Jamdani is actually traditional weaving, It's not counted as modern day garment sector. You know about muslin fabric of the mughals & British era, right? New age jamdani weavers are the successors of those ancient muslin weavers. India also has their own kind of beautiful jamdani yet the most famous jamdani in the whole world is ours. ❤️

Amazing video again, we loved how you are giving air time to the workers of the jamdani saree workers. These people work very hard all year round to produce these lovely sarees but are often forgotten about, so it was great to see you highlighting their efforts in the jamdani industry. RIP to the young guy, our condolences goes out to his family.

Businesses like this 40 year old talented and hard working Sharee businesses are the ones that needs to get more branded and be brought to the international markets, like they do in Japan. But unlike in Japan, the talented businesses here never get the attentions they need. I hope investors and entrepreneurs in the future see the potential in these businesses in Bangladesh, and help them reach global status. Maybe you can help these businesses by letting your European peers know more about these talented and high value workers and businesses.

    Carrie,
Once again you made me bow my head before you for, you've tried to touch the core of the centuries long Bengladesh's pride. These are the core people who inherits the aesthec beauty and keeps creating many varients. Queens of UK used to collect some of these unique artifacts. for them, the beauty is within them so they don't need to be exhibitionists... they are what they are. Unfortunate is, there are middlemen (beneficiaries) who relish the finacial benefits. I would request you to make some time to read about Bangal's Maslins and Jamdanees. How British rulers cut their fingers to destroy the world famous Artworks from the worlds history. But today, the government has been funding for extensive research works to rediscover the lost glory.

@@carriepatsalis By the time then the whole world was experiencing the shortage of raw material especially, making ample supply to the demand of clothing... Outside of the then British empire was controlling the cotton and carpus market centering Persia, Egypt and some Afirican regions. Britishers in fact, were loosing the control of the market... whetever products they could accomodate and sell in broader market Muslin and Jamdanees were atop the demand chart and since it was so exclussive and expensive Britishers didn't want to lose the common thread market. Perhaps, and also as per historical evidences, they wanted to stop this to be produced any more. Harsh reality.

The current government of Bangladesh is on the verge of bringing the glorious past of Maslin. And, they succeeded to a great extent. Also, the government has been funding to continue producing the very carpus cotton which only turns into be the thinnest thread for Muslin. I will try to give you the link to know exactly which ministry and department are working under those scholars and artisans. let me collect it. I;ll get back to you for sure.
