he did not just "almost" get away with it, he essentially did get away with it. he didn't get fired, he quietly left the company with a $4m severance pay. he didn't get blacklisted, he didn't get arrested. he got no punishment whatsoever aside from being publicly labeled a creep, which is something many men seem to hold as some kind of weird badge of honour.
I donât think anything he did rises to the level of criminal. He mightâve been a creep who liked little girlsâ feet, but thatâs not illegal. Iâm not defending him, Iâm just saying that nobody has accused him of anything more than being a creep, as far as I know.

I was a dancer/singer for 17 years, and acted a bit. I had several casting call auditions for both Disney and Nickelodeon in the early 2000s. I couldnât understand why my mother would always keep me home instead. I would argue and cry for years, but my mother stood firm. My parents let me keep performing and training for fun, but never let me go to any auditions for TV or film. When I got older, mom told me that she just couldnât justify possibly exposing her child to sickos. The culture scared her. Iâm a mom now and I 100% understand and am grateful that I was protected by my parents.
Edit: To those who donât believe it, I donât think you understand just how much these kids channels were scouting in the 90s and early 2000s. They were scouting TONS of children during this time. Even kids with no performing arts experience weâre getting casting calls. They were even targeting families at malls just for having cute kids. Itâs really not all that far fetched and Iâm not special. It wasnât particularly rare to get a Disney or Nick audition. Especially not in NYC, where I was growing up.

On top of the possibility of dealing with sick and twisted people like Dan, all of these kids are being thrown into scenarios that I donât think any kid should ever experience throughout their childhood.

Its wild to think about how deep the origins of our favorite childhood shows and movies go. Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney, and unimaginable amounts more. Its kinda scary to think about how many monsters are in such positions of power, with employees there to just provide for their families and unknowingly/involuntarily building the corporations evil "machine". It's sad how they overally sexualized a bunch of children and probably did horrible things to those children and became they are rich they got away pretty much scot free. Arianna Grande's Kat was super sexualized in the weird Slap clips she did.
In that clip of the girls on the floor, you can see Elizabeth tap Ariana on the leg because she sees Dan coming. Seeing a young girl have to warn and protect another young girl like that breaks my heart.
Some of these kids left Nickelodeon as a mess like Amanda who literally became insane or Janette who gained an eating disorder after Sam & Cat (The REAL reason she refused to join the new iCarly show). Some came out great like Miranda who stuck with acting. Victoria who pretty much became an acting model. And ofcourse Ariana who became a best selling singer. BUT the vast majority left the way they came, as complete nobodies who sometimes do cameo's because people still remember them.
Papa Oompa with the serious content. It's nice to see a doco channel that isnt too serious to the point where the video is just sad. Keep it up, also thank Tara for the amazing editing and comedic timing.

Does anyone else remember when there was this weird photo of Carly and Sam floating around Google?
In the photo, the two are shown wearing skirts and stockings (but no shoes obviously) bound and gagged in the middle of what looked like a warehouse.
That shot never appeared in any of the episodes (that we know of) so the photo may well be fake, but given the rest of the fetish fuel scenes in Dan's shows, it makes you wonder if Miranda and Jenette were actually made to dress like that and get bound and gagged and told "Yeah, it's gonna be in the next episode, I'll explain later..." but the footage was really for Dan's "private collection" if you know what I mean.

The worst part in my opinion is that a lot of the parents of child stars know that predators take advantage of their children but they donât care as long as they are making enough money for the parents to live comfortably. A lot of child actors have no money from their childhood because their parents spent it on things for themselves instead of saving it or paying for the kids college. The parents imo are just as guilty as Dan for letting this happen to their kids knowingly choosing to keep creeps like Dan pleasured over the well-being of their child
