- Carcass are a British extreme metal band from Liverpool, England. Carcass are regarded as pioneers of the grindcore genre. They also became one of the pioneers of melodic death metal with their 1993 album Heartwork. This is Carcass performing 'This Mortal Coil' from their album Heartwork and "Reek of Putrefaction" from the 1989 album, Symphonies of Sickness. A Carcass concert with good recording quality? Is this a dream? Really enjoyed watching this, please upload the rest of the concert.
Hahaha,I was thinking the same! Too many years waiting for this!
I think the same hahaha
Good sound quality indeed, but bogus video editing, 6:40 for example xD
ReZi Thats what I said. Excellent quality.
Bill's D string seems to be out of tune, though.
Jeff and Bill singing at the same time is one of the best things to witness in death/grind
I witnessed!
Well, they created the genre!
From left to right, we see a Les Paul evolve into an Explorer
HA!!! Yes, man. That's priceless.
Good one
The most underrated comment
And it`s an OG Gibson Old School Explorer...cudos !!!!
These guys are real pros. The whole band is tight as fuck. Very talented musicians. Cool to see heavy metal is alive and well in India.
Bill Steer really is an unsung hero in metal. Dude writes some amazing riffs
the "galloping" Beat n riff is so ultra brutal
Yes yes I concurr... Makes Maiden sound Amatuer
This mortal coil is one of the greatest metal tunes ever. So many great riffs.
I remembering going straight to learn it when I was little and I played guitar
Verae correct
"Reek of putrefaction" is 1,000 times better
Bill Steer is the Randy Rhoads of death metal. The last album is fantastic as is the rest of the discography. Stellar original songwriting. Great grooves, solos, arrangements, tone etc. It's all in there.
Plus he is underrated death metal vocalist. His vocals are scary ngl.
Randy Rhoads of death metal... damn perfect description
Fuck can't get over how tight these guys are. Great fucking musicianship
Symphonies of sickness is one of the best Death/Grind albums ever created. So great to hear Bill doing his vomit parts! Hail Carcass, the real rotten one!
This is maybe the best sounding live by carcass ever.
Check in Brutal Assault. :)
that in India 😮
CARCASS GOD FATHER OF GORE GRIND
Reek of Putrefaction: 4:04
mvp, cheers!!!
Their best
no reason to listen to anything after Heartwork
@@Ravnkel ooF. Why the restriction? Isn't it tiring to be an elitist?
Classic!!!!
Maybe the best piece of audio engineering I've seen on YT.. well done
Dan Wilding is such a talented drummer.
AND HE MAKES IT LOOK SOOO EASY!
He is, but where is the double bass drum kit????
He's a right lovely bloke too.
Yes, he is awesome! Great tempo and such power drumming
I’ve got one of his drum sticks.
Just saw Carcass Live opening for Amon Amarth. They were EPIC. I’m gonna be honest I had no clue who they were but now I can’t get enough of them 🔥🔥
Same here, saw them on that tour in ATL.. Carcass was incredible live... Those guys do not fuck around 🤘
Drummer is a blast bea(s)t!
Agreed, he's taken the place of Ken Owen very well and he knows it.
This lil old band is so tight, just unbelievable dynamics
Yes it is refreshing, I ran out of metal to listen to. The drummer plays sort of like Nicholas Barker.
so cool to see they still play songs from their grindcore days, just a few is more than enough, awesome video.
grind core days are you nuts its melodeath
Brian Kyllo - This Mortal Coil is melodeath but the song Reek of Putrefaction is from Symphonies of Sickness which is when they still played pure deathgrind. So if they play any songs from their 1st 2 albums, it's not wrong to say they're playing grindcore.
Except for the fact that Carcass never actually liked the term nor called themself "Grindcore". They liked the term experimental alot more. Fun fact, they kind of dislike the very first album.
Carcass' first two albums and the inspiration for goregrind
@Curly Que Do not agree. I would also term them goregrind especially of Bill Ward's vocals on the first two albums and song structure
Bill Steer is one of the most underrated guitarists that I've had the pleasure of listening to in the last 35 years. Perhaps it's just me but he doesn't seem to age?
Holy fuck. The sound quality is outstanding. Great stuff
I was there in Bombay/Mumbai . What a stellar live performance it was !
this mortal coil makes me so uncontrollably happy
its been my absolute favorite song since i first heard it over 2 years ago
What fucking awesome quality and also with This Mortal Coil one of my favourite songs!!
One of the best live guitar tones I've ever heard. How is there only two songs. Is there seriously any more?
C Brown I whole heartedly agree 👍🏽
If are good and short two times well.
I NEED to see them live again, it has been 13 years. Steer is such an underrated powerhouse
This Mortal Coil has to be one one of the most instrumentally fantastic metal songs out there. Drum track is killer
finally a deserved PRECISE drummer ❤️
Release their whole gig of Mumbai. I was there and waited and waited till I saw them to never be the same. What a night and what stories! Thanks, Carcass.
Thanks so much for this!
Respect for that SSS shirt. Scouse love being shared
Bill Steer really need to growl some more. So sad his vocals was not louder on this recording

I am a very enthusiastic metal worker- or I used to be before I had children. I did swords, axes, crossbows, halberds and all you can imagine... Spears, mazes... 😔😢 And how cool it was, when I saw the Heartwork video from Carcass🏆🇫🇮
One of the greatest bands from metal!
Thanks to this good sound quality you can even more appreciate how Carcass really kick your ass. They are the B-E-S-T
