TheGigRig Modular Power Supply has a new heart. We're delighted to announce GenX14.
If your pedals aren't powered properly, nothing is going to sound like it should. TheGigRig GenX14 has all the juice you need for even the most current hungry pedalboard, while staying light and compact.
GenX14 Outputs
8x9VDC@200mA: 8 individual 9VDC outputs capable of a conservative 200mA each. This is more than enough for most pedals. All your standard overdrives, analog modulation and delay pedals will be able to be powered from one of these outlets.
4x9VDC@500mA: 4 individual 9VDC outputs capable of 500mA each. This is for your current hungry digital pedals from brands like Strymon, Eventide, Line6 etc. Each output will deliver exactly what these pedals need to operate at their best.
2x9/12VDC@1000mA: If you run valve OD’s/preamps, or something like a H90, these will need a huge amount of current to keep the pedal operating in the range it needs to be. These two outputs can each deliver a massive 1000mA each at either 9 or 12VDC. For pedals such as Kingsley and Effectrode this amount of current is a must and delivered beautifully by the GENX14. Each of the 1000mA outputs has two sets of connection tabs. It might be that you want to power a high current digital pedal and something else. The two sets of connection tabs for each of the 1000mA outputs gives you this option.
DC Input: Plug your DC power in here. GenX14 is designed to work with the 24V DC power supply provided but it will work on a wide voltage range from 9-34V DC.
IMPORTANT - Whatever you put into the DC INPUT will appear on the LINK OUT. Using the supplied 24V power supply, you will get 24V on the link out.
Confused? Don't be. Power can get complicated. We offer a service to help you understand exactly what you need to power your rig.
This new line of GigRig products are unbelievably cool. A real step up in aesthetics, and usability. Nice one Dan and the team!
Thanks so much Dewi, we’ve been working so hard on them, appreciate you noticing 🤓🙏
TAKE MY MONEY!!!
Thanks Andrea. In stock and live on the store now 🤓👍
Congratulations Dan and everyone at The GigRig - what an awesome evolution of your already stellar solutions!
Thanks so much 🤓🙏
I'm not a pedal user (I know, boo, hiss, etc, lol) but giving this a thumbs up because Dan is a lovely bloke that deserves the support for his products. World class quality and made with passion before profit... gotta tip your hat to that. Hope it outsells pancakes. Cheers from Aus.
wow Rob, thanks mate, really appreciate it
It’s so slim that you could incorporate it into the G3. Switching and power in one box!
G4 needs digital scribble strips with led colour too.
That’s not a bad idea…
@@ryanspencerlauderdale687 been saying it since helix was released. It is simply a game changer. No more labelling
this is a good idea
Ordered instantly! ❤ This is incredible! Much love, Alex.
oh mate, thanks SO much 🤓🙏🙏
I really dig this! Makes for super easy custom lengths. I was never a big fan of all those little modeler boxes. Sure they have their purpose. I’m glad they incorporated the push in things on a normal brick.
Thanks Nick 🤓🙏
Finally, a useful product which allow to connect all my pedals, without bringing 3 power supply unit ! My effectrode pedals thanks to you, will be on stage more often 😊 👍✌️
This goes on my next pedalboard. This is fantastic Dan & team
Thanks so much 🤓🙏
Congrats Dan and the team.
Cheers mate 🤓🙏
Boom! I feel an upgrade coming to my boards!
Thanks Neil 🤓🙏
Looks the real deal Tuppers - hoping the lad doesn't notice as we are about to enter 'board redesign' mode after purchasing a QMX4 (already thinking should have a got a 6!).
@neilpudney9851 Nice! Also on the upgrade shopping list is a QMX8 for me, but I'm rewiring my Chris Shiflett Tele first. 250k stock pots with humbuckers explain the dark, murky clean sound. Going to get a 500k loaded harness and try my hand at some soldering 😬🤞
Dan you are a bloody legend mate. What a product 🤩😍
You guys releasing this, and OBNE releasing their MTET, a G3 is looking so much more tempting now.
I gotta say this is a really well made ad: informative, not too long and filled with buzzwords yet still appealing (man I dont need this, but Im sure Id instantly buy it, if I had more than 5 pedals)
cheers mate 🤓🙏
Wow, well done, Dan & team!!!
Cheers Wes 🙏
Can't wait to get mine. Thanks Dan!
Thanks so much Tod 🤓🙏
If you’re not using or considering GigRig power over the others you’re missing the boat. I recently helped an artist trouble shoot our pedal not powering up. It’s was another power supply not providing the right mA voltage. Not an issue with GigRig
Cheers matey 🤓🙏
DIG IT!!! Congrats Dan!
Cheers mate, hope you’re awesome 🤓🙏
That looks like a simple solution for one of my main concerns of board building.
Ordered straight away. Selling all my cioks stuff. This is awesome!
Lockable voltage switches!!! 👍👍👍 Should be standard! I've fried a pedal from another manufacturers supply by accidentally sending it the wrong voltage.
Dan "The Pedal Solution" Man strikes again!
Perfect timing!
Dang Daniel! Great move!
Beautiful brother.
Thanks so much mate, really appreciate it 🤓🙏 let’s catch up soon
Well done! Very cool.
Thanks mate 🤓🙏
Way to go, Dan!
Thanks Eric 🤓🙏
Brilliant!
Thanks Scott 🤓🙏
Insanely cool
Cheers mate 🙏
Awesome piece of gear!
Thanks Mike 🤓🙏
Incredible
Ah, cheers John, we like it 🤓🙏
Soooo good! 🎉
Thank you!! 😁
That's exactly what was missing in your product lineup.
The entirely modular system is great, but in my opinion it's overkill for 99% of guitar players and more complicated than many potential customers are willing to deal with.
An all-in-one solution is just simpler to deal with. Speaking of all-in-one, is there any particular reason why you went with an external wall wart rather than an IEC input?
Size. We’ve managed to make GENX14 only 22mm thick. Also depending on what you’re using there’s a vast amount of supplies that will work with it 👍
DAN!!! 🙌🏻🥳
cheers Randy, hope you're awesome matey 🤓🙏
Very Nice!!
HXStomp is such a pain in the butt for power.
A demo on how to power this along with the big boss delays would help move some units.
(Seems to bug out when you piggyback some supplies together like the voodoo labs pedal power2 for example.)
I am on the fence and will potentially move to this setup for my next build.
Great idea 🤓👍
Want one!
Thanks so much Chris 🤓🙏
I was planning on selling on my generator and going back to a Trex psu but you’ve made what I thought you should’ve all along.
Nice one fella!
Thanks mate 🤓🙏
Oh that's a beaut. 👍🏻
i wish it could do AC like for a rotorsphere.
Same, I can't do without my Captain Coconut 2.
365. Mick here!
Impressive!
The only thing missing is an AC option.
Which is the only reason I’ve stayed with my antiquated Voodoo Lab. It has an ac option to power big pedal boards, Line 6 Helix or lights.
I haven’t seen the option on any other power supplies so until then. I guess I’m stuck.
Sweet power supply though for sure !!!
Thanks Rob 🤓🙏
Dan the MANNNN
Cheers Paul 🙏
Great product, Daniel! Let me ask a question that everyone’s probably thinking at this point. What can you use to mount the GenX14 underneath the smaller flat Pedaltrain boards, like 3M Dual Lock or Velcro, or some other variant of pedalboard adhesive?
Thanks so much Ryan. 3M Dual lock or pedalboard tape works great as does double sided tape 👍
I'm waiting for Noel G to say the plugs need to be further apart.😂
OH DANG. Genius. I’ve a question, can the generator be used to power this instead of the 14v supply that it comes with?
Hi Iain, absolutely 🤓👍
This looks awesome! Probably ticks all the boxes for my entire life. I have one question though: can the link out be used directly to power a 24v pedal? Let's say, for example, the new Laney Ironheart Loudpedal (which draws 2.5A in 24v). Whats the current draw limit in this case? Love you guys!
Cheers mate, it can, you just need to check plug size and polarity 🤓👍
@@TheGigRigDaniel awesome! Thanks!
Dammit Dan I have rent to pay! 👍👍👍
haha, cheers Greg 🤓🙏
Bonus question: can it power the Quad Cortex? It needs 12V/2A and I'm currently using a Cioks DC7 with 3 current doublers.
yes, using the two 12V outputs and a current doubler adapter cable 🤓👍
Hey Dan, Let me know when that piece I asked you about is available would you please? Thanks, Thomas Adams 11:11®️❤
Hey Dan and the rest of TheGigRig crew! What does it say about me that I become aroused at the mention of a new GigRig power supply?
It says you have great taste, if just a little misdirected 🤣
nice. when is the full functionality for the g3 app coming?
Working on the web editor atm, phase 1 of that will be dropping soon 👍
@@TheGigRigDaniel what about the app? will this be coming to that?
bump
Looks great. Will the G3 still ship with Generator or will you switch to GenX14 with new G3 orders?
G3 still has the Generator but you can upgrade to GENX14 if you want 🙏
@@TheGigRigDaniel Awesome. My G3 I think is due towards the end of the month, any idea on the upgrade cost or is it the same as a standalone cost on the website?
I was wondering the same. I am awaiting a G3 and was going to order all the isolators and things to start using the generator instead of the power supply I’m currently using. Now I am wondering if I’d be better buying this also or just ordering the isolators and such to use the generator.
this looks very impressive... but what I really want to know, is where do I get that shirt? it's so awesome
Ha! thatpedalshowstore.com 🤓🙏
Looks great! - are there options for powering centre positive devices? (e.g Shure GLXD+ wireless etc.)
Yep, just turn the wires around when you connect to the tabs 🤓👍
Awesome!
Is there an AC 12v adapter for these? Looking for something that can power a H&K Rotosphere. Also, is there a way to have a plug to power pedals that have their own built in plug or use an IEC cable for power (EG a Vibe-Bro or a Tube Driver)?
I noticed on the website this plugs into a secondary power brick. I love that the unit is low profile and can fit under a Nano but is the power brick larger?
Why don't you ship to Mexico, try to buy it yesterday and can't find Mexico 🇲🇽 to ship
You didn't mention in the video but I'm assuming all the outputs are also isolated? Therefore removing the need to use a gigrig isolator in those outputs? Is this correct?
Yes, completely isolated 🤓🙏
Is there a mounting kit that's sold with this, or sold separately?
Hi Matthew. One of the great things about the GenX14 is that it’s so light that you can use pedalboard tape or 3M Dual lock and it won’t go anywhere 🤓👍
For a bedtoom player using a handful of pedals, would this be a good move in terms of getting a less noisy rig?
Hi Periwinkle, if you only have a few pedals I would say this is probably overkill. We have a service called ‘Power Path Diagram’ where you can tell us what you’re using and we’ll design a solution that’s perfect for you 🤓👍
Another great idea Dan!!! Well done. Does this mean that the Generator will be discontinued and the distributors and isolators are no longer needed?
Cheers Jimmy, we'll keep both, GENX14 still works with the Generator, if you want a smaller board the Gen/Dist/Adapters is still a great solution.
@@TheGigRigDaniel thanks guys!!! The Generator is absolutely rock solid 🤘
Why does each 1000mA spot have 2 outputs each? Does that make sense? Can you use a Doubler or Isolator from any of the outputs?
Yes! The two sets of tabs act like a mini Distributor. You can power an Isolator if your on 9v or one of our High Current Adapters on top of what you’re already powering 🤓👍
@@TheGigRigDanielAh, thank you! Copy that. Would the G3 have to be on a 1000mA output or could it go on a 500mA?
Is there an adapter so I can run it from a kettle style lead? I have a Schmitt array pedalboard and quite just throwing a big chunky cable in the back of it.
Yeah, the adapter fits straight into the Schmidt Array board, I use one myself, works great! 🤓🙏
@@TheGigRigDaniel Hi Dan, could you elaborate on this please. Is the aforementioned adapter required to be purchased separately? Is there any chance you could do a quick or a small overview on a TPS episode as to how this connects with the schmidt array boards please? Thanks, Dean
Wait, so you still need an external PSU for this?
Comes with an external PSU 👍
I will admit I do not fully understand mA, but I can't help but notice theres no 650mA, would 1000mA fry the G3 unit?
Or is this not intended to power a G3 switch?
Edit: I ask because I'm currently budgeting to build my first big boy pedalboard and I already know I want to get a G3, but I'm a musician, not an electrician, so the tech stuff is still pretty foreign to me 😅
No, the unit will just take what it needs, so powering G3 from one of the 1000mA outputs is great 👍
@@TheGigRigDaniel thanks! Good to know
Will this power supply be able to power up all these without to buy extra stuff?
Chase bliss preamp
Chase bliss cxm 1978
Chase bliss thermae
Strymon big sky
Strymon mobius
Ernie ball Volume tuner
Hologram microcosm
EH POG
OCD FULLTONE
HALL OF FAME
MXR EQ
DITTO
Yep 👍
Yes! But I just tried to buy it, but Greenland isn't an option :-(
Please fix this so I can purchase one
Is it good cricket to install this upside down (as shown in the video)?? Thanks!
Hi! Yeah, the unit itself is very light so with a bit of pedalboard tape it will go anywhere 🤓👍
@@TheGigRigDaniel Thank you, Daniel! I received mine today and am very much looking forward to getting it on-board! 🙂
Can it do 18v ?
Hi Ben, absolutely, simply run two outs in series, instructions on how to do this are in the manual. Cheers mate
What's the price point? Looks bloody expensive.
Let me guess - it's a switch mode power supply?
The mains supply that comes with it is a heavily filtered switch mode supply but if you prefer a traditional supply you can use that too! 🤓👍
Yo! Anyone know why there’s 2 sets of connectors on 13 and 14?
Hi Rob, because those outputs are an amp each you can connect a couple of things such as a high current pedal and an isolator, or you can connect both 1 amp outputs in parallel 2 power a quad cortex etc
@@TheGigRigDaniel Thank you good sir!
What's the dimensions Dan?
Hi Danny, GENX14 is 160x82x22mm. The external 24v supply is 130x56x30 👍
can it power a quad cortex and an eventide at the same time ?
What Eventide are you referring to?
@@TheGigRigDaniel sorry, the H90
Hello any update ?
Are the outputs isolated
Absolutely
Can it power a Quad Cortex?
The QC needs 12v@2amps, so by summing the two 12v1amp outputs together in parallel you get what you need to power the QC 🤓👍
Woi!
Does it have isolation ?
Absolutely 👍
