Aloha from Hawaii. I recently retired and just started growing succulents. I discovered your channel. Love how energetic and fearless you are with your plants. You are very inspirational. Thanks for your videos.

Omy gosh this video is so perfect for me. I have so many neglected propagations that I am so lazy to take care with. So I am ending to leave them to death. But now I have your tips, thanks!

I grew up with my grandmother loving succulents (her whole backyard was full of them (in Belgium even in winter they thrived), now many years later (I am 44) and living in California, Hubby and I bought a house and we were thinking of what to do with the frontyard with it being so hot and dry pretty much 9 months / year and then it dawned to me.... I want a succulent/rock garden !!!! So where my hubby works he has a lot of succulents growing and his boss allready said take as many as you want to propagate and grow... I am stoked about starting these cute little suckers (see what I did there). Love how you explain and how passionate you are :), just like my grandma used to be and how I feel looking at succulents
I'm excited for you. The best part of starting a garden is the planning and the end result. Good luck and Happy gardening. Thanks for watching.
I love Liz, and also Laura Eubanks in Cali, or Lele, in Cali. I have !earned so much from all three ladies, but Liz is the most fun!
Beautiful Succulents garden your leaf propagation is amazing some are tiny one... I started to collect some succulent hope they will thrive
Hi Liz, great video, will you find the time to plant and grow all the babies? Im sure you will….question about Pedro, how old is he? How did you ‘train’ him to stay around? Did you get him since baby? I love to see him around you…..best wishes for you and your hubby….Tere (USA)
Pedro will be 9 in October. I work from home so he's always around me. He grew up around my neck on a sling or a sock on my lap since he was two weeks old. Wal and I is all he knows. Wherever we go...he goes.
Thanks for this video, Liz, I really enjoyed it.👍Merry Christmas to you and your family.❤
Same to you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK agree hehehe
Hola Liz cuál es liquid were you put the lips with little baby. Thanks a lot if you give the response. This is an incredible video. I don’t have experience with succulents, a lot have died but I insist a do it good. Thanks for sharing your experience. 🙋🏻♀️👍🏻
El líquido que uso es alga marina. Es mucho mejor que el agua corriente y a las plantas les encanta. Cualquier alga marina líquida servirá y uso la mitad de la dosis recomendada. Gracias por ver.
Hi Liz! If you haven't tried yet...you may also add tags on your videos, tags of succulents featured and of topics you tackled in that particular video. That way we can easily find where it is! 😄
Thanks for the tip!
Hi Liz, my name is Sharon McCathy and I watch all your CZcams s, find it very interesting! I found this pottery old timer gold planner, and thought of you immediately, would like to post you you if you give me you address, I live in Tumut! Would love to meet you one day and talk about succulents!
Sounds great. Please send me a message on Facebook via "Wal N Liz." Profile pix is of Wal holding a fish.
❤📹🤣
great video, what do you do with all of the babies?
Grow them to maturity until they're ready to go into my garden.
Is that seaweed and water mix you put the babies in or just seaweed?
I never used straight seaweed as that would burn the plant. I use half the recommended dilution. Different brand will have different ratio.
This was very useful vdo. Can we spray leaf proportions that haven’t yet been put in soil with metho for mealy bugs? Also i have problems with all stacked crassulas. They grow and after some time the lower portions go bald and brown n naked n look ugly. The top continues to grow or sometimes dries up too. I dnt know if i am dng something wrong. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have learnt so much from you. Heartfelt thank you.
Leaf propagation with or without roots can be sprayed with metho. It doesn't hurt them. Stacked crassula likes water but has to dry up between watering.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Thank you so much.
Baclava???😂😂😂good morning
😅🤣Thanks for watching Kaye. You're first to comment. 🥰
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK you’re welcome ☺️yes i am the first ☺️
I am in England : Some of my leaves do give roots but most either dry up or go yellow and swollen and die. The ones that do produce babies are very slow to grow . There is about 5 or7 deg C variation in temperature where they are ......any ideas as to why I have so little success. I do allow them to callous and start on dry Akadama or tissue , I don't spray with water until roots form .If there is a little plant I put on succulent soil/compost and spot water on the root about half a ml each day. Help please
I dry grow my leaf propagations and only water them when they're rooted up. Please see links below this video on different videos on propagation and watering baby propagations. Cheers
Hi Liz I enjoy watching your CZcams videos. I have an enquiry, where do you find your granite rocks you use as a top dressing. I’m in Western Australia and it’s been hard trying to find any rocks like you use. Bunnings don’t have much stock in any rocks.
I get it locally from a friends farm but Landscape Garden Suppliers will have crushed granite use for driveways. Maifan stone available online is also decomposed granite.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
Thanks so much Liz.
I will have to wait until the granite rocks, or lots of other types are back in stock a lot of places in Perth don’t have it at the moment.
Thanks Raquel
@@raquelmorris4271 You can use the cacti and succulent mix available at Bunnings. Just sieve it to get rid of the big pieces of bark and then add some RICHGRO ROCK MINERAL available at Bunnings also and you're good to go. Use whatever cheap rock dressings such as scoria or basalt rocks and Bob's your Uncle. 🥰
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK hi Liz, I do use the basalt rocks but rocks of any kind are in short supply from a a lot of Bunnings in Western Australia. I will be glad when things are back in stock.
My leaf propagations have either lots of roots but no babies or they have babies but no roots. Only very few have both. What am I doing wrong?
It all depends on the plant. Some don't grow plants at all. The ones that grow roots will sometimes grow babies and the ones with babies but no roots might need a little helping by twisting the baby out(has to be big enough), as they sometimes have small roots that can't be seen unless removed from the mother leaf. Dry it first, them place on top of moist coco coir and wait for roots to pop out....then water regularly. Videos below might be useful.

Where do you buy your succulents from and do you sell them as well .❤️🦘🐨
I have a few plant haul video. Just uploaded a new one today and I just grow them for garden. Thanks for watching.
Where did you buy your decompost granite
Decomposed granite is also know as "Maifan stone." I get mine from a friends property.
Liz, anong season mas madali mag propagate sa Australia, spring or fall?
Depende po sa tanim. Karamihan po sa kanila ay temperature driven instead of the season. Basta hindi lang po masyadong mainit, anytime pwede mag propagate. Mga ibang tanim, kahit winter, grow pa rin sila kapag indoors at mainit.
Fred Ives is a common succulent that I can't find 😫
Maybe try joining Facebook Succulent groups. Most members near you are more than happy to sell or give you a cutting. Good luck.
Where can i buy the seaweed?
I get mine from our local hardware store but they're also available in Plant nurseries and online.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK oh ok…thank you 🙂
Pero dapat pot up as soon as possible para di sila masyado ma stress. Paki check out ng video link to give you idea kung ano ang dapat gawin.

Have you ever tried water propagation? I saw this video today ( czcams.com/video/ApB2KURiuRI/video.html ) which was interesting; and before I started learning anything about succulents, I found rooting sedum from my garden was very easy by just popping stalk cuttings in water for a while. Wondering if you’ve ever tried it and what your experience was?
I find that it all depend on specific plants. Some will do well on water props and some will root up quick but the minute they're planted in the soil....they seem to stop growing and new soil root starts to form. I find it's best to dry the succulents and plant in soil. They seem to grow fast for me.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK thanks so much for the quick reply Liz! I’ve been loving your videos; I’ve bought a moonstone leaf pup but I don’t think I see any roots on it unfortunately… do you have any advice on what i should do? I have it on damp perlite at the moment because I’m overwhelmed with too much differing advice online 🤣
