Intake looks good, car looks good...don’t be an asshole and keep throwing sneakers at it.
Intakes sound better under load. I put one on my Camry and I got upset when I heard no difference when I revved it in my driveway. Took it for a drive the next day and holy shit, once it hits like 3.5k, it screams. Amazing because I can be as loud as I want and still be quiet when I have to.

Instead of paying for that whole set up I just bought the trd filter which allows for more air flow. Easy swap and instant upgrade
I did the same. The TRD intake box and everything was 350 and I didn't see much of a value in that. TRD filter did a lot and just a slight increase in MPG and power. I would say 2-3mpg on highway but helps on inclines. Power it's much better on the low end.

Does the Blitz strut bar block the oil cap during oil changes or does it completely clear?
Dude it definitely does something, when pushing into 4 it sucks in way more and makes a difference on sport and slightly tanks your economy

Coming from a Civic Hatch guy, the TRD on the Corolla Hatch is pretty dope.
The only thing it's missing is a high rev engine choice.

Can tell the box itself is is made to accept more volume of air and perhaps the red hose is a little bit bigger, not much of a difference. But looks nice. Considering getting one for my 2016 scion tc with the TRD exhaust
Where do we get TRD parts, the website for trd doesn't show me a buy option
@@azhule4041 toyotapartsdeal.com or ebay. You yourself cannot order parts directly from the catalog, you can only "view" what's available. Reason they do this is if you want something TRD you need to have your local toyota dealership source the parts and install them for you under thier specification.

Agreed. It looks nice. But I don't know if just replacing the stock OEM filter element with the TRD one will yield the same performance results. Maybe Darren should post a sort followup video on any noticed performance improvements. At least the install is simple.
This was a waste of money tbh. It’s all for something you can’t even see under the hood with no performance enhancement

These have a self learning ecu meaning bolt ons don’t need to be tuned in order to make performance enhancements, so it actually does make a difference in the long run. Plus Makes the motor sound cooler in the cockpit especially paired with the trd catback

Your (and my) Corolla Hatchback share an engine with a Lexus FYI.
The Lexus, however, has an elegant black & silver beauty cover that hides the ugly mess of hoses, wires, fuel injectors (port &direct), coils, etc etc etc etc.
I bought for $159 plus $39 shipping and it snapped right on. Looks very nice and the Lexus Logo makes me feel as special as a TRD intake would

Nick A ....Coincidentally, I removed the cover this morning...I’m thinking airflow will be better without the cover on. The only difference I noticed when I put the cover on was the cleaner appearance of engine bay:)

I have a LE and am desperate to make more power even if it is a small amount. What does the car gain from adding a bigger intake?
The larger intake allows for more cold air to flow to your engine. Cold air is denser than warm air which means there is more oxygen getting crammed into your engine cylinders. More oxygen for combustion means better combustion efficiency and power.

I'm going for a 2020with the 1.8 liter,easier to work on.I'm after reliability and economy rather than performance.Ive been driving my 2003 Corolla for nine years with a stock 1.8 L and it has enough power to satisfy me.

Ir tlkimg 1 to 3 hp and 1 ftlb torque max which is alot for this little car

As a toyota tech I can verify that that "TRD" intake does jack its hypebeast material. Waste of money, with the money you used to buy this I wouldve just waited till the market kicked up. Anyways this was a great vid and hope to see more.

@@krazykrooztv9674 Its your car eo what you want, I have a few friends who have a 2020 corolla but with the M20 2.0 engine and theyve modded theirs astethically and have the good ole muffler delete and an intake, and working at a toyota dealer ive seen quite a bit of them with cold air intakes, headers and an exhaust. They sound good and theres a bit or performance made out of them without a tune but nothing crazy, i havent seen numbers but the trd really doesnt do anything without of tune. The aftermarket market the the hatchback corolla is there because of the corolla hatch drift car. If its your daily i would suggest not doing anything crazy like turboing or slamming it to the floor. But you can lower it, have an exaust, intake, and headers and obviously some nice wheels.

Technically is a cold air intake , it scoops air in from the front grill of the car not the engine bay, a lot of people swap their stock intakes for short ram which makes no sense because now you have hot air, think the oem look is clean , nice hatch
Actually the air flow comes from both the front of the car and the engine bay. So it's a mixture.. It's not really a big difference.. A cai with a heat shield makes a HUUUUUGE difference in the density of the air. FYI.
@@masterlogray the open end past the radiator is for excess wind to escape since it comes in rushing through the grille I don’t think any warm air actually can push against that cold air coming in though , either way it’s still a lot farther from the engine than a short ram, obviously a properly ran cold air intake with a heat shield is going to make gains
