DUNE: PART TWO
The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (“Fences,” “Lady Bird”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.
“Dune: Part Two” was filmed on location in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Italy. The film is slated for a March 15, 2024 worldwide release from Warner Bros. Pictures. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
“The power to destroy a thing is the absolute control over it.” One of the most powerful lines in the book. Glad to hear it!
Reminds me of the line from Schindlers List “Power is when we have every justification to kill but we don’t”
Master Oogway: Control is an illusion. 🐢
Except that it is this very line that humanity thinks gives it licence to destroy.
Powerful yet too simple, what if both opposing parties have control over a thing, is each control still absolute? The truest power is to have control over your vector of intent, then you cannot lose for you have already won.
We're Moon Child, we have absolute control over things.
I love how you can already feel Paul’s darker turn in this trailer alone, I’m so excited to see how Denis finishes this story!
Hope they will do Part 3: Messiah
The whole underlying point of Paul's story is the idea that one should beware the dangers of charismatic leaders. Even Paul recognizes this and wrestles with it. I love that this adaptation seems to be embracing this, unlike the Lynch film that fundamentally undermined the entire point of the novel by making him a hero and literal messiah.
@lannes2068 yeaaah me too. I love 3rd book, and love how things turned in this story! There gonna be real GoT in space.
I'm even pretty sure that original GoT got smth from this book👀
Before Eren's rumbling we had first Paul's galactic jihad.

I'm not even a Dune fan and this trailer made me tear up... this is what sci-fi is supposed to be with our current technology. This should be the new standard like how Dark Knight was for Superhero movies.
100% facts.
Essentially Villeneuve should keep all the art departments that made Dune movies and just keep giving us movies with this quality forever, haha.
A new standard that won't be met...b/c after Dark knight, Hollywood went back to making crappy superhero movies...future SciFi films will never live up to 'Dune'

This made you cry? Er, OK......
I just watched DUNE 2. I have only one thing to say as a childhood fan. DUNE 2 WAS F’N EPIC!!! I was trying to not cry during the movie. I love the twists in the story, they really know when to do it! I’m so proud of Denis Villeneuve and his work! What a masterpiece!
I watched it for the 2nd time since Thursday, and I'm not even a fan, but it's just so good.
This series being my first experience with dune as an adult I cannot stress how great this trilogy will be for the sci-fi genre it might be the best honestly.

I never thought he'd be the one.... but you are right...
"There is nothing more dangerous than a charismatic leader" - Frank Herbert. The fanaticism in Stilgar's eyes as he raises his crysknife and professes his belief...Denis clearly understands what Dune is all about. Cannot wait for this movie, and then Messiah after it.
Stilgar went a big dumb bear real fast!
yeah a lot of the adaptations never really show his fanaticism that rises all that well

Should have been “long live the martyrs” like in the book, the scene in the book is stripped right out of a speech from Algerian independence fighters back in the 50s too.
Gives me goosebumps everytime
I don't care what people say about Timothee Chalamet, he is going to absolutely slay Part 2, just as he did Part 1.
When Paul yells “Long live the fighters!”, totally got goosebumps! LOOKS INCREDIBLY PHENOMENAL! Better than the first trailer and that’s why this is my most anticipated movie of this year.

Watched it today, and man I am not even hesitant to call it one of the best sci-fi adaptation of all time. The story progresses so organically, nothing felt rushed, the lore and the world comes naturally and keep building up and up. You know a film is good when you get a jaw drop and that too in a scene where Paul is just speaking passionately among Fremens in the latter half of the film, so powerful.

I'm really pleased that although this is totally Denis' work in every way, there are nods to the previous 80's version in the props and the costumes. @@fred6907dune is one of the wokest stories. It's going to be amazing
@@pacotaco1246Dune has character development which disqualifies it as woke. If it was woke, Chani would find out she was the most powerful being all along and would have taken over the galaxy in Part 1.
Because of Dennis doing so good on the first movie, ive needed more, and have read every book both Frank his son Brian have written in the Dune universe. So good.
I first read this book in 1970 & fell in love. I've read the entire series but the very best is DUNE. I've seen all movie/tv versions of Dune. Each one is good in its own way. Took me a minute to 'see' Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides
but by the end of Part One I was a believer. Can't wait to see Part 2.
This adaptation should give everyone hope that well-made, big-budget films are still possible.
I can't wait!
Dune is demonic. Repent and receive Jesus as your Lord and savior. 🙏 ❤️

I can feel the darker turn around the corner and I love the feel this trailer gives. I am excited! I know I’ve only read the first three Dune books, but is it foolish to hope the six OG books all get adapted?
If they do the third book, they wouldn't lose the opportunity to do God emperor of dune and bring Jason Momoa back
Well, consider the fact the duel between Paul and Feyd is teased near the end of the other trailer. I'm guessing this sequel will wrap up the first Dune book and I don't see them ending things there.
@@DngrDan
Yes, I did notice and them not being done is my hope. Villeneuve stated he would adapt Dune Messiah if Dune: Part Two is successful. I just hope that they continue to be successful and that he pushes through to adapt the six OG books.
i think that they should adapt till god empereor , because after that the saga lets say that "resets" ,with different characters . so they should end the fourth book and then adap heores and legends of dune ( dune: house atreides, corrino , harkonen, butlerian yihad, battle of corrin etc)
@@emmanuelfontalvo7523 Imagine if they adapted _everything?!_

Greatest movie I’ve seen since Arrival oh wait Denis directed both. That man is a national treasure.
you can FEEL the scope, the power, the stakes. top tier film making.
I feel like we don't talk enough about how perfect is Timothée as Paul. The emotions he is able to convey without uttering a single word! Part One proved he understands the character perfectly, now he's taking it on a whole another level. Absolutely stellar. A legend in the making.
He looks old for Paul
People seemed to like to bag on his performance being "wooden" and sorta dead in the first film.
I am like, "That just shows how good he was at portraying the character. He was still asleep, you didn't see him start to awaken till the end of the film, where you see him start to be who he is meant to be."
@@alexwest5258 Not really-- Paul is 15 or 16 at the start of Dune, and 19/20 when it's over. He looks pretty young himself.

why would we need to talk more about it? I mean we all saw part one, we know he's good

Timothy Chalamet is one fine fine man-
Dune was a visual masterpiece and i have no doubt in my mind Dune 2 will deliver a even better experience
It's going to move faster too, which will satisfy the lame who whined that the first part was "too slow."

Timothy does rage so well.. honestly, he does everything well. Not surprised his career is going places.
Very good casting.
He looks like a boy who always has very good reasons for all the harm he does.
3years I've been rewatching Dune while waiting for this
Just watched today .. it will be one of its kind that’s comes only once in many decades
i love how this second trailer gives us more of a glimpse into what to expect from dune: part 2, emphasizes paul’s dark turn a little more, all while keeping all the major parts in the plot unspoiled and focusing on the amazing cinematography! whoever edited this deserves a raise!!! i’m even more excited to see this now! this is a true cinematic masterpiece!!
The only amazing part is cinematography. The actors are awful.
@@trhansen3244bro what
@@dallashewitt3742 The cinematography is fine. The actors stink. They can't act. They have no idea how to act. They are awful. Zendaya may be the worst actress I have ever seen. And this is what you are looking for. How pathetic.
Also seems to be more focus on Chani as a Fremen warrior and her role in wanting to help her people,as well as Stilgar slowly turning into a fanatic which I'm sure will lead to some great moments!
Si true the fact I know their faces already breaks the immersion they're so bad at acting ugh
Can we just acknowledge how damn insane Timothee Chalamet’s performance is in this adaptation so far?! He really looks to be nailing the dark turn Paul will be undergoing in Part 2. The primal intensity in the eyes at 2:42 is chilling. That Paul right there is ready for war. Primed to kill every enemy. I can’t wait!
Yeah, that rally caught me by surprise.
he's so damn good, honestly. Perfectly cast.
He's a really good actor. Saw him in a Netflix medieval film and he was really belivable in that. He has a good reputation as well with other actors I think.
I love him the first trailer where Paul is about to fight feyd ratha (sorry spelling) and says "may your knife chip and shatter" exactly hoe I imagined it in the books! So detached and just his voice omg. I am so excited I could pee my pants
I thought the same. The tone of his voice is chilling
Was stunned by the Dune movie of David Lynch, decades back.. But Dennis's vision is amazing. Waiting to watch Part II
1:39 the sound effects are already beyond good
If trailers won Oscars for audio/visual effects, this one would deserve one. That shot with the explosion at the end is so beautiful and sounds 👌
Its a 3 minute trailer so if the movie is 2 hours long then you just watch about 3% of the movie already :)

This was absolutely stunning! Everything was epic... cannot wait to see it!!!! Denis did an amazing job, you can totally tell that this was a work of passion for him, it was amazing!
Got chills during the entire trailer, that hasn’t happened in years.
Love the way the music climbed with Stilgar's speech on his beliefs, then you see his maddening expression of hope. And the sandworm erupts behind Paul, as if to say that his rise is becoming so much more. That look in Stilgar’s eyes as he raised his crysknife was a glimpse of how the Fremen would become the fanatical religious legion and birth the JIhad.
Muad dib. Muad Dib MUAD DIB!!!!
That was 100% fanaticism is Stilgar's eyes I love it
Ya agreed, just like in the books I get the feeling Javier Bardem is going to carry this film as Stil. Good enough actor to do it too
Out of the 3 trailers for dune 2! This one was by far the coolest
Watched this on last Tuesday. All I can say is that it's a work of art and deserves a billion dollar mark.❤️
The shot of Gurney walking with whom im assuming are the last surviving fighters of House Atreides in full armor and swords drawn gave me so much chills. I cant wait to see this film.
True!
In the books they are a combination of Atreides' best and brightest and the Arrakeen smugglers.
I want 50 legion of Sardaukar on Arrakis at once!!!
I just saw this move on an IMAX screen. OUTSTANDINGLY DONE!!! I would highly recommend it!!
Finally got to see this film the other day first time seeing a AMC Dolby screening and it was a 10/10 experience. The film was a 10/10 as well definitely have to see this in theaters the only complaint I have is how fast the story progresses during this movie.
I absolutely love how they handle the technology and outfits. When part 1 came out, I was so used to Marvel movies where everyone always just pulls a device out of nowhere that can do anything and the costume designs seem to just be based on what looks "cool" so it was SO refreshing to see a sci-fi movie take the time to establish how the tech and costumes work and what their specific functions and limitations are. Makes the setting seem more grounded and lets me immerse myself in the setting a lot more. Can't wait to see more of that in part 2!
It helped that Frank Herbert was so specific in his descriptions of how all the technology worked, even if the explanation was simply "it's a Holtzman field".
@@fakecubedThat's something I love about the whole Dune saga. Frank really set up a functioning universe that feels real. And he didn't overexplain everything. Which gives space for the audience to imagine what wasn't expanded in the books.
Yess my favorite type of story is where things just make sense, even if they can't exist in the real world (yet). I'm so happy there are more people who get it. It allows for much deeper immersion than when it's explained with something like magic or impossible technology beyond comprehension. Dune is pure genius
I think the costumes within the movie are great but according to the book some of the movie to me is slightly inaccurate. Being in the desert of arrakis as a fremen it is know to have a stillsuit covering the body and face at all times but it seems that at times this doesn’t hold through, where fremen are shown to be in the desert but without stillsuit covering the majority of their face like the book
@@johnlenihan4306 Yes, well, because if they were wearing full stillsuits, you wouldn't really be able to tell who each character is. It's a movie, it needs to work like a movie.
Beyond the fact that I just adore this story and how it's being adapted so far; In general I just love that we are getting a completely sincere Science Fiction Epic that fully embraces it's dramatic side. Unlike seemingly many people I actually don't mind the quippy scifi romps with comedy baked in. I'll watch the well told misadventures of a found family of knuckleheads any day. But it's just refreshing to see a big budget film like this in this tone. Reminds me of the original LoTR films and how they gave a world that the general audience could easily have found silly a feeling of earnest gravitas that took itself completely seriously even in it's lighter moments.
Yes absolutely.
YES!! You are articulating what I've been feeling. This type of film is so rare these days and this one... it's just incredible. I'm so thankful it's being made and hope this brings back the true Epics. I love my Knucklehead crews too, but I'm ready for serious sci fi drama again.
Yes! Rian Johnson did a good job with Star Wars, but it doesn't have Dune's artistry, vision and emotional gravitas.
Well worth the wait indeed. Left the theater with a lot of emotions
I saw Dune: Part Two in IMAX last night! It was the GREATEST MOVIE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!! I will remember this theater experience for the rest of my life! Everything about Part Two was absolutely phenomenal, from the story, to the acting to the incredible score by Hans Zimmer! This is honestly one of the best films of the decade!
Cant wait to see it in IMAX. Timothy Chalamet is the best of his generation !!!
That "LONG LIVE THE FIGHTERS" was said with such a power that I never even thought Timmy could ever pull off

@@wiinterflowers4277by the end vowel I did catch a hint of it
@@Blackarooni Attention to detail
There’s a cool interview with Denis where he mentions having to dampen Timothy’s acting in the first movie, saying, “no no you’re not Muad’Dib yet” and this scene definitely shows Muad’Dib
@@davidhartleycombs2465 Not Muad'Dib.. *FULL POWER* Muad'Dib. Like I didn't think Timothee wasn't that bad in part one but his acting really shined in the tent scene.
I have so many praises for Dune (2021), and Dune part II looks even better. This cast is stellar, but Timothée Chalamet continues to impress me. The change in his eyes, demeanor, and even the power of his voice even on this trailer alone just portrays the difference from Paul now that he has all the power to the somewhat innocent, naive, green Paul Atreides who was thrown into this journey with no prepare from the first movie. He's doing an excellent job and I think more people should acknowledge that.
Yes sure , he fits the role of the prophet so well. You can see the change by the end of the first movie but when you compare his take on the character with the book , there’s enough differences between the movie version of *naive Paul. I hope he’s good here, trailer seems promising.
Especially when his voice is deeper for "Long live the fighters", it gives a feeling of maturity
He's always been an excellent actor, ever since his breakout role in 2017, but there's a danger he could be taken for granted now. I bet the Academy will continue to overlook him here, and only give nominations to supporting actors like Austin Butler. However, even they may find his comedic Wonka performance in December impossible to ignore.
@AbcDef-ww2gy You may not agree with me on this, but I feel like as Timothée has become kind of a "pop star", the academy won't take him seriously, for some reason. I think that's the reason why (the hype is too much, and it's a bad thing, in this case). He's given amazing performance throughout the years but the academy just ignores him. I don't know if you've watched Bones & All (the most recent film timothée chalamet did), and some of the reviews were only praising Taylor Russell and Mark Rylance, and one of the reviews I read even said something along the lines of "Timothée did well, of course, that's a GIVEN.." and proceeded to highlights other actor's performances in the film. I get the feeling that's just how it's gonna be, and it's not different within the Dune fandom imo. Timothée won't get praises for his performances, but he's doing amazing.
@@flck-ns1vr I do agree, and the name for it is the "Slap-the-Stud" syndrome. Leo DiCaprio suffered from it for decades, before finally winning an Oscar in middle age. His biggest snub was when Titanic swept the board with 14 Oscar nods and 11 wins, but they somehow forgot to nominate the lead actor, as if he had nothing to do with the film's success! The fact is the Academy is still two-thirds male, and they are naturally jealous of handsome younger men. Actresses under 30 frequently win Oscars, but men under 30 never win Lead Actor! (Well, once: Adrien Brody who was just a month under 30, and played a Holocaust victim.) Maybe if Timothée didn't always have girls screaming at him, they would take him more seriously...
We have not seen anything like this movie be for ...I read that books before ,but seen THE movie man,,looking forward to too enjoyed the move ..thanks .
