Atheist and Pestilence were my first extreme metal bands and than Obituary, Death etc.,that was 30 years ago and still like those bands and it is great that people are still pushing forward great music from this era which have more value over this so called modern metal👍🏻
That album made my late childhood so great back in mid 90s when i got it. Testimony of the Ancients will always kick countless amount of asses. And so will Pestilence 🤘🏻🔥

Finally Pestilence have live proshot! I was looking them in Estonia at Hard Rock Laager festival and couldn't believe, that they play Testimony of the Ancients album 🤩
Got to see Pestilence live with Carcass and Death in 90 when Van Drunan was still in the band.Best concert I've ever been too.Consuming Impulse to me is the perfect death metal album all time.

I would never ever understand the why this band got hated so much, atleast at the time back on FB I saw a lot of idiots hating on it, why? This band is legendary.
One of the best bands of the 90's that still put out great albums,also you can tell by the lyrics Mameli is deep into secret knowledge,love you guys.
I believe the lyrics were written by Marco Foddis, Pestilence's drummer at the time, though.

I've been a huge fan of Pestilence since their first Lp ... Should have seen them supporting Death on their HUMAN tour over here in the UK back in the day but sadly Pestilence didn't end up playing..Carcass replaced them ,no bad thing but not as good as Pestilence ...stay brutal

Great band, strong line up, but the HD recording brings out many playing errors. One guitar is noisy as fuck, constant ringing of open strings. This is not a mixing issue. Patrick needs to teach this dude how to palm mute his strings. The younger guys who grew up with Slipknot have never learned to do it properly. And many of the licks are just played wrong and sloppy. My favorite song is Stigmatized, they butchered every single lick. No problems with vocals, drums and bass, they sound great IMHO.

@@Kendoci how can you tell? I'm watching the break at the beginning of Land of Tears when the young dude didn't properly palm mute. But I'm also assuming it has to be the player who hasn't been playing these songs for 30+ years and can do it in their sleep. I might be wrong.
I think it really is Patrick most of the times. I love Pestilence, but this wasn't their best day. But I guess it happens... he's not 20-something anymore.
Mameli is the one playing bad. It's very, VERY obvious. He's extremely sloppy here. I'm really surprised... in a bad way.
This could have been a monument to the bands legacy. Now the best recording of Pestilence is still officially the 1992 Eindhoven soundboard recording.

Really not a fan of triggers on bass drums .sounds awfull
It's not the "triggers." Triggers don't make a sound. They are the sensors that pick up the vibration. The problem is the sample that's being used. It's thin sounding, and the pitch is too high.
Triggers sound SO much better than mic'd kick drums, but only if a good sample is used. Some modules have great samples, and you can equalize them and make them fuller sounding by adding low end and dropping the pitch. You can completely customize your own sound. Some drummers record the real sound of their bass drums, and they use that as their sample. I'm not sure how aware you are, but roughly 95% of all drummers in Thrash, Speed Metal, Death Metal, Black Metal, and Grindcore use triggers. Around 70% of all metal drummers use triggers.
I'm going to have to say that this drummer didn't adjust any EQ on his module to compensate for playing outdoors. When playing outdoors, it's much more difficult to get get mixes/sounds because there's nothing for sound to bounce off of. If you use the mix that you use indoors, it will end up sounding really bad outdoors.
Everything I stated is 100% from experience. I've played hundreds of concerts sharing the stage (either opening, sometimes headlining) with bands like Deicide, Obituary, Gorguts, Kataklysm, Nile, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Origin, Cryptopsy, Cannibal Corpse, etc, etc, etc, etc. I mic'd my kick drums from 1995 to 2005. I started triggering from then on and I will NEVER go back to mic'd kick drums ever again.
Well why not just have bo triggers and let the bass drum shine through instead
