Huge Alabama fan here but I was disgusted to see the lack of respect for Michigan coming into this game. Dismissing their abilities as a team was just foolish.

Everybody in the stadium knew Milroe was keeping the ball on the last play, If you look at the play Michigan had that play covered. Michigan totally dominated the 1st half. 5 sacks in the 1st quarter.

If Michigan was as legendary as Bama was over the last 15 years, we'd have the same hubris as y'all had coming into this game. The reality is Michigan's front seven made Bama look like children at times. Milroe was sacked 7 times and had almost no time to throw to receivers that weren't open anyway. Bama's defense is the real deal and Michigan only had success because dudes like JJ stepped up over and over again.

Here’s the thing, we just got beat today. It happens occasionally. The reality is there’s a ton parity CFB today. There’s legitimately 7-8 teams this year that were capable of winning a championship if the 🏈 had bounced their way. Milroe didn’t play well enough today to beat a defense like Michigans. Rees called a decent game but negative plays killed drives (snaps, penalties, sacks). Congrats to Michigan, again they just beat us🤷🏻♂️

MI fan here, we needed to prove ourselves by beating the best the SEC had to offer. Your team was killing it all year long and what a classic game these kids gave us fans. God bless and hopefully we meet again next year.
It's a great win. I was an undergraduate at Notre Dame in 1988 and saw the classic missed-field goal with no time left by the Wolverines. Bo Schembechler was the coach. Decades later, he would have been proud of this win. The "catch" is that now Washington is up next - they beat Texas which beat Alabama at home.
Washington is going to wipe the floor with UM. They should not have even been in the playoffs with a coach that had been suspended 6 games for cheating.

The offensive play calling was horrific, the first half Michigan blitzed every time we went to a no back set & our offensive coordinator never called for very short passes or a Milroe rollout. I do not think the defense played well at all - how do you never cover the backs coming out of the backfield. How are we confused on defensive coverages at this point in the season?
The OL is the worst I have seen in 30 years.
I didn’t think about till I read your comment, but there was a similarity last year. In the OSU/GA game OSU accounted for the O/D line disparity by having Stroud hook outside the pocket throughout the game to buy time and avoid sacks. It’s something he didn’t do throughout the season but had to adjust. Either they didn’t think UM D was capable or something, but that adjustment might have made the difference

It looked like to me we reverted back to first of season. Thought this team was unprepared especially from a mental standpoint. I don’t know why u say defense looked good? I saw them get their ass whipped all game. I saw guys standing around, not tackling, not getting to the ball, lack of effort on both sides of the ball. Guess we thought we were playing South Florida? And I guess Harbaugh’s comments proved to be right about Milroe?
Harbaugh’s comments about Milroe were meant to be a complement. Orji is the most athletic player on Michigan’s team and Milroe is a much more polished passer than Orji.
Stubbornness. Instead of just playing simple 2-High safety concepts,playing 1/3rds or Qtr's? Especially on 3rd and long. Or in the Red zone. We want to continue to Pattern Match,play man,get walled off by bodies,and get gashed. It has cost us plenty over the years. As Coach Steele said CNS is the D-Coordinator and this game is on him.
Michigan’s d is the most complex d bama played all year. Basically everyone on that defense is an nfl player. The harbaugh line comparing him to orji is a compliment. Orji is an absolute freak athlete. He is 240 pounds runs a 4.3 40 does backflips and dunks basketballs between his legs. He also squats near 700 pounds. They are both from Texas too. I’d like to be compared to orji athletically also.
At the risk of being redundant, in no way shape or form did Jim Harbaugh mean to slight Jalen Milroe. He sees a world of potential in Alex Orji and called Milroe a polished version of Alex.
Who cares, the Tide has been dominating for 15 years under Saint Saban, a loss against Michigan (WHO HASN'T WON A NATIONAL IN 27 YEARS) is okay to me.
More power to them, I will be cheering for Michigan, they earned it.

Comparing Bama and Ohio State, there is a huge difference. Bama conducts themselves with dignity and respect in loss. Ohio State cries and complains. There’s a reason why Bama is always in the conversation, and culture is it.

Justice Haynes played well, I was shocked that he got that those carries in such a big game as well but he did provide a spark and some speed from the RB position that was working.

OC Rees was overwhelmed by the gravity of the game. I was very disappointed in the play calling. Also, how can we gonna entire season and still have trouble snapping the ball 😮
Not only Rees bad play calling but Steele let receivers go unnoticed out of the backfield. Bama got out coached period.

The bad snap on our opening drive of the second half hurt bad, killed a really good drive we had going! But I think we got out coached & out played overall so congrats to Michigan!

Going up the middle on 4th and Goal on the 3 yard line shows Saban has lost touch. They played like it was still 3 week against USF. They didn't play like they did the last half of the season. Defend it however you want this team played sorry compared to how we played in November and December....

The play calling critique reminds me of the ole Mike Tyson quote "Everybody has a plan until they get hit" It is just my opinion, but I think Alabama staff underestimated how good the Michigan defense is. They were scratching and clawing the whole game to adjust and figure out what would work. Sometimes you just have to admit the other team was better today.

Michigan fan here…Alabama has nothing to be ashamed of and they played a great game. I think a month off helps teams to heal up, but they can also end up being a bit rusty. I think it showed in this game that could’ve went either way. Michigans special team play just about lost the game for them. That being said…defense wins championships 〽️

McLaughlin killed our first drive after halftime with those two horrible snaps and had several more bad snaps after that

As a Michigan alum, I was hoping to find a podcast where the commentators are trying to fire everyone and everything, watch the reactions after Michigan played PSU and OSU . Dang it, looks like i have look elsewhere lol.
We are slightly better-rounded, by a couple of players, maybe. It was going to be a close game, almost no matter what. And what Saban did with this team since week 1 is sorcery, pretty certain.

LANK went to Lame this game. Team reverted to September's team. Defense kept the team in the game. I don't know what happened to Seth McLaughlin this season. Last year he was killing it at that position, this year he couldn't get a good snap off to save his life. Last play in OT, everyone knew it was going to be a QB run, we just didn't know it'd be right up the middle into the teeth of the Michigan defense and into our own o line.

Michigan was better in every aspect of the game. That being said, we certainly got in our own way and horrible play calling.
Bama is elite. Michigan made a lot of Defenses, Offenses, Olines, and Dlines struggle. Hold your heads high, you were one of the best four teams in 2023. Michigan, Georgia, and Ohio State are the others.
4th and 31. I cant help but look at this the way Auburn beat Bama on some luck with the kick six. Great feeling but eventually, luck runs out.

I just think that you can't win a National Championship without an NFL caliber QB nowadays. Alabama did it once with Jake Coker but they ran a punt back for 7 and got an onside kick for another 7 in that game which made the difference. You need a Tua/Hurts/Mac Jones. With Milroe he just isn't accurate enough downfield to be a threat. You can't just do bubble screens, running back runs, and Milroe running to win a game. Its just a one dimensional offence.

From elsewhere in the universe. The kids overachieved and won the SEC Championship and absolutely could have beaten Michigan yesterday. The entire lead up to the game everyone was talking about how this was Saban’s best coaching job in his entire career. Remember? They’ll get a National Championship.

Fire McLaughlin. He single handedly killed that first drive of the 2nd half. They were moving the ball down the field and were a first down away from being in scoring position. Two bad snaps in a row and they had to punt the ball.

Special teams kept us in the game. Dfence just needed one stop and couldnt come up with it.
People can get on Rees, and I question the play calling too, but I'm sick of McLaughlin skating on the bad snaps. The low snaps throw off the timing of the play. He's the most to blame as far as I'm concerned.
