I think this is great everyone is willing to share their talents. We all have special gifts and I am so grateful everyone is taking the opportunity to share their knowledge. Thank you so much. I just can't wait to make this.
Clara is so vibrant, exciting, full of life and fun to watch. Way to keep the enthusiasm up! Excellent tutorial 😀
The hidden stitches you did for the sides were amazing and shows the finish one can get that the sewing machine cannot accomplish. Thank you.
I love love love this tutorial. This is truly amazing. I am now going to be making my own clutch purses.
This is fantastic! I started this project this evening. My husband is a tailor, so I thought I would show him a few tricks of my own! GREAT instructions!

Is it safe to use magnet closure with electronics?
Wow, roots
I need this for the bigger iPad Pro size. Do you have that pattern?
+Sheareen Tan I wasn't able to reply directly to your comment, so I hope you get this! The final dimensions are 8" x 11.5". Yes, you should be able to add inches and modify the curve of the flap. Just make sure to add plenty to account for the thickness of the laptop as well. Let me know if you have any other questions!
+OnlineFabricStore.net Thanks so much! :D
Cooool
Does anybody knows what's the name of interfacing in spanish?? I dont know how to call it to buy some in Chile
fantastic! do you think that if I sewing with the sew machine will be ok? will have the same result? do you have another types of bags or hand bag?
thank you!
+Rosa Pacheco Yes, you can sew with a machine instead of hand stitching. There's two options. You can sew the sides with the bag folded so the outside fabric is on the outside (as in the video). You will be able to see the stitches in this option, and a bit of the lining will show on the edges. Or you can sew it with the lining fabric facing out and then turn it right side out after sewing. The only reason I didn't do it this way was because the fabric was too thick, but if you're using different fabrics, this might work.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏
what kind of interfacing did you use what nr.? Pellon heavy weight interfacing ...but what nr?
+Picos Georgiana It's #71 Peltex I Ultra Firm Fusible Stabilizer - Single Sided: www.onlinefabricstore.net/pellon-no-71f-peltex-i-ultra-firm-fusible-stabilizer-single-sided-.htm
Hi, I want to make this bigger to fit a laptop, what are the final dimensions of the clutch? Am I able to just add extra inches onto the pattern so that I can make it big enough for my laptop?
Sheareen Tan- add 3 inches to the width and length of your laptop measurements. Enlarge the pattern by cutting and extending it in the middle for width, then redrawing the flap. Don't forget to change the snap placements accordingly. Add additional length at the bottom of the pattern.
Hey, it looks amazing! How thick is the felt?
Thanks! The felt used here is 0.06 inches thick.
I wouldn't use magnetic snap as magnets can ruin your electronics. Otherwise great tutorial!
the interface that she used... is it a tougher materal or not? if not I'll skip it and just have the inner linings... also skip the zipper compartment to make it easier
The interfacing is a stiff material that makes the clutch keep its shape. You can definitely do it without, but it will be more floppy.
This is exquisite!..I would love to know where you got the patterns?...were they purchased or were they downloaded from the net or a site?
Nansa Harry Thanks! They are original patterns we created. We have the free download on our blog: www.onlinefabricstore.net/blog/diy-envelope-clutch-ipad-tablet-case-tutorial/
👌👌👌👌👌👌
Blessed Good Evening
What size paper to print out the pattern on when I download it?
Standard 8.5"x11" and remember to measure out the one inch box to make sure it is printing to scale
I have an industrial machine, do injust sew the sides together, instead of hand stitches?
If you don't mind seeing the stitching, sure.
I make little wallets the same way. the only machine that will sew the sides together is the janome hd1000 or 3000. it broke needles with other Machines.
Donna Chance , try using a machine needle for jeans- works great
Thank you for this tutorial. I printed the pattern however, I think I taped them incorrectly. Can you tell me the correct measurements for just the zipper compartment? That will tell me if I did the pattern correctly. Thank you
Dismiss my question. I have it right.
Perfect. Good luck!
does it work on leather too the interfacing i mean?
+Picos Georgiana The fusible interfacing requires too much heat for leather, but you can use the sew-in kind. Here's the sew-in equivalent to the interfacing used in the video: www.onlinefabricstore.net/pellon-no-70-peltex-ultra-firm-sew-in-stabilizer-white-.htm
I'm making this with pleather on the outside, and every time I try to do a hidden stitch, it rips the pleather. I've made 4 different bags and keep having this problem. I want to make it so the lining and pleather have clean seams so I sewed it with front sides facing together, but then can't seem to figure out how to close up the actual purse sides with the invisible stitch without ruining the entire bag bc it keeps ripping. Could someone give me any tips?
Hi Rachel, the only thing I can think of at the moment is putting a strip of the pleather over the edge, like bias tape, and hand stitching it in place. There is so much tension on the stitches when they are on the edges, so moving them to the front and back wouldn't pull at the fabric so much.
If anyone has any other suggestions, please chime in!
What are the final dimensions of this? I want to make it but I'm trying to figure out first if it would fit my MacBook.
The clutch is 11 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall
Very cute and easy. What's the finished measurements. I want to use this to hold letter sized paper for my letter writing. Thank you
It is about 7.5 x10." You could use the pattern to and add 1" (or however much you need) uniformly around the edges
@@onlinefabricstore Thank you for the tip. I will give a try and see!

I'm new to sewing so, just seeing if anything else will be needed apart from printing it and getting started. Thank you.
Please tell me you fixed that gap at 6:23 😂
Why did these instructions have us putting in the snap and then in the very next step you show the piece without the snap? So confusing.
why dont you give us the real size by numbers because i couldnt find those paterns you are using
thantks however every thing
