This doesn't always start you in the same spot when you keep replaying.
So instead when it starts you where player 2 is get the 4 coins in the middle by going in a circle like you did inside then head through the door or whatever it is on the lower floor.
Then circle around the 6 coins like you did to start when starting inside and then hit player 2 and your done.

A part of this has changed since the most recent update- the blue team doesn't always start inside the building anymore, unfortunately. Takes a bit longer when you start outside.

My favorite way to grind for coins isn't the most efficient, but I like to do 200cc at Baby Park over and over again, you probably won't get 10 coins every time unless you turn off items, but it's sure fun as hell

I did the math and with this method you will have to do about 93 minutes of grinding.
It takes 20 seconds after the match start... but the actual time between the start of the first match and the start of the second match was about 60 seconds (loading times, time spent in menu, match start+end time, etc). So you're actually getting about 10 coins per minute, not every 20 seconds.

That means you can get the Gold Glider (5,000 Coins) in 100 minutes, or approximately 1.67 hours (according to some quick math I did). Nice job GameXplain and everyone who suggested it to them!

In my opinion Coin Runners can still work out fine unless the player doesn't care about doing 2players then the next big thing to do is have 4 players grab all the coins for 40 coins per match. This method can well if you have multiple players.
You can do coin runners and have one other player (or if you’re playing with your friends 3)-same round, when you do time set it to 5 and rounds 46 and the. When times is out the first player’s Coins count so if you get like 41 coins that adds up in your coin total amount, it’s time comisimg but it works still

When you farm about 100 coins, do you have to exit the mode so you can get the car peice then go back into the mode? or can you have more than one car peice waiting for you?
so no matter what I do, I cant consistently start in the temple. is it just random or am I ACTUALLY doing something wrong? I've tried changing the teams, the karts, the characters, everything, and it's NEVER consistent, even between rounds it'll change

I have collected the 10,000 coins in MK8 two weeks ago and this again would be stupid to me but with this trick it becomes much easier and there are still many Wii U owners to benefit

@GameXplain you might want to show how many coins you had prior to doing this trick since all you have is the coin total for after doing it thus we dont know how many coins for sure were added & if the piranha plant really does make you lose a few coins or not.
I was just gonna sit on the coin pads on Mute City. I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure if you leave, it keeps the coins you earn in a race.

Put more time in driving mechanics and do a video about how fast is the drifting boost compare to WiiU. It will Xplain more of things that really matters and make you a better player at the same time. Two coins in one ;)

I actually have a method where you get 1 coin every second or 2, and it can go on for around ten minutes, I think. It’s hard but, I might make a video on it
I'm probably not going to use this method but it's nice to know it exists I guess.

faster method:
To easily farm coins, complete the following steps. This exploit also requires two Joy-Cons (two single ones are fine). Select Multiplayer mode, and choose two players. Select "VS Race". Select Lemmy as the first player and Larry as the second player. Set Lemmy's kart as the "Streetle" with "Standard" tires and "Parafoil" as the glider. Set Larry's kart as the "Cat Cruiser" with "Sponge" tires and "Parafoil" as the glider. (If you have more controllers, just select other combinations and itll work fine) While setting up both karts, press + or - on each controller to change the settings. Set "Auto Steering" to "On", "Control" to "Joystick" (motion control will not work), and "Auto Accelerate" to "On". At the race settings screen, select "200cc Race" and set "Teams" to "No Teams", "Items" to "No Items", "COM" to "No COM", "COM Vehicles" to "All Vehicles", "Courses" to "Choose", and "Race Count" to "48 Races" (number can change, but 48 is recommended if you will be coin farming for an hour or two). Go to the Egg Cup and choose Mute City as the track. Select the "OK" prompt when it appears. Then, simply set both controllers down and let the game play for an hour or two. Each race takes approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds -- so you can complete a cup about every 10 minutes.
how is this faster if u get 10 coins in 2.5 minutes and this one in 20 seconds? small brain
I have been trying to do this and I keep maxing out for my coin gain per set of 24 rounds is 30 coins which is when I unlock a new car part. Is there a reason for this?
I did 24 rounds unlock 90 coin car part then another 24 rounds and then I got 120 coin car part.

Turn your contrast down. The loading screen shouldn't be white, there's artwork in the background.
I hope the next Mario kart drops the coin mechanic has an actual unlock system like in Wii to to get all of the cars.
So I did the math if you actually do it in 20 seconds each time and also include time starting the game each time it will take about 25 minutes to get the golden glider that is not bad at all

Equiping 3 red shells increases your hit box and makes it easier to collect coins

There's a way that takes a bit longer, but requires no work. Go to VS race, put it in 200cc, set it to 48 tracks, turn on smart steering, and auto-accelerate, leave the Switch alone. One race is about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and four races are about 10 minutes. Within 1.5 - 2 hours you'll have enough coins.

Do the golden kart parts unlock the same way as before? 10,000 coins for the glider, beat all the 150cc ghosts on time trial for the golden tires and at least one star in all mirror cups? Do you know what you get when you beat all 200cc ghosts?

The way i farm coins (which doesn’t really work) is doing the same thing but coin runner
Its cool that you enjoy the game but, you only have to collect 5000 coins to aquire everything coin related.
And that's not really a lot, considering that there's 4 difficulties with 12 cups each AND every track has a ghost that has to be beaten to complete the game.
So collecting coins outside of those activities is sort of a waste, since those have to be done anyway, you'll collect a lot of coins in the process of beating them anyway, and any coin collected beyond the 5000 mark is sort of useless.
Doesn't work anymore unfortunately.
Edit: Okay now it's working? Before it used to force P1 to be in the other room, regardless of what team they were in. Then it started switching every round? And now it's the correct room? Idk lol

That's really cool, but then again, this game keeps track of the amount of coins you picked in a Grand Prix even if you quit.
So I'd recommend to do this only* if you already reached 3-Stars on all cups AND cleared all the time trials.
Otherwise, you'll just farm for coins that could've been collected while completing the rest of the game anyway.

And after I had used the previous method to already grind up to 3100 coins to obtain all kart parts, save for the golden ones.
Granted I already had about 2500 but still.
