- Spanish Dance No. 1, performed by NUS Guitar Ensemble at Grande De Bal, held at University Cultural Centre, Singapore, on 25 March 2018.
Composed by Manuel de Falla
Arranged by Kazuyuki Terada
Alto Solo: Goh Zhi Yue
Castanets: Bernice Tan
From de Falla’s opera La Vida Breve comes the dance under the spurious title of Spanish Dance No. 1. The complete opera is seldom performed today, but the music for the energetic dance lives on and is popular in concerts featuring Spanish music. Arranged for the Niibori ensemble by Kazuyuki Terada, this fast paced rhythmic piece might just stir you to start dancing. - Hudba
