- Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr., p.g.a. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, p.g.a., Amanda Silver, p.g.a., Jason Reed, p.g.a. (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Why is it this franchise is the most underrated sleeper hit of the decade. It’s just quietly carving out its own universe creating legendary stories each film
In my opinion the best movie franchise out there.
The villains are bonobos Wich is the most peaceful ape, Wich shows how twisted the villains have to be.
The ape behaviour is much better then the ancient planet of the apes franchise wich makes it more compelling.
itsa remake of a famous series of movies..wtf are you talking about

@@bladerj it's a different take.
It's has to have the same stories for it to be a remake.
This has the same concept and name but it's completely different.
The modern day franchise begin when apes where intelligent and shows how one ape changed everything.
And unknowingly sets out a disease that kills most humans and leave the survivers primitive.
And it now goes into civilization.
The old movies where set in a time where they where technically advanced.
So not a remake.
@@bladerjdoesn’t mean people expected it to be this good, hence the word “sleeper”.
"Together we are strong" is such a cool callback to Caesar in the original.
For real
It'll always be learned by the smartest apes and smartest humans eventually, a universal truth
Honestly hoping that our protagonist is a descent of Ceasars or a relative
That's literally the definition of the world Faschism btw. Don't unite for anything but Love.
Human and monkey gonna make out in the end.
Planet of the Apes is one of those movie ideas that sounds stupid/silly on paper but can be an unparalleled experience in practice
It never sounded stupid or silly. Astronauts time warp to the future and find evolved apes... That's awesome sci-fi. Now, they have made some really bad movies out of the concept. Mark Wahlberg's in 2001 was awful. They made like 10 sequels to the original too, most of which were trash. But the concept has always been a good one.
Ummm…it’s an amazing concept that doesn’t sound stupid or silly! Good gravy, it seems as if YOU’RE the one who’s stupid, or at least lacking imagination. I pity you.
I really enjoyed the book when Ive read it so many years ago. This franchise took it to another level, so good

"Apes and humans lived side by side" is putting it very very generously
Wondering what time they are referencing also..
Can’t be talking about the zoos, pretty insulting..
During the 300 year gap maybe they did for some period of time.
There are more time periods other than the modern era. Humans used to live in nature. Zoos and animal testing being commonplace is a very new thing.
Might be a reference to apes like Caesar and Koba . Those apes had to have left behind something like a ape bible
Maybe during the time when humans were still ape-like savages😅

It's here on CZcams. Nowadays, That is everywhere. People aren't going to the movie theaters where a new trailer would get hyp,ed up more. If you're paying for AD space, why waste it on television commercials not being seen by your target audiences. The Cesar saga was a very well done lone trilogy. If it's good it'll get traction. But anything coming out of Hollywood recently has been on a rapid decline from making quality stories. So we're on a "waiting to be seen until further notice." For the long lists of failings to make quality entertainment. It's sad, I grew up in the 90s, and movies were at their pinnacle, relevant groundbreaking. I'm 53 and was obsessed with the original franchise in the 70s as a kid. I'm glad I lived to see it be rebooted. These movies are amazing and it may be the best franchise ever created.
I just hope, we as fans, get to see the franchise come full circle and it ends (or starts a new trilogy) with a remake of the 1968 movie.
Please give us that!
I'm 67 I've seen them all. I have all the moves. I just learned about this today I can't wait
@@LennyMolnar-rs8df friend, there is a prequel trilogy that you need to watch before this one: Rise of the POA, Dawn of the POA and War for the POA. Chem them out.
But is it a reboot? Isn’t it a continuation of the prequels to the original from 1968?
Isn’t a reboot like a restart?
Greetings from Germany, I’m also looking forward to this movie ❤
Agreed. The real miracle would have the apes evolve into the 1968 version, no remake required.
@@LennyMolnar-rs8df i am 21 . I grew up with these movies. I recently saw the old ones . Masterpice of a franchise
After wstching this I rewatched the trilogy again. Now can't wait for may 10th!!
Can't wait to see this masterpiece ❤❤
A memory of seasor always will inside the heart 😢
0:59 The throne has Caesars Window symbol
Nice attention to detail! It's been so long since I've watched the movie I almost forgot what it looked like...
Was looking to see who else saw that. Like it's become a symbol of leadership over time
Wow. Didn’t even notice that 🔥🔥 good attention to detail
0:48 Caesar's window symbol is also on the rusted broken down ship outside. When all the Apes come walking on the sand.
That design seems to have become a universal symbol to apes now.
Like waves mean water or an X means point of interest to us, to apes that symbol might mean a concept such as leadership or knowledge.
Other studios could learn from this CGI. Super ready for this movie
It’s cause this film isn’t rushed like most garbage blockbuster films nowadays
still not better than the Matt reeves trilogy.
@@jordanrivera8174how can anything be better than the original please don’t be naive and just appreciate them keeping the franchise alive fr
@@jordanrivera8174 wtf,is better.
name the CGI you hate and more than likely the same studio has worked on it. Maybe it's the Direction that was bad? Because it's the same artists making the pixels.
Just watched all three to catch up and I’m hyped for this great trilogy
This movie looks amazing. Im a huge fan of the Planet of the Apes reboot series and my favorite one so far is Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Set generations after the original movies, new ape leaders and characters, and the humans regressing to a feral state, this may be the best reboot movie of them yet. It's crazy to me seeing the apes hunting the feral woman at 1:46 in the grass field
It feels surreal seeing this world that Caesar and the human civilization left behind. This is something new
"This is something else!"
Incredible. Respect to the OGs Ceasar n Koba.
koba not ape
koba weak
@@omuhgordowas still an amazingly written character even if he was a villain, Caesar grew up with love from humans, Koba was abused in a cage his entire life
@@notmeee496 yes
im just quoting caesar
@@omuhgordoI understood lol
Planet of the apes is such an awesome franchise! Happy to keep them going👏👏
This movie, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, are the only two movies I've been eagerly anticipating in close to a decade. You just can't go wrong with apes.
The Caesar trilogy was so underrated. I hope this brings more people into the franchise. Apes together strong!
Yeah it was so "underrated" that it's still getting sequels. What a clown.
Which caesar trilogy do you refer to?
@@OilFreeFeathersI sure don’t hear people ever mention it often that’s all I’m saying. Most people I talk to have never seen them.
@@vuxsux305Rise, Dawn, and War. They came out during a time when the MCU ruled the box office. The films were slept on by many but were good enough to perform admirably.
People are slowly, but surely forgetting the definition of "underrated".
The new Planet of the Apes franchise is consistently pumping out amazing movies.
From the first trilogy to this, I've been excited for every movie and they haven't disappointed.
