Words can not describe how pumped I am for this movie. I remember reading the books back in high school and seeing the movie in the theater back in 84.

When he says: Long Live The Fighters! I get goosebumps all over! I'm a fan of everything DUNE! The best adaptation so far! DUNE I came out it was on Disney, and I have a Disney subscription but this movie has to be watched in IMAX!

The first movie was one of the best movie theater experiences of my life, right up there with Matrix and Gladiator. IMAX is a given.

I've read the series 3 times...all 6 books....usually about every 4 to 5 years.
I'm due to read it again for the 4th time.
there's like 15 other books in the Dune Saga. They're not as good as the original 6 but they're still really good. i think written by the authors son@@katjunket7305

In the immortal words of Bart Scott..........."CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!" I first read Dune when it had just been published roughly 60 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since. Each film iteration has had its good and bad points, but Denis Villeneuve is the Padishah Emperor of Filmmaking.

@@anthonyhowrard526 I don't think so, unless it's right at the start of the movie. Stilgar realizes pretty quickly that Paul is WAY beyond him. Paul doesn't want Stilagr's job - he wants the Emperor's!

@@billholder1330 In the book they talk about Paul becoming the leader of all the Freemen tribes and would have to challenge Stilgar. I wont spoil it if its in the film what happens.
Paul gets challenged by others and it get to a point that His GF kills one to show a point that they are not worthy so are killed by a chick.
The emperor has red hair! It is mentioned several times in the Dune novel and none of the Dune treatments have gotten this right. However, I am looking forward to Dune 2.
the emperor also doesn't look a day over 36 despite his age. Just read that a few days ago (again).

I swear, this wait has been almost unbearable. Mr. Villeneuve, if you ever read this, my mind's still reeling after what you did with the first half of book one. The film ended and I watched it again immediately afterwards. There were a few times after that, too. Every hour of every day since then has involved at least one thought to do with how wonderful it'll be to see it go on. Times being what they've been, a lot of the time, after catching some news by accident or learning of the passing of some restrictive new political bull that's bound to make things harder for simple people like me who've been around the sun a few times and wouldn't mind a break, just the thought of the next part of "Dune" coming out has been enough to give me reason to keep eating, no matter how poor my appetite has been.
And I know you're going to do us proud, Mr. Villeneuve. "Arrival" blew my mind. "Dune Part One" blew my mind. Hell, I even saw an old artsy film you made about a bunch of gluttonous aristocrats eating their way into the bowels of Hades and IT blew my mind.
I doubt you will ever see this, Mr. Villeneuve. You're surely too busy for CZcams comments beneath CZcams-hosted adverts for your films. But I reckon any fan mail I sent you would be just as unlikely to ever reach your desk and even if it did, I doubt you'd ever find the time to read it. So I guess I'm just deflating myself a little. Venting. The excitement within me is of an explosive type.
"Dune" was two and a half hours long and felt like it was over in five minutes. I feel like I've been waiting for the sequel for decades. Time, you cruel monster.
i am currently reading the book again and am now in the second half of the book. Paul's premonitions can't be stopped even by himself. The terrible path of the jihad. Millions of Fremen swarming through the galaxy. The Feydakin, the rite of passage of the sayyadina. I am so curious to see what the will incorporate to let people really see the true Dune story.

I want Villeneuve to direct the whole series, or at least Dune Messiah and The Children of Dune.

No children of dune. Just Messiah.. a definitive wrap up of the legend rise &fall of Atreides.. the rest is absolutely unfilmable unless it's in boutique series format &any such series would be the most expensive i history
Scifi channel did a very respectable low budget job with messiah and children...so they can be done. God emperor would be hard.
@@christophermccarthy884 God emperor could be done as a series of flash-backs from the perspective of The Worm as he is dictating his hidden note book into his ixian notator machine for posterity. This allows him to explain the thought processes and show what happened in a relatable format.
Loved the Euro series 22 years ago.
I think Javier Bardem's accent makes him all the more brilliant as an actor..

Chamalet has that booming voice that belies his appearance. So perfect.
Makes me wonder if they added something in post production...only the editors know for sure ;-)
Yep can't wait to see this one as well. Dune is my top 2 movies of all time. Blade Runner is my other one. And since I am 47 that is saying a lot.

I remember when I found out that Legendary had the movie rights. I was very worried about what they would do to my all time favorite sci fit story ever written... Then I found out that Dennis was directing it, and I knew all would be right with the world.
Denis Villeneuve is on a one man mission to save cinema as an art form. Braindead ppl clapped like seals for 3 hours of Avengers Endgame garbage but moaned and whined that Blade Runner 2049 was "too long".......Dune part1 could have easily been another hour longer and I would have savored every minute.
@@yurimodin7333 Just finished it for the third time. Getting ready for the second installment. I can't wait. Another one I'm excited for, is Rebel Moon, coming to Netflix in a month or two. I really hope it's as good as I'm told that it will be. Personally, I really enjoy Zack Snyders take on stories....💪✌️

Dozens of movies spanning over 10,000 years that even Herbert’s Son expanded upon; Thinking Machines rising to control a vast human galactic empire and totally enslaving all but for a few distant worlds on the outer reaches of the galaxy and the fight against artificial genocide, the discovery of Spice on an unimportant world to Machines and the mental evolution of the human mind to surpass even the most advanced AI that AI could imagine…Spacefolders. Frank Herbert, and later his son Brian Herbert created a saga of the human experience injecting modern science and modern ideologies juxtaposed by ancient feudal systems that dont just cover small land areas of an ancient and mythological Earth, but huge swaths of the galaxy, and the interstellar conflicts that allowed humanity to be overtaken by its own need to build a Thinking Machine, only to barely survive the result and take back the birthright of what it means to actually think.

Against the Fremen you are nothing Sardaukar or not.
Sardaukar fought because they had to. Fremen fought because they wanted to. Somewhere in the books it hints sardaukar lived opulent lives once trained. Fremen struggled for survival every day.

I dont like how they changed the line from the book. "The power to destroy a thing, is the absolute control over it." Should have stayed just like that.
I don't usually go to the theatre anymore, as most studios produce spandex wearing super-hero BS. I will be going to see this.

This movie looks absolutely insane. There is one flaw with these movies however, the voice in the music is jarring and does not add to the aesthetic. I don't see how people dig it, or how it was chosen to be the overarching sound of both movies because literally other than that voice the first one is pretty much flawless.
I think the voice makes me want to go into battle I don't know what you hear butI hear something extraordinary in the voice brings the people together
Let me live long enough to see this.

the books were great. they kept bringing duncan back as a clone for thousands of years. and, he was there at the end.
March 2024 cannot come quick enough.

Part One was excellent although I'm still undecided about Timothy C. as Paul. He just does not have the gravitas .... the inherent grit to lead men 2 and 3 times his age and experience into battle.
