    Regarding car insurance, I knew this guy who lived in Las Vegas, drove to Pahrump and set up a PO Box, made the PO Box is garage and address for the auto insurance, and saved a ton of money. He basically had the PO Box forward all his mail to him in Las Vegas and no one was the wiser. It was like 50% cheaper over there!

    Thank you for a very informative video as I have lived in las Vegas for over 10 years now and as a I am a rideshare driver of over 7 years and I get a lot of people interested in moving here but there is a vast difference in partying on the strip for a weekend and actually living here full time in which people fail to realize that when you move here, you are no longer here to party but to work and pay bills as you would back home.

      Exactly, some people move there with a tourist mindset, thinking it’s an everyday vacation. The reality is you’ll be living the usual wake up, go to work, rinse and repeat.

    What to look for? Trashy, party animal neighbors. My first home in Las Vegas, neighbors behind me were addicted remodelers who had a project, noisy projects in their backyard for TEN years. Besides that, they would get drunk and argue to the point of multiple police calls. I found that above $2,000,000, the neighbors tend to be less annoying.

    Lauren thank you for an extremely informative video on life in Vegas I've been visiting Las Vegas since 2014 every year from Australia until covid stopped me in 2019 ,
    I refer to Las Vegas as the magical city as there's so much to do and the weather throughout summer is superb, I'd definitely live there although my friends who live there tell me its being flooded by Californians and they say don't Californian my Nevada, your definitely fortunate to live in such an awesome city , your presentations are extremely professional should I ever get the courage to move I'd definitely be seeing you for real estate as your company seems trustworthy for sure , look forward to your next video stay safe .

    First I will say that this was very informative. My wife and I are expected to move to Vegas from New Hampshire at the beginning or by the end of Spring. We have been looking for reasons to tell us not to do it but cannot find or come up with a single one, not to mention the unending signs that are pulling us directly into the crosshairs of Vegas. But I will also have to say, though you covered schooling including higher adult education, you didn't really mention anything about job opportunities. I know that Vegas obviously has an endless amount of jobs and careers to choose from, but I mean more along the lines of income and wages. Like what would be an ideal hourly rate for someone to live comfortably knowing that their finances are enough to cover their expenses AND be able to enjoy the many thrills that Vegas has to offer at the same time? If you could be so kind as to give some information on this I would be very grateful to hear what you have to say 🥰🥰🥰

    • @dantesthreshold
      @dantesthreshold Před 2 lety +2

      @@TAYLOR8mm I will admit that there are times when Vegas sucks (and I don't mean losing at a casino). The weather can be harsh in the summer, and in some areas the "locals" can be a little rough. But aside from that, what about Vegas actually sucks? As of this comment, I've been living in Vegas for a little over two months. I was able to nail a job in the health department and living comfortably in one of the nicer neighborhoods. Plus on my free time, I still get thrilled by walking the Strip. I love it here. But Vegas has different affects on everyone too. I'm sorry your experience was bad

    • @TAYLOR8mm
      @TAYLOR8mm Před 2 lety

      @@dantesthreshold Locals are rude and the heather is horrible. I'm enjoying the 50 degrees as I type this now in the bay area. I will never miss the hot summer and hot nights, to me living in Vegas was a true HELL and even tho its cheaper than the bay area, I wouldn't change it. We get all seasons here, spring is nice and the weather too, rainy and cold in winter, summers are very nice and not too hot, fall is breath taking! Vegas gets old super quick. I have a friend in Nashua and it looks so beautiful there I wouldnt mind living in NH either but the north coast is where I love it!

      Mostly lower paying service jobs unless you have jobs skills that will pay well in any city (medical field, auto technician, elevator repair, bartender / wait staff at high end restaurant, govt jobs, construction trades like plumbing and electrical). It's Wednesday June 29th 2022. A North Las Vegas police officer just dropped me off at my house. I was at Albertsons grocery store on Craig and Simmons. I paid for $180 for the groceries. Excuse me I'm still going through shock. I'm reflecting on the groceries that I picked out it's horrible. Okay back to the story. So I picked out $180 for the groceries. I payed for them. Then I remember I forgot a couple items. I pushed my cart back in the store and left it in the lobby and grab some cheese and went through the check stand and I paid for them. I went to grab my car and somebody stole it. Someone stole all my groceries. I called the police right away. I'm realizing I had four packages family packs of ribeyes and two 2 lb bags of shrimp, for 12 packs of soda. And many other groceries. I walked 2 miles to get there. I spent all my money now I have no food for the rest of the month. How could someone steal my groceries. Don't move to North Las Vegas. This is the third time I've been a victim of a crime at that Albertsons. I feel the employees were involved. I think the graveyard shift people were involved. Someone dropped them off and the person that dropped them off scooped up my groceries. I'm starting to hate society. I have no water and no electricity and now this happens. And this is supposed to be the safe part of North Las Vegas. Humanities f****** going to the s***.

    Las Vegas is awful. There is literally little to do if you don't gamble. Yes... you can hike in the desert as long as it is the few winter months. Most of the year, the heat is like sticking your head in an oven. The city is filled with strip malls. There is literally no arts. No symphony, no ballet, no opera and no art museum. If y ou like sports, then yes... the city is going in the right direction. Traffic is getting worse by the hour. There is no mass transit. You would think that with all that land in the desert the homes would be spacious and have nice size lots. The truth is the newer homes have tiny back yards that in many cases won't even hold a pool and you are literally 6 feet apart from your neighbor's home. The reason people moved out to Las Vegas was due to reasonable home prices and rents. Now rent and home prices are almost on par with California without all the beauty California has to offer. No ocean... just blistering heat and dirt. I am sorry, but I was so happy to leave and never look back.

      I used to live there too. Everything you said is true, also lots of miserable locals.

    #1 THING TO KNOW: Don’t move here

  • @do9138
    @do9138 Před 2 lety +1

    DON'T MOVE HERE. The healthcare is horrible. Driving around here is ludicrous because it is impossible to turn left into or out of anything. In addition, there is a particular blindness about how to use signs. Housing costs are ludicrous. There is ZERO shade. There is one good thing about Vegas - it is VERY pet friendly. The veterinary care is much better than the health care for humans.
