural beauty. Hopefully this whole Instaglam trend will die soon.
It's a bit 80s princess diana in a good way
Maria G she was princess Diana's makeup artist
Great video, but the music is very distracting!
i wonder why mary doesn't always set the under eye ahahaha :)
Under eyes are better lifted with foundations and concealers, setting powder makes it look more cakey and bcz people are laughing and talking which moves the under eye area constantly, the layers often crack up if u use setting powder.
your model has this "Brigitte Bardot" resemblance!
These professional makeup artists have a very different technique than people like Patrick Starr and Jaclyn hill, but i wonder if those same techniques would look as good on people with typical NOT so great skin
Now you see the difference. People with not so great skin will use a lot of foundation and people with not so sculpted face will use a lot of contouring makeup. Hence why see a lot of people in instagram and here in youtube applying so much foundation, contouring and highlighting because their face isn't that modelesque to begin with. However, in some of Lisa Eldridge's videos where she had regular looking women as models, she didn't really also used a lot of those foundation and contouring techniques.
eyebrows?
Her brows are perfect for this natural look. Drawing them will take away the attention from her other features. I never fill in my brows either, bcz they are already thick. But if people have thin eyebrows they should fill them in.
For anyone wondering, her name is Elissa Mielke. In this video she was either 24 or 25.
Seems so rough with the foundation!
She's using a concealer that's been discontinued for many years. I have several backups. The new concealers are awful.
gorgeous but this is what i call a 'no makeup' make up
Very nice but on a bride who is very young and has got the freshness and natural beauty of youth and may not really need makeup! For a 30+ bride this makeup is too subtle to enhance her look!
Go watch Jaclyn Hill's!
lakeboww Lisa Eldridge does quite a few that are both subtle and elegant. JHill is way too over the top for a bridal look unless you're into the Kim K look.
I disagree. I'm 39 and this I wear less than this on a daily basis. My skin looks flawless and youthful. If you take care of your skin you can get away with very little makeup for many years. I put foundation on my chin and forehead (redness) and pinpoint conceal if I need it (I usually don't) put as much or as little eye makeup as I want, skip blush usually (I didn't put foundation on my cheeks because they're naturally pink) and pop on my favorite lip color that day. Good to go.
I'm sorry but this makeup definetely won't stay all day :(
Mary does makeup on this channel to SELL it (Chanel) to us, these vids are all basically ads for Chanel makeup with little practical use.
true... still, you don't have to follow the look product by product! you can always research and find long-wearing alternatives.
kristen candace yeah or not watch it lol
I wear Chanel and find that it lasts. I find them very 'practical'.
You can change the products to suit your skin and your budget. Not many can afford a collection of Chanel. You can find great alternatives at the drug store. Makeup technology has come so far in the last 10 years, there's no reason you HAVE to buy high end or luxury brands anymore.
Mary Greenwell is amazing, but I cringe everytime I see her applying moisturizers, bases, and foundations with her hands -- and so roughly! I always apply face products with brushes to reduce the amount of surface redness. Plus the poor model looks like she was being tossed this way and that. Regardless, Mary is the queen on makeup artists, I adore her.
so true!!!!
I'd love, one day, to get the Mary Greenwell "pummel"
I like using my fingers. It's more tactile. You really feel the product. Build a relationship with it almost. You certainly waste less.
A bridal make up for a child bride tutorial
You hurt your model
This is horrendous. If i wore that much makeup at my wedding day, my fiance would run away haha
Lots of women marry other women haha. Husband probs not the best word to use
