"Why don't we get started and take a look"
Missed opportunity to say "take a gander".
TheIrishninjas At least he took the opportunity to “Duck out” at the end.

TheIrishninjas that pun was goose-sume
Genius.
Also missed the opportunity for boundary beak

Hello everyducky, my name is Goosez and today we're gonna be taking the groundskeepers keys anywhere we want it.

I wanted to see what the goose looks like when he hides inside of the box that is carried by the delivery lady
Either the model disappears or does the same thing before coming out of the bush
if you want see the goose looks like when he hides inside the box Shesez twitter account has the pick.
Meanwhile I'm disappointed that if you put the radio in the box, it falls through when she picks up the box.
@@Keithustus same with any object
I rapid-pressed A and it looks like he just folds his little neck along his little back and crouches down into a white fluffy pillow
The water effect using the ring is super clever. I love seeing how little tricks to make a certain visual happen work.
If you develop games, you will notice stuff like garbage collectors crippling your game if you play for extended periods. So the best way to handle it is by not having it appear/disappear or destroyed. Even worse is generations, as in some vfx, if too much, it will cripple performance. So looping animations, position shifting or scaling 0 to 1 are some sneaky practices that save performance and headaches.
In my game cinematic, I get a guy shot by an arrow. The arrow is always on his back and scaled 0 but when called for, scales back to 1. ;)
@@philzan3627 interesting.. especially i am planning to study and create my own game in the future :D
I remember that effect also being used in Deus Ex, but it's really obvious its a ring because you can see the water slide back down below the water the fountain rather than just teleporting

Untitled Goose Game is both a meme and a legitimately good game
A goose game
A untitled goose game
What is it about?
@@PeterGriffin11 It's about bothering people as a goose.
@@PeterGriffin11 It's a very light mix of puzzle solving and stealth through a series of connected areas.

Shesez are you alright I think the goose game might be melting your brain.
Perhaps he had Christmas on his mind... :)
When you drop an object in the well, it comes out of a pipe in the canal, I was kinda hoping to see the process the games goes through to do that, especially after seeing that the pipe isn't actually connected to the well
You can actually sort of see what happens by using a glitch.
If you put a draggable object in the well while you're still holding it, the game will try to teleport the object directly to the well while you're still attached
Somehow I got the boy’s toy plane stuck in the well (I assume, it didn’t come out of the pipe)
It is discouraging that I have never noticed this
David Wiskind the same thing happened with me with the boys plane. Maybe there is something wrong with it
can't believe you ended this by saying, "duck out."
Goose would approve
That was a seriously fowl choice of words.
Better than "Goose out"
Shoulda said "I'mma take a gander over there" walk offscreen, and end the vid
Duck off
If this game came out 20 years ago, I would futilely try to find the real castle.
I think the model castle IS the real one
@@shalax7881 Since there's a mini-mini model town with the castle in, it would mean the real castle would be up the road from the model display, just based on the positions-
I was a little disappointed to see there's no castle, I spent forever trying to pile stuff to get past the gate by walking over it or glitching last it to see the castle
The castle might be a church. Maybe it's hidden somewhere.

bold of you to assume this game has a title
maybe thats why people think the earth is flat
their game system doesn’t support many polygons
a flat space to a sphere is ez
The name of the game is Untitled goose game btw
Two points that would of been nice to see:
1. What happens with the item the Goose is holding when walking through the house. (He looses it and then its thrown out after him so when does he lose it?!)
2. When the Goose picks up the bell all the fences, gates and NPC's change to their "last level" positions. Would of liked to see them all move/close at the same time lmao
Great video for a great game
"Would have liked..." since English does not include "would of".
I think the goose drops the item pretty much right away.
push the bell to a gate that closes then grab it
From what I've seen, the gates actually push things as they open, so if you put an item in front of it and grab the bell, the gates will push the item rather than just instantly snapping open
You know what’s funny, this genuinely looks like my local town, the style of buildings and everything.
Yeah, the game is heavily inspired by England's villages
Wait so there's a goose running around with the same checklist

Just finished playing this game last night, so this was good timing for me! My favorite was the goose's wings shrinking inside of it and the animation of them opening up. I couldn't even tell that the goose was missing them with the stylistic lack of shading!
Really disappointed that the castle doesn't even exist. :(
8:37 I recognize that artifact. It's what happens when you have a mirror and subdivision surface modifier on an object at the same time and try to apply them. It can be fixed by applying the sub modifier first then correcting the vertices before you apply the mirror.

@@eegleweege what one?
Noticed something regarding the outro in one of my playthroughs: I had locked the groundskeeper out of his garden while returning the bell and put his keys, hat and his radio outside the gates, in his sight, thus assserting my dominance. Normally, he'd just go out through the back and take the long route around the garden to retreive his items. However, the back door is always locked in the final section of the game as you're stealing the bell. So he couldn't get out.
After dumping the bell in your home pit, credits roll over and everyone in town is doing their normal daily stuff. That time, the groundskeeper was walking in the back path, with the radio in his hand, meaning he did indeed go out after the doors were unlocked and it wasn't a complete reset of the game environment.
Wow The Sims 1 music, feeling nostalgic
i read this comment few seconds before the music started playing
2:28 - That's because Unity is a purely 3D framework and can't do pure 2D, which is why sometimes/often 2D games will glitch out and/or go crazy.
Plus you can change the font of the text and so they don't have to store the paper twice.
nah, its just easier this way, since you can easily swap either the paper or the text, but unity is very well capable to make a single flat 2d object from different objects like a paper texture + text

Wasn’t Hollow Knight made in Unity? That’s a 2D game.
@@Hadaron If you check out the Hollow Knight Boundary Break episode, it turns out the game is actually 3D!
@J Dawg 25o: Not quiet! Quote from the Unity blog:
"The team built levels with 2D assets layered in a 3D environment using many of Unity’s out-of-the-box 2D features, including 2D Physics, Sprite Packer, and the Particle System with the help of the 2D Toolkit from the Asset Store."

I was hoping for a outbound video of that game. Thank you.
The reason I wanted to see such video is because of the miniature village, there's a castle. And I was wondering if that means there was a full modeled big castle somewhere?
Turns out, apparently not.
Same. I guess if there is an expansion DLC we'll get to go in, but I like the Kaiju feeling of taking the bell.
@@davidfinder291 the DLC only needs to be about $1.99 and could include the real castle ruins and local multiplayer :) and if you gather enough players you can steal the real bell for the ultimate chase sequence

Dang. I was hoping there would be a GIANT castle out of view, as the model city seems to indicate. Also, what if the whole game is just a metaphor for hitting the notification bell? 🤔
They should make an update that has the castle. Imagine the king goose looking down at the kingdom he conquered and honking mockingly down at the helpless townsfolk. He would ring the giant bell over and over and over several times in a row driving everyone insane with the nonstop loud noise.
even just having ruins would be cool. and would explain where that lady got that massive bell. almost feels like it's hinting at the fact a castle used to be by the village? maybe reading too much into it but it does fill out the world without actually creating more geometry.
I never knew the bell helped out but I just came across your channel recently and want to make sure as many people see this great content! Been binging every video over the last couple days
I like how UGG has the same kind of art style as Donut County, it's really aesthetically pleasing
What happens when an item is dropped in the well?
When it reaches the bottom, it is teleported to the storm drain into the river and will follow the water flow into the lake
When you drop items in the well, they come out of a pipe that lead to the river... record what happens to the items

I really love seeing behind the scenes. It really allows me to admire the work behind it. Keep up the work!!
It was really neat seeing all this stuff. I’d wondered if the devs ever built any of the full-sized church that is hinted at by the model village, but it looks like they were pretty efficient with what they put into the game.

If I could even remotely stand the notifications it generates, I'd have hit the bell, but I really can't, sorry
same here. though I think it registers even if you turn it right back off, as long as it is clicked once. another option is to disable all youtube system notifications. avoid the spam but still help out favorite creators. I feel ya I can't stand notifications for much more than texts and missed calls.
@@0v_x0 I wouldn't really mind if I could separate the bell notifications from the comment notifications, but with them combined it's confusing, and I only read the comment notifications once every few days when I actually feel up to replying to people (I get ill a lot). @@DissociatedWomenIncorporated oh yah, same I honestly wish the comment notifications even in the app could be turned off like for facebook threads. some threads have hundreds of comments and just spam unrelated replies, or sometimes you need to tell a plonker to swallow a potato and then block responses from the toxic and immature.

I really do love this channel's work. I wish more people appreciated things like this.
I flipping love this game. So glad you guys did this!
Should've been called "Boundary beak" 0/10
especially since a favorite glitch among speedrunners seems to be phasing through gates and fences by holding an object in their beak, sticking it through a gap, and I think they drop/catch real fast on the other side or just move at an angle and the whole body clips through, following the head. so there is a boundary break that uses the beak. 1/10 at least.
That outro fly-through gave me good memories of Spyro. ...And then you mentioned you were doing the reignited trilogy. Hype!
much love bro keep up the great work
You, sir, are official my first notification bell. I normally just ignore it, but you're one of probably two channels where I actually legitimately watch every single video you put out, so I'm happy to help. Congrats, you deserve it!
I love your channel and this confirms it, the smile on my face when the synced talking 😂
I never thought I needed this video in my life. I even voted for the other options in your poll. But I can admit when I'm wrong.
I just absolutely love your channel ♥️
Thanks for the boundary break videos, Shesez. I'm excited to see what new idea you have for the channel.
Wonderful video! And I love that you used Sims building mode music for the background 😂
0:18 perfect timing the honk and the bell
YESSS I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!
One thing with the well, when you drop items down the well that same item gets teleported to the river by the sewer grate that leads back to the first area.
Yesterday, I managed wo walk onto the well. The goose itself cannot fall in, but then I threw the picnic basket into it by walking backwards onto the basket and it teleported to the pipe with the goose together :D
Normally I never hit the bell. But for you I absolutely will! Love your videos and your dedication to this hobby of yours as I have always wondered what lays beyond our view.
Thankyou for using the best soundtrack ever convinced, the Sims 1 ost
Can you give a link to this free camera mod? I'd like to try it.
It's always interesting seeing the different limitations different engines have. For example, I know from experience that Source allows props and even NPCs to be spawned out of nowhere, as well as intact props being swapped out for piles of gibs, while Unity clearly requires them to be stored inside the level somewhere for later use. And of course most engines allow for true 2D asset rendering on top of the game-and modern ones can even use vector graphics-but clearly Unity can't.
And lest this sound like I'm just shitting on Unity in particular, another case I found out on my own is that Unreal lets you hide anything behind a skybox wall and it'll act just like a bluescreen, but Source will always render the skybox on the bottom layer, making the trick only work in special cases like TF2's Well.
With Unity you can instantiate objects, basically spawning them in from the assets that are apart of the game. The reason why the dev made them always in the scene is because it is easier to save locations of items that have always existed in the world rather than newly created objects. From what I’ve done in Unity I can assume that it would be the easiest way to go about it.
Just seeing everything from a different angle is great.
Could've been cool to see what happens when you drop something in the well as well but this video was so good. Amazing to think the fountain is just a blue ring, really clever
Thank you for covering this game! Appreciate it. :)
What i love about this game is the piano soundtrack. Really brings me back to Mister Rogers Neighborhood
