- In this episode we make a shiplap accent wall with LP Smartside, and continue to wrap up installing interior trim. I show you how to install a door when everything isn't quite perfect, and you can start to get a good look at how the Oregon Music Garage is going to look once done.
Stay tuned as this series is super close to wrapping up. It has been a Iong time coming, and I can't wait.
Looking for good hearing protection on site or at home that also doubles as your radio, allows you to take phone calls, and has noise reduction? Check out ISOtunes! I've been wearing them for over a year and they've greatly helped reduce the ringing in my ears at night!

Well done gentleman and its nice to work indoors once in a while😜
"Greg you know you were homeschooled" I came for the cool projects but quickly I realized that the back and forth between you and greg is the best part of all of these videos haha the two of you have the best comedic timing.
Always carry your PPE in your pick-up, Kyle. That way you'll never be without.
Good use for 'Smartside' siding. Interior only.
I love these LP infomercials!!
Greg you know, you were home schooled ...lmao!
At 3:50, it's Kyle's "mad at Greg" face. LOL.
Love the look on the 45degree accent wall with the smart siding where future stage is going.. Once painted, it will give a fantastic accent wall..It.will be interesting to see the new stone product, and if it installs like the Rosetts Stone. Keep up the great work and You and Greg stay safe and see you on the next video.
Greg's Tool bags looks like they come with a free bowl of soup. Haha
a parallelogram has 2 sets of parallel sides. a rhombus is a parallelogram with 4 equal length sides. a rectangle is a parallelogram with 4 90 degree corners. a square is both a rhombus and a rectangle
On behalf of all electricians, thank you for your attention to detail around the wall receptacles!
That accent wall turned out great!
Peaches from GA??!?!!! Welcome to my farm!! Athens Ga. Dude! Thanks for supporting my state!!!!
I get my weed from California
You keep giving "Outdoors With The Morgans" great ideas.
Lol
Definitely I always start with the hinge side perfect
That has to be one of the strongest RR Buildings you'v shown, to date.
Always bring your trailer!!
I can't wait till I can build a post frame home/garage it's gonna be epic and I'm using all your tips bro.
Not to add my 2 cents from the peanut gallery or anything but as a huge fan of your channel and the amazing work y'all produce, I have a little tip/ trick when it comes to setting that fire rated door. Since the concrete slab is out of level and setting the door plumb is crucial to operation instead of cheating the door out of plumb to allow for the difference in the floor because the door slab was rubbing the header jamb on the strike plate side tap the jamb up on the lower side to gain your reveal around the door. Finish carpenter of 14 years and I have set close to a thousand interior and exterior doors. 📐🔨
Looking good, guys! You were right with parallelogram and almost right with rhombus. A rhombus is a a parallelogram with all sides of equal length.
We used to call that a chevron accent wall. Very popular in the 1980's got sick of doing them. What is old is new at the moment. I get told all the time look at this new feature by the youngsters. Mostly the reply is we were pulling that out 40 years ago or we were installing it. If your young your young.
I'm wondering when the shiny brass knobs and light fixtures will come back
Very creative wall finish for both those walls.
Great work as always 👍👍🏴🏴
You're covered. I listened with my IsoTunes :)
Good tip once they had the starter pieces cut to size all they had to do was hold first piece on table and lay pieces below giving you exact spots at top and bottom for cutting the angles on next smaller pieces no measuring required
2nd to none, brother. Great work!
Another great video thanks Kyle & Greg!!
I caught that almost "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID" when you were putting the door in. Gotta keep it family friendly. 😉
Peaches from Georgia and weed from California. I thought that’s what I heard. Lol
Greg is good time🤣🤣🤣
Man I was going to be salty if you didn't show cutting out one of those boxes. Beast mode as usual.
Found a weakness on the Paslode as a contractor. It's more of a challenge to pivot between job sites with minimal tooling or from not breaking down the other site. Great video adapt and overcome.
That came out nice!
Those shirts are sick. Great video too!
Great video! It inspires me to get busy on my house!
Nice work Fellas!
Love your videos brotha
Great video 💥🇺🇲
This guy could pass for Prince Harrys brother.
Damn you Chip & Jo! Now everyone thinks that shiplap is just boards installed on a 45 degree angle. Ughhh!
Enjoyed the show
Looks GREAT 👍🏻
Yea, Greg!
Your door would be a parallelogram. A rhombus is a "square" parallelogram. That is, a rhombus is a special type of parallelogram (a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides), in that it has four equilateral (equal-length) sides. If a rhombus was squared up in its angles, it would be a square. If a parallelogram was squared up in its angles, it would be either a rectangle or a square (which is a type of rectangle). Clear? Oh, and all four are quadrilaterals. I'm a homeschool mom, which is how I know this stuff.
Kyle, the way you guys accurately measure and cut you don't need nails. May as will just save the money.
There is a product up here in the northwest called diamond kote. Its a smart siding thats even smarter than lp smart side and comes with a 35 year warranty I believe
Again, perfection from you two. Great job guys
@RR Buildings Kyle, do you have a video that shows how you do the trim work on an inside corner. I am currently building a post frame and could use some advice. I understand that you have j around the ceiling and on the wall on both sides, but how do you make all 4 pieces come together and look good?
Old Greg needs a mic!

Champion.
I swear I saw you on the LP smart siding website?!?!
Also besides not having a vapor barrier behind the accent wall, if the boards shrink your going to see osb thru the gaps
It's an interior wall
Every time, I read it as Oh My God in the title....LOL
We already saw you build a stairs. Where is that at? Thanks for this video Kyle. 👍😁
I can’t tell if all the double entendres are accidental or intentional 😂 “I like to throw it in the hole”
Good explanation but where is your safety glasses 🥽 Lol 😂
Don’t forget guys safety it’s first thank you 😊
Can I come down there to itch, poly, board, tape and paint one of yours and trade labour for you both to come and help me frame my pole frame home? kidding mostly but serious as gregs blue belt.
What’s your thought on painting the wall white or the final color first before the siding went on? I guess if they are painting, gaps wouldn’t matter that much.
Seems like the ship is missing the lap, not sure how the expansion/contraction gaps will look in the future. But maybe the interior aspect will solve that
12:21 I get my peaches in a can...they were put there by a man...in a factory down towwwwnn
Fuking awesome.
Peaches
Where's the concrete for my garage doors tho
Man I hate those multi tools. I'm just a DIY'er but I still do a bunch of jobs for fun on the side. They come in really handy when you need them but it seems like the blades are expensive and don't last long.
In my opinion, that smallest bit of the center angles should have been one pyramid-like triangle an not split in two like the rest. Love your videos though!
When you nailed the casing attached to the jamb extension @3:07; are you not worried about the jamb extensions moving? Because you didn't nail/shim them to fit to the framing.. are you solely relying on caulk? I'm asking because I have repaired hundreds of windows that were done your way..
Cool
You’re funny you keep saying we don’t have to be perfect but you always are about 99.9% of the time
Greg getting big damn boy what gym you go to
Howdy
The lack of height in that upper level makes every inch of my 6'6" confused.
Studs are never perfect, so trying to put vertical siding on vertical framing members would likely not look very good because they will show every imperfection in the crowning of the studs.
If you are installing vertical siding, I think it must be installed on horizontal framing members to avoid this problem.
Unless the wall was sheathed.
I think..
I guess I'm actually asking more than stating...
Great video, thank you, got my sub for sure!
☝️
I know your a big fan of the metabo triple hammer but have you tried the hydralic metabo impact its like the surge
I am moving to Kentucky and building a house but will need a 100 foof by 100 foot shop. When the time comes could you work in kentucky
What is the purpose of this "music garage" I have been following ,, I have wondered for a while now. As a musician and then sound "engineer" for about 30 years I have yet to see why one would build there for a rehearsal / performance / museum space within the close proximity of neighbors or layout of the rooms. Then at 4:20ish (pun intended) you say a music store, Boo . Let down but I will continue the series.
Any thoughts about trying to avoid face nailing and hole filling for smart side?
@ 6:34
"Greg you know; you were home-schooled." Greg also knows to do more work and less talk.
🇰🇷 korea 😍🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
What tool bag are you wearing in this video
They needed more power and A/V outlets if they’re doing live gigs.
No vapor barrier behind the accent wall??
Peaches from California?? WTH is wrong with Greg? Chilton Country GA peaches are the best!
Where's your handrails??
Which paslode are you using?
Too funny! Justin Bieber would be proud! :-)
SO... NO OVERLAP... WOULD THAT BE MORE LIKE "BUTT N RUN" INSTEAD OF SHIP LAP.....?
sure...but it gives it that look I guess...sorry
He has an Irrational Fear of Oblongs, not Rectangles mind you, just Oblongs.
The term Oblong is used to refer to a non-square Rectangle. ...
A Rectangle can be defined as a Parallelogram containing a Right Angle.
A Rectangle with four sides of equal length is a Square.
Thus an Oblong is a special case of an antiparallelogram and its angles are not Right Angles.
In geometry, an antiparallelogram is a Quadrilateral having, like a Parallelogram, two opposite pairs of equal-length sides, but in which the sides of one pair cross each other.
The longer of the two pairs will always be the one that crosses. Antiparallelograms are also called contraparallelograms or crossed parallelograms.
An antiparallelogram is a special case of a crossed quadrilateral, which has generally unequal edges.
A special form of the antiparallelogram is a crossed Rectangle, in which two opposite edges are parallel.
I have to take a shiplap, installation tutorial video break...
Crap lap on the ceiling?
What product was used for the ceilings?
Did Greg say he gets his weed from cali?
Which fruit has the most sugar?
am missing the curves and angles which I used to see
