F*n' badass album! I didn't know who they were or what I was getting into as a teen when I took a gamble and bought this on cassette! Still have it! Classic
Raw,brutal and superb-heavy stuff.
Martin Van Drunen malignant vocals and overall sick aura makes this album the real masterpiece.

Yeah, Martin was a-ma-zing. I like Patrick's vocals too, but that's not the same.

This album and Obituary's Cause of death were the first death metal albums I heard and they totally blew my ass. The year was 1990. Those were wonderful times🤘. Since then I love death metal👍🎸

Coming off a death thrash album like Malleus Maleficarum, I can only imagine how blown away fans were when they heard this monstrous pure death metal follow up.

@@Cenot4ph No that's just the truth. The first album is thrash metal, this album is death metal. It has heavier production, detuned guitars, and more guttural vocals, making it a heavier album. Martin Van Drunen himself has even said this album was heavier than their debut. End of story.

Most overlooked dm band of the generation and imo the best. This album beats harmony corruption, spirituAl healing, necroticism dti, 1st deicide, cause of death, altars of madness, you name it. Tho allclassics that I love

Well, thanks for the most- agreement and respect your opinion re obituary and since I love them as well I wouldn't argue , I just obviously hold Pestilence and esp. Cons. Imp. On the highest level. I think they have the best riffs of all and love thier sound the best. I do prefer J.Tardys vocals to van drunen , if tardy could've done vocals on consuming impulse,. Oh man
@@bttmfrezzo I actually disagree, I think these guys are better than Obituary (still love Obituary) but Death is definitely better than both of them, in my opinion of course.
Decap's Nihility is similar to Pestilence's stuff imo.
I thought the one I'd get the most shit for was carcass- n,dti, that's one I wasn't sure I even believed but shock value to emphasize my point how much I liked consuming impulse. I may have carried away in the moment because I can't say I think it's better than necrotisicm
