  • With fuel getting more and more expensive, it appears the once booming big SUV push may start to come to an end. If you are looking for a new car that isn't super expensive, isn't electric, and gets decent fuel economy, the Toyota Corolla LE may be right for you!
With a 139HP 4 cylinder engine paired to a CVT Transmission, the Corolla LE can achieve City 30/Hwy 38/Comb 33 MPG.
The LE has an 8 in touchscreen and great features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®. The LE comes with a Premium fabric-trimmed 6-way adjustable driver’s seat and 4-way adjustable front passenger seat and room for 4, or 5 if you want to squish.

The B mode is for engine brake going down icy twisty roads.

  • @hazel555
    @hazel555 Před 7 měsíci +1

The B on transmission stands for break engine; used on mountain driving, etc., to slow your speed without wearing out brakes.

It’s not a bad car but not great either especially with the underpowered 1.8 engine it’s very loud which I don’t like. I recommend the 2.0 se model

Corolla’s 1.2 Turbo engine has some serious pull for such a small engine. Too bad it’s not available in the US!

  • @menguardingtheirownwallets6791

It is okay, but in 2023 the LE will get the more efficient 2.0L engine and geared-CVT transmission from the SE trim of the Corolla. So if you want to get a Corolla, wait till next year when the LE becomes much better.

The 1.8 litre engine is really good. I own the 2020 corolla LE, and it does the job both the city and highway. Don't let car reviewers fool you with the 2.0 litre one and yes that engine is standard for 2023 now. However that doesn't mean that the 1.8 litre engine is useless, it's actually easier to work on as it has been existence since 1998. The fuel mileage between the 1.8 and 2.0 is literally identical and most shoppers will buy this brand are more concerned with fuel economy after all not speed.

It depends on the way you drive, maybe you might get the same mpg with both, or get better mpg with either the 1.8 or 2.0
Edit: does not include the hybrid which is the slowest corolla you can get

I rented one of these a little over a week ago for two round trips from Pittsburgh to Cleveland.
    What I liked:
Very comfortable on the highway. It felt like a larger car.
Excellent visibility thanks to the large side mirrors and the use of a little window next to the A pillars.
The radar cruise was pretty nice too. I'm not sure if it had the lane keep stuff. But if it did, I didn't use it.
    What I didn't like:
Infotainment was confusing. I never did figure out if the car even came with the ability to connect Apple Carplay or Android Auto with my phone.
No built-in navigation that I could find.
I also spent my first 15 minutes in the car trying to figure out how to pull the key out of the ignition once I was parked and turned off. Seemed like Toyota designs ignitions like Pfizer designs safety caps on medicine bottles. Push the key in, then turn towards you to get the key out.

ive noticed that too 9:00, hard to see the front of the vehicle as the bonnet shapes down. also, the higher you sit, the rear view mirror becomes nearly useless as it doesn't angle up enough and you end up seeing back seats instead of the rear mirror. the rear view mirror angles down massively which is just pointless, you would never use it like that.

I had a 1999 camry (no cvt gearbox but the regular geared engine) that was picked up at 40k miles by my brother back in 2006. I took it from him at 86k miles in 2015 and drove it until 192k miles almost until 2021.
I then gave it to a local mechanic and it is STILL running and has clocked 210 miles.
