I did this in the 1970s and I used raffia placemats for the summer clutch! You have definitely upgraded my idea with a closure! Great job ;-)

What do you think is better to use a magnet for that type of clutch or a button...?

It’s an either or personal choice buttons would be very cute...... I also use raffia placemats and bamboo placemats to make most interesting clutch purses.....The sky is the limit when you DIY

There is no fabric name it is a placemat;;;)But I’m sure you could purchase fabric and do all the work of The hem edge treatment and yourself I think I’m just going to stick with the placemats
