Hi guys! Hope you're enjoying the video! It's been brought to my attention that the criteria to unlock Hunts might be a bit confusing in the video, so I wanted to clarify here:
You need to beat all 3 stories: Master of Wealth/Power/Fame COMPLETELY, as well as an Epilogue chapter in Rippletide, before you can proceed into the Master of All storyline in Cragspear and unlock Hunts. Sorry for the confusion!

You have to finish the entire stories; which means taking on Herminia, Tytos, and Auguste themselves!

Is chapter 3 the last chapter for the stories ? Or does it continue after later updates ?
I started on the Master of Power route and found my first miniboss/elite enemy in the cavern/laboratory. I fought the elite enemy, some massive Ice monster, thinking it wouldnt be too bad. And although I beat it on the first try, it took like 30mins with massively underlevelled team 😂💀 strategy fr
and the funniest thing is that when you're in the master of all chapter you can beat them in one atacck lol
Finished rerolling after a full day and settled with 2 Lynette and 1 4.5 Viola. After playing the game I'm surprised how good it is for a mobile game. Very excited to see other content.
@ShizukatzCotC just wanted to say, unrelated to the actual octopath content, your scriptwriting and delivery on these videos are so clear! So many youtube guidemakers just treat their videos like a stream and spout off advice from the top of their heads but you seem to really write your explanations and they are as clear, direct, and concise as they could be I think. Just excellent communication skill.
Excellent timing! Was just wondering about this. Looking at your jp account, it seems you just breeze through things including the interactions with towns-people. Suppose once you're at end game it's "log in to do dailies until the next event".
one of the best guides for octopath cotc, you really know what you are talking about and you explain everything and put the information o screen in a way that everyone can easily understand everything LOL, really waiting for the next videos

They're some of the highest quality and most useful videos I've seen for a game like this (and Octopath CotC seems to have a lot of nuance that I would have missed out on going in blind), so I really appreciate all the work you're doing for the community. I finally got to play this game after 3 days of rerolling for both Lynette and Viola. Dmn excited for it~!
The go to guy for COTC. I decided to stop rerolling now with 5 star, Viola, Millard, Fiore and 4.5 heatcote. The best team i had on my more or less 20 times rerolling. Love the game i was amazed how great the devs are. Its not a typical gacha grabber it got its own depth and great storyline.
You can also do path actions on the NPC's that join in the nameless town for more resources
Hey, your guides are amazingly useful, I'm completely new to the game, I haven't playe the original Octopath Traveler (yet) either.
Would you recommend starting by rushing through the main storylines, or do all Traveler/Side Quests as you find them?
Also is there anything to do with old/duplicate weapons and armor?
Traveler Stories will pretty much always be there, so imo those are pretty low priority (I'm a bit of a slacker on those myself tbh). You will probably want to read them on characters you're actively using though, as they give 60 Guidestones, which can be used to uncap your character's Level by 3.
In terms of Sidequests, Nameless Town in particular can be quite important to finish as they contribute to your daily resource income. Outside of that, you're pretty much set to hit the story mode.

Leveling I think is going to be fairly manageable to be completely honest, especially once more of the playerbase starts to unlock Hunts, as those are a pretty big source of daily EXP.
I do think that a video on Awakening is potentially on the table tho!
Hi Shizuka, I'm wondering if it's worth to burn your silver and bronze guidestone to get some shards? I mean only the guidestones from characters that you don't wanna use or probably most of the 3* anyway. I think this is very useful to get the items for a 4.5 to 5 promotion... Or is it better to just keep the guidestones? Asking because I'm not sure which version of the guidestone to hoard (shard or normal), or probably just keep both? Thanks in advance for your answer, best cotc content out there btw! keep going

Have you considered doing a video about team building ? I'm doing just fine in the valley of death at this moment but my camilla is absolutely worthless tbh, can I take her out for a mage using an element I don't have on my team or do I need the 8 weapons in my party

In the memory shard segment, you mentioned they'll eventually be usable for "Single Roll Tokens." What are those? The Seals that let you guide?
Yea, I believe in EN they're called Sacred Guidance Seals or something along those lines.
I love the game so far. Can't wait for the next banner :3. It took me a hole 3 days to get what I wanted. q.q Lynette an Viola avoided me to no end. But I got them both an a Theo. I did a second summon an got Miliard an another Theo 4.5. :3
Thanks for the video! Question: Unlocking Hunts requires completing the ENTIRE storyline for all three factions?? That seems pretty brutal. What's the recommended level for that?
the last boss is lvl 30, I managed to beat it earlier today with my team between 27-30 but its actually quite tough and hits hard, voila's anti attack -20% allowed me to tank the hits
I saw when you when to the smithy there were three symbols. One for weapons, one for amour, and an anvil. I only have weapons and amour. How do you unlock the anvil and what does it do? Thanks again for the videos you are releasing.
The anvil is for Improving Weapons, which will be added in a future update. It's a very simple system; only certain weapons can be improved, and while it does increase the grind a bit, the end result will have you feeling extremely powerful :)
There's actually weapons available from memory stones already, any idea if they're worth it? I think they were only level 30ish

Have you already done content about equipment? Iam not exactly sure where do get that besides from the shops
Weapons and Armor basically all come from the shop! If you feel that your available options aren't up-to-date, try killing some of the monsters from the most recent high-level areas you've visited. The loot varies by area, and as a result, so does the available equipment.
did you ever make a guide on the exchange? i cant find it
I dont know if anyone else is having the same issue but, for some reason I can never load the ads for the Find caits stuff. Its never worked for me once :( Other than that, awesome work on the vid and information!
Where is the nameless town theopolis member? I can't find the third town joiner anywhere.
There are many things like the meter charge in the battle or menu options that arent in the english version, are those time locked or progress locked?
A lot of things just aren't implemented into the game yet, so I guess "time-locked".
Are you still planning on going over exchange. It's the only thing I feel like I don't quite get.
Currently had no plans to, but may end up doing something on the exchange at a later date.
Should I be saving awakening stones for the special abilities that aren't out yet or are they tied to actual awakening levels of the characters?
Feel free to just Awaken any characters now BESIDES Lynette.
For like 99% of the cast, Specials being Lv10 is not important, and Lv9 (the highest you can get without using an Awakening Stone) is more than good enough. Lynette is one of the few exceptions.

The first two Caits are shown in the locations in the video. If you pause the video, it opens the map for a sec to see where they are. All of the caits are in the areas right outside the 3 towns. Nameless Town quest is started by talking to Nephti in Theatropolis after completing Master of Fame Ch.1. From there, she'll take you to the Nameless Town and you can Fast Travel there afterwards.
For now you have access to the first three towns: Theatropolis for Master of Fame, Emberglow for Power, and Valore for Wealth. After you complete all three of these storylines, it opens up more areas with new towns.

I have a question, how and where can you get awakening stone? The beginner guide provided in game is not helpful at all
Ad-Cait makes the early game way easy, will it level up with progress? If they do, will it hurt the game when fat cait give more exp per day than the hunts?
I doubt it. More EXP can never be a bad thing; it just streamlines the experience for the playerbase overall! (Except maybe for the ads, but necessary evil I suppose haha)
You list the amount of gems you get from logins and dailies, is there a good estimate to how many gems to expect each month in total (aka from all sources)? Also, thanks for these beginner videos, they've been helpful.
It's a bit hard to pin down an exact number because people will clear content and achievements at different speeds. Additionally, there aren't Events like in other games that will yield an average number of rubies per month.
@@ShizukatzCotC Ok, thanks. I'm was also curious because I just hit 600 gems and I was hoping to get enough to pity Tressa before her banner ends. Maybe it would be better to just save for whoever comes after.
I do really like how this game feels like a regular rpg that happens to have a gacha, instead of being a gacha game that acts like an rpg.
@@fordexyzable1597 To be able to pity the banner you need 200 (Tressa) Fragments and you get 1 Fragment per pull or 10 per 300 rubies. In total it would take 6000 rubies to pity that banner...just an FYI. If you go to the exchange for the banner you can see the cost for "Tressa's Sacred Seal" that is the item that allows you to pity the banner.
will you do a video explaining limit break? I pulled two 5star lynette, should i use the items i got from the dupe right away or wait for something upcoming ive heared about? what is that anyways
Are you referring to increasing the Level Cap - because that is referred to as "Limit Break" in the EN version.
In the JP Community, some people refer to the "Special Moves" as Limit Breaks as a callback to games like FF7. Just want to ask to make sure I give the right answer :)

I think I mean the latter actually. As far as I know I don't need to pull dupes to increase the level cap, so it must be the special move thing?

Just need to make sure because pulling a Dupe Lynette gives Guidestones for increasing Level Cap as well xD
Special Moves will not be introduced into the game for quite a while. That being said, Lynette gets such a substantial boost by using 1 Awakening Stone to buff her Special Move to its maximum level that it's worth saving her Awakening Stone (and SPECIFICALLY her's) in order to do that eventually, rather than Awaken her.
If you pull ANOTHER Lynette dupe though, feel free to use that one for Awakening!
You mentioned (in the text on screen) that we can buy 3 single pulls per month for memory fragments. I don't see it in the Exchange. Do I need to meet certain criteria for those to unlock for me?
I think it might just take some time (a few major updates perhaps) before they start adding it to the Exchange. Eventually they should start showing up there tho!
Also for future reference, they cost 300 Memory Fragments apiece, so stock up :)

4:10 I think you meant to say 60 bronze shards to 1 silver guide stone, right? at least that is what you show on screen.

How long on average can we pity a unit after the early game gems? Seems pretty brutal.
My first 6k rubies I accumulated after 3 months of play on JP, and I'd say you probably average another 6k every 4 months or so afterwards.
Does the find elite monster count for elite hunting daily ?
I actually don't know! I'll try to find out and get back to you with answer to that :)
Is there maybe a area in the game that is good for exp farm for your units?
Once you unlock Hunts, they become a pretty large source of daily EXP!
Wait the 10 rubies per day thing is permenant? I thought it was only for the first few days after launch
I just saw in the video that you can exchange memory fragments for 3 single pulls. Global doesn’t have this, and i’m curious if this was something added later for JP? Can we expect it some day?

In JP how many do you get a month for memory fragments?
Prob around 80-90 a day I think?

That's actually a thing that they added to JP further down the line. I'd imagine it'll be the same for EN at some point.

Yes.
Is there content after you finish the story?
If by "the story" you mean the Master of Wealth/Power/Fame storylines, then yes, there is additional story after those :)

Hey i just play the game a few minute ago,i want to ask when i pull the 1st chara i got the aphoteker,and when told to summon the 2nd time on the salon i get the 3 star is that unlucky or everyone get the same result??
The part where you get 3 3* units (Nanna, Jose, and Conny) is guaranteed, everyone gets them.

I assume you mean the Blue item (Traveler's Sacred Seal)? If so, you can use that to roll for more characters. I'd recommend using it now to get more units and make your roster stronger :)

Memory fragments can buy guidestones? How?
They might not be in the exchange for EN yet. There's gold and silver guidestones in exchange that have a weekly limit.
Should we be saving rubies now or waiting? Have Viola and Helga, but no other 5*….
Having a lot of 5*s honestly isn't needed; it would be NICE to have another especially given that one of them is guaranteed but definitely not necessary for progression.
What I WOULD want to look for in your account tho is how your healing lineup looks; do you have a character like Ramona, Menno, Cedric, or Meena that can supply healing. Additionally, a tank like Devin can help take the pressure off your team as well.

This is what we call a "We Take Those" :)
how do you unlock more reward slots for hunts?
It's based on the Influence of the team you bring. Every Hunt has 1 Influence associated with that, and if the party's total in that influence is 300 or more, you'll get an extra rewards. If they're 500 or more, you'll get the third.

How i unlock hunt?
I defeat 2/3 bosses...
To unlock Hunts, you have to complete all three stories entirely, then finish the epilogue in Rippletide, and proceed to Cragspear for Master of All Chapter 1. Sorry I didn't make that totally clear in the video!

Just downloaded the game and got sofia as my first , should i keep her or reroll?
Depends on what you priorities are.
If you want to get right into playing, having just Sofia as your only 5* is fine as long as she's surrounded by some decent other characters (and as always, you'd like to have a healer of some sort).

how do you unlock hunts?
Hunts are unlocked in Cragspear (the 5th city).
To get there, you have to finish ALL chapters of the first three stories, then an epilogue in the 4th city. After completing the epilogue, head to Cragspear and talk to the NPC at the Inn.

The Special Abilities probably won't be added to the game for several months, I imagine. In JP, they came out around 1st Anniversary.
@@ShizukatzCotC damn that's a long time xD how does the process of unlocking the special ability look like? do you some special quest? or is it auto unlocked at like lvl 100?
If you look at your Nameless Town, you'll notice in the Top Left Corner on the town there's a Tower. That Tower will eventually be used for a series of increasingly difficult trials that will be resources used for unlocking Specials.
Prior to that though, the tower is used to house Symbol Enemies, so it's important not to get those two mixed up!

The amount of rubies that you get from achievements is a lot more than you think! A lot of small achievements add up very quickly! Additionally, you can get more rubies by increasing your influence levels, reading traveler stories, and playing main story - clearing story chapters in particular give quite a chunk of rubies.

I definitely think expecting to be able to spark Tressa when she came out this early is a bit of a reach. IMO If you really want her, it's best to just try to reroll for her, and then go from there.
For perspective on how long it took me to reach my first spark (6k rubies) on JP, it took me exactly 3 months. Considering this is with the high influx of rubies due to things like novice missions and whatnot, I'd say this is about as fast as you can expect to collect 6k. After that, I'd estimate probably closer to like 4 months per spark.

Many of the characters' Traveler Stories take place in cities that are only unlocked once you have cleared ALL of the Master of Wealth/Power/Fame stories! Those stories only take place in 3 of the 8 cities available on-release, so you have a lot to still look forward to!
Lvling guide pls
The Caits ? Or Nuts thats it no leveling guide needed
There are level 1 Caits or level 15 and 30, if you defeat level 30 you get 10.000 exp, level 1 is only 1000 exp
So you need to find them dailey and defeat them and on top of that if you are lucky with the 3 ads to fight 3 caits and there are all level 30 you get good amount of exp buts its random i think
